Teiú walked to outside the alley. Looking in the map Teiú followed, with his eyes, the path it would lead him to the harbor. Then he looked back to the street which brought him there. Upon knowing that posters about him had been spread through the entire city it seemed obvious to conclude that something could happen to Xin in the meantime. Teiú wished he could have time to go to the Che-shi’ mansion to check if things were alright but if Ino said the truth the merchant ship, Green Scepter, would be scheduled to depart soon.
“I’m sorry if I brought you problem Xin… I’m sorry for abusing of your benevolence. I hope you don’t face hardships for my cause” The deserter said to himself, decided that no time was there to be wasted.
Teiú walked through the streets and squares, all darkened by the sinister shade of the tempestuous dark sky. The center of the city was definitely different of the outskirts. Poverty seemed to be around. From under the rain Teiú distinguished two or three silhouettes, who he judged to be beggars. Things that couldn’t be seem near the real property of Ozai’s royal property, for sure.
In no time at all Teiú found himself in the Lun Yang harbor. A few guards should be patrolling the place after all. The sky was throwing heavy rain and the day was one of festival in the city so not much to worry. Teiú entered the docks by an open unguarded gate. Shivering by the cold of the night and the heavy weight of his wet cloak Teiú wandered through a wooden pier searching for a ship named Green Scepter.
“Red Dragon, Ozai’s Pride, The Magic Carp, Firefly… Where the hell is that merchant ship… Green Scepter?” The deserter spoke as his eyes were following the line of ships at the dock.

The little girl shivered like a shaking leaf in a furious battle with the merciless wind, gripping her brass key to suspend her constant moving. She bent her fingers back one at a time as they kept stiffening in the cold when they were wrapped around her key. With each bend the knuckle seemed to pop, but it made her fingers feel somewhat better each time they wrapped back around the piece of brass.
"Setsuko! Setsuko!" she heard voices in the distance. Was her mind playing tricks on her? Did she get enough sleep to keep her from getting delusional or it wasn't enough to let her think straight?
Setsuko looked up past the harbor's gates and to the docks. Her head throbbed when she forced her squinted eyes to glance through the misty rain, but she saw something; a shadowy silhouette walking by the ships.
"Daddy...?" Setsuko muttered as she rubbed her eyes, blinking hard to remove the fogginess from her vision. "Setsuko! Setsuko!"
Setsuko wasn't even aware that she was running. She had come out from underneath Xin's cloak and ran hard against the harsh wind and rain. She activated her remaining energy and pushed herself to move faster. She sprinted past the open gate and into the docks, not even seeing clearly who the silhouette belonged to. Her head throbbed harder, almost making her dizzy enough to fall on her face.
But she stopped suddenly. Her vision blurred again, her head feeling lighter and lighter by the second. Her tiny body seemed to sway a little side to side, her feet shifting and stumbling to keep balance, until finally she had collapsed from exhaustion.

Xin's eyes widened in panic when she saw the girl running, in horror she watched the girl sprint out of sight, and worst of all in the rain. The firenation teen could do little aside from give chase. She wasn't quick, in fact she was all but at a snails pace nearly stumbling due to the puddles on several occasions. In her bag the hamster kitty, Xue, began to squeak at the sudden movement, it burrowed into the front pocket rubbing it's paws over it's cat like ears in agitation. This was a lot of stress for the poor animal, he was not amused in the least with the rough ride, it was making it difficult to get his beauty sleep.
The teen finally reached Setsuko resting a hand on her thigh huffing hot puffs of breath in the chill stormy air. She looked down at the young girl with her expression hard and worried. Now what was she supposed to do? The hood of her cloak was now around her shoulders allowing her tangled hair to become drenched in the rain, soaking the hem of her traveling clothes along with the rest of it, she could feel cold droplets drip down her neck and chest, sliding into her chest, catching on her eyelids and nose until they finally formed a droplet that fell when gravity or a simple blink disturbed them. She shook the small girls shoulders but it seemed like she had spent most of her energy. Xin bit her lower lip, what was she supposed to do now? What?
Frantically she looked along the docks, ships ported for the night, they seemed lifeless and idle, it was creepy, sending shivers down her spine though that might just be from the cold. Her soft honey brown eyes fluttered up to see a flame not too far in the distance. Her immediate response was to smile, they would be able to help, then the situation hit her, they had been in her home, they might be looking for her. The maid didn't tell her to skip the nation for a reason. With her hands shaking she collected the girl in her arms. Pressing her head in the crook of her neck with her body awkwardly settled on her hip so that the cloak would keep her clothing from being saturated any further. Now another wave of panic settled in, the man was still coming, she needed to hide.
Her eyes lingered on the ship to her right and she quickly climbed up the gang plank slipping down into the lower decks. Cargo seemed to line the majority of the area, perhaps they wouldn't come down here. She shuddered feeling a creak over head and she ducked behind the boxes settling Setsuko down against their wooden frames. Xin made herself low to the ground, the foot steps went to the gang plank, he must be the captain, heading out for the night? That meant they'd be safe. She relaxed a touch, dropping the burdensome bags at her sit and sitting down her legs feeling like jelly. Her eyes fluttered shut, she'd wait an hour and get out of here, perhaps a nap first, she was so tired and cold... just closing her eyes wouldn't hurt... but it was too late, the noble was asleep already, the danger slipping from her mind.

