Inside of the noble house of Ba Seng Sei, a band of nobles and generals of the Earth Kingdom army began their meeting about the upcomng Fire Nation army that nears the capital.
"We must flee what we could out of Ba Seng Sei," one noble shouted, "We must get as many civilians out as we could, then hold our ground with what remainig soldiers we have available."
"Are you mad?" one general spat, "The Thunderfist Battalion couldn't stop the army. What makes you so sure we will fair any better? We must all flee. We can take refuge from the Water Tribes."
One other general smashed his fist into the oaken table, "I've heard enough! We cannot flee. The lands of the Water Tribe will bring much death to our people. We cannot withstand that much cold. Think of how sick our people will be. And even if we could go to the Water Tribes, we don't have the final saying from the Earth King. I say we stay to the last man. We cannot dishonr ourselves nor the Earth Kingdom soldiers from long ago."
The council continued to argue. The roar of the fighting dimmed as an echo was heard from within the walls. From what the could describe it, it sounded like clapping. With some confusion of what was going on, the council looked around only to see a lone man at the doorway. His robes were red, his shoes dirty from the earth, and walked with a staff with a piece of amber at the top.
"Truly impressive," the man spoke, "I am so glad that the fate of the Earth Kingdom is in such capable hands."
"Guards take this man away," one noble ordered.
"I wouldn't worry about the guards," the robed man replied, "They just responded with a distress call. I can help you though if you wanted. I can help you get rid of the Fire Nation."
"Are you mad?" one general roared with tension in his voice, "What can we get from a lowl traveler? A vagabound?"
"I have some information that could help you win. My name is Tseng Wei, and I am your key to total victory."
"Perhaps you can humor us Mr. Tseng," one noble smirked, "Enlighten us. What do you propose?"
"A few weeks back, the Fire Naion was concentrating on Omashu. A powerful city ruled by the mad King Bumi. Now it is under Fire Nation control. It was heard that the Avatar was spotted leaving te city. The Avatar was responsible for the fall of Omashu, and soon the fall of the Earth Kingdom."
"Are you insane?" the general roared again, "The Avatar is our last hope."
"The Avatar is the reason the Fire Nation strive so well. It was the Avatar that caused your soldiers to be weak, the reason your people are getting sick. Your precious Thunderfist Battalion fell to the hands of Princess Azula. The Avatar has done nothing to help you, but hinder you instead. If the Avatar wasn't here, the Fire Nation would've concentrated on the Water Tribes instead. The first seige of Ba Seng Sei that was lead by general Iroh was twarted. The Avatar was nowhere to be found. I don't find that coincdental."
Tseng Wei made it all the wal to the council's table, only to stand on it as he looked down at the council.
"I do have a solution for you. You give me what I want, and I will give you what you need to take down the army of the Fire Nation," Tseng Wei continued, "Do we have a deal?"
"How do you propose you are going to stop them?" one noble asked.
"I have a poison that cannot be detected easily because it has a hidden nature. By itself, it is harmless. Add it to water however, and it could kill anyone that consumes it, and only I know where this poison is located."
"Alright, suppose we agree to take your offer. What do you want in return?"
Right then, Tseng sinisterly smiled with his yellow tanged teeth as he looked down at the man.
"I want the Avatar captured alive and brought over to me"
