The shaman could see the anger in her husband's face, he was not happy at all. She shrinked away a bit in a combination between fear and worry. She did not trust these men anymore and frankly neither did Dan-Dan which was no surprise. Kulap looked down at the ground and fiddled with her sarong. "Dan-dan...I..." Kulap sighed and turned to finish her herbal work and tried to focus on her work and ignore the situation.
As Dan-dan talked to the men in the backroom Kulap looked out of her window to see Dao sitting on the riverbank throwing stones. She shook her head, not understanding Earth Kingdom folk. Butchie was asleep and grunting loudly. She was about to apply a mix of aloe and ginger root when Dan-dan burst back in.
"Think you can get that guy patched up enough to heal on his own in a few hours?" He asked to Kulap who popped in a few of the acai berries in her mouth.
"I dunno, might as well, I can see yer patiece is already worn down to the bone, and if yew didn't have such a peaceful attitude I reckon you would kill Dao. But I have supplement that will keep ifection down and waterhealing will do the rest."
Kulap walked back into the back room with a an aplogy from Ru and Ji. "We are sorry about Dao he is very shy around other people and-" Kulap applied the mixture to Ji's torso. "I don't giva-damn. He just did the unthinkable. He got Dan-dan angry. And you be grateful that both of us even given you another mintue. Now I will water heal the rest of Ji's wounds but after this I am done." Ru covered his face knowing damn well he blew it. No way he could ever get back the shaman's good graces for this.
Kulap worked on Ji's wounds with glowing healing water, her hands labored and stress mending flesh and bone. "There now you can walk and heal on yer own and here" She gave him salve and told him to apply it at every hour.
Kulap walked back not in good mood. "Well now we wait."

Within a few minutes, Dan-dan had assembled a small meal of some fruit that had been lying around the house, a waterjug, and a few fried beetles. He didn't know if the last item would suit their tastes, but as far as he was concerned, anything fried in oil was tastey. The fisherman walked swiftly into the back room, deposited the meal on the ground using a wide flat piece of wood as a tray. "Here," wasall he said efore he left the room.
Dan-dan then made a bee-line for the exit, scooping up his oar along the way, and took a seat out on the porch. He took a seat on the stump that served as a chair and tried his best to calm his thumping heart.
The waterbender remained there for a little while, easing his blood pressure with deep breathing while he listened to the melody of the Swamp's creatres. However, that peace was disrupted by the creak of wood as someone started their way up the ramp to the tree house. Dan-dan's eyes fixed themselves to the furthest portion of the ramp he could see from his seat on the porch, and several seconds later Dao came into view. The Earth Kingdom soldier seemed to be staring intently at the wooden walkway at his feet and didn't notice Dan-dan sitting up ahead.
Dan-dan's eyes narrowed dangerously, and the soldier seemed to be muttering to himself as he approached. The fisherman somehow managed to avoid the impulse to leap at the man and start pounding his face in. Instead, he simply took his oar and swung the end down toward the door, tapping the paddle in front of the entrance.
Dao looked up at once at the sound, quickly focusing in on Dan-dan. The soldier wore a bitter expression, but he stopped in his tracks and didn't say anything. Dan-dan held his gaze with one that was equally intense. The two stared at each other for several more seconds, and Dan-dan occasionally tapped the oar against the floor in a steady count.
Half a minute passed, and Dao suddenly turned away, starting back down the path. "The lot of you are leaving in an hour," Dan-dan called after him as he left.
"Not soon enough," he heard the soldier spit back.
"Damn right..." Dan-dan muttered.

Kulap was quiet after she finished everything. She took her spear and gripped it lightly remembering the smooth feel of it in her grasp. She sighed and shook her head Butchie nuzzled her leg and she bent down to scratch his head. "it's alright butchers, Mama is ok." Kulap waited as time floated by, Finally two hours passed and Kulap went to the back room to get the other men. "C'mon you lot follow me. Dan-Dan will take yew to edge of the swamp. You'll need to find yer own way to the Gaoling." Kulap took her spear and Ru, Kai and Ji followed her out of the house. "C'mon Dan-dan lets go." Dao however looked at Kulap with unreadable expression. Kulap didn't say anything to bait him as she got into the boat. Ru tried one more time to aplogize to Kulap.
"Shaman...we are sorry-" But Kulap interjected. "Enough, your half-baked apologies won't cut it. Just shut up and get in the boat."

Kulap had opted to come despite Dan-dan's numerous protests that it'd be best if she stayed behind on this trip. It was a lesson in the ways of marriage that she ended up having her way, even though Dan-dan truly was comforted by her presence. He took his position at the leading tip of the skiff and waited for everyone to pile in before starting on their way.
Ru was seated in the back beside Kulap, while the injured soldier lay lengthwise along the boat's center, and the other two soldiers sat behind Dan-dan. The fsherman took some pleasure in the fact that each stroke of his oar was dangerously close to whacking Dao in the back of the head as they crammed together on the boat.
The sun was still high in the sky as Dan-dan navigated the most common water route out of the Swamp. The air was tense, but remained quiet for the duration of the trip. It seemed like no one was in the mood for small talk.
Almost an hour later, the trees started to thin out and the landscape of the surrounding territory was visible through the gaps. Dan-dan took them as far as the waterways would allow the boat to drift, and finally drove it ashore. He wasted little timing in hopping off onto the edge of the water, noticing immediately how much more solid this ground seemed to be.
"This is as far as we go," he announced. "There should be some friendly territory to the East."

Ru, Kai, Ji and Dao left the unsteading Skift on the the land outside of major swamp terriorty, heading East they will reach Chin or Gaoling.
"It's is an honor to have met you shaman and Dan-dan." Ru said queitly as Kai helped Ji of the boat. Dao purposely ran into Kulap grunting something that Kulap didn't catch. But she didn't say anythng.
"It;s good to have met yew to Ru and yew too Ji and Kai, If things turned out better...well no matter, but head east, and you'll reach Gaoling. Alright?" Ru bowed and with some effort the four walked down the dirt road. Kulap sighed.
"Dao has so much turmoil in his heart...the war must have warped him. He sees everyone as an enemy. War is hurtin all of 'em. But still doesn't excuse the fact he's an ass." Kulap said truthfully. She turned over to Dan-dan and kissed his cheek. "Glad that yew didn't kill 'em, by the look in yer eye, I wus wondering if I was gonna hide a body tonight." Kulap had a small green purse in her hands. "Anyway I must thank Mr. Dao fer payin' me and mah sevices. He may be an ass, but he is a stupid one fer leaving his wallet plain sight and no moral lectures. Those ingrates owe us!" She sharply added as an afterthought to Dan-dan. Kulap tossed the wallet in the air and caught it.."
"Butchie is watin' fer us. Lets head home husband..."
Kulap has completed the RP