Green Scepter
While trying to figure the reason of this name Teiú found himself looking to a medium-sized merchant ship. Not the Teiú had seem that many ships to call that one medium-sized but the embarkation seemed to be under the shades of the imposing Ozai’s Pride and another craft Teiú couldn’t read the name at the moment.
Teiú always liked to stand beneath the rain but the night was spitting cold winds towards the harbor and Teiú wanted to find shelter before he lost the sensation in his hands. The access to the upper deck of the ship was easy but the place was as quiet as the docks. Teiú gave a walk around trying to find someone. When the deserter turned his attention to the stern of the ship he was received by a not so likeable welcome. Standing at his front a tall man covered in heavy fur clothes was holding a sharp sword, with the tip turned to Teiú’s neck.
“Make me know who you are and make it quick before my actions speaks for me.” The newcome man spoke.
Caught by surprise by this sudden encounter Teiú answered, in a frightened voice “Oh, please, don’t misunderstand me, Ino sent me here, look.” The deserter showed the man the golden ring it was offered to him by Ino.
“Mmm, so seems you are the one. And… Ino… yep, that’s kind of the name she would figure out. Look, my name is Fargus and I lead this ship so it is “captain Fargus” for you. I assume you are aware of your mission and such, so pay attention. You are here as a clandestine so I don’t wanna see you out the cargo room alright? I will let the sailors know you will be down there. We need to set sail now so go down there. I will be there in some hours to explain you the rules. Go and be quiet.” And the man left to call for two big sailors who got ready to weigh anchor.
“I… Well, I’m sorry to ask you sir but we are going to take leave under this storm?” Teiú asked, intrigued about how the captain of the sip was going to manage things on the actual situation.
“Hmmph, do you think it is easy to go through the Fire Nation customs carrying a clandestine? Our better chance is now so shut up and go down as I told you” The captain shouted to Teiú with fury in his voice.
Teiú walked to a wooden stair leading to the lower decks. Wet to his very soul Teiú soon took out his cloak after entering the place. Then, suddenly, he noticed a trail of water that came through the stair and kept going to below the big forklift boxes. Teiú moved his hand to produce a small ball of fire, with the intention of lighting the place. Silently, he walked through the small maze of cargo till he got a very peculiar scene. Two small persons, perhaps kids, where standing at a corner on resting on the lap of the other. But as Teiú came closer the person whose lap was being occupied seemed to be bigger than it first appeared to be. And as Teiú came closer he definitely distinguished a feminine silhouette. And as the place became totally lit by Teiú improvised torch the deserter realized it was a known face.
“Xin?” He shouted, so shaken by surprise that he could not manage to keep his voice down.

Xin opened her eyes sleepily, she was still tired as could be, her hair was a mess and her clothing was still damp. She vauegly recognized the man, it wasn't as if she'd known him for too long. Next to her sat his pack, as well as hers considerably bigger, filled mostly with clothes and luxuries she was used to, though the front pocket was open, Xue having crawled out and nestled himself against his master. She lifter her hands up to her face and rubbed the sleep from her eyes feeling groggy.
It took forever for her to wake up, she would be in a haze for quiet a while. She shifted a bit, silently curious why she couldn't move as she wanted to. Looking down she spied the girl half in her lap, she accepted it and just stretched her upper body, not like she minded much anyway. Brown hazy eyes looked up at Tenma, that was his name, and she tried to remember where she was. The sound of the ocean greeted her ears, it was odd, her home wasn't near the docks, but she wasn't home, her bed was much more comfortable than this.
Her head tilted to the side in clueless confusion, she was on a boat? Why was she on a boat? She was told to leave, the soldiers were after her or something? A small bit of fear gripped her heart and she began to wake up a bit faster. Realization seeped into Xin's eyes and she watched Tenma nervously now. The soldiers were after him. They came to her house in order to catch him. " What are you doing here?"

Teiú kept being calm as the situation could allow him to be. Even so, that was a strange situation to meet the noble lady who gave him shelter some hours ago. Teiú perceived that, as Xin started to realize who he was, she started to become agitated. Her eyes opened wide considerably and her actions conserved a touch of nervousness.
“What are you doing here?” At hearing the interrogation Teiú suppressed a small smile that insisted to cross his face. For him the question was best suited to be asked to her. The deserter tried to handle the situation quickly. Teiú didn’t want Xin to get too stressed by this situation.
“Calm down Xin.” He said with a relatively calm voice. “I judge that something bad happened to you and I fear I may be the reason of it but you must trust me, I’m not going to do you any bad”. And Teiú kept with the phrase on his mind “At least not more than I already did”. Then he kept on with the talking “You are all wet, do you have any dry clothes? You must take these clothes before you get hypothermia or something”.
Teiú looked aside to the two bags lying near the wall. Was that his bag? As Teiú realized so he concluded that something serious may had happened at the Che’shi residence. Most probably the army came after him and Xin fled taking his backpack with her.
“And this kid? Is she well?” The deserter asked upon laying eyes on the girl sleeping on Xin’s lap, as wet as her noble companion.

" Miss Che'Shi" she quickly corrected when he said her name, she wasn't sure how much she could trust him, he seemed like a nice boy, someone she could trust, someone she welcomed in her home but now it made her nervous. There was no longer any reason for her to trust him so she wouldn't. Cautiously her eyes followed him, he body shrank away against the crates they found themselves surrounded by, this was day growing increasingly worse.
She wanted to get off this silly little boat and go home, her wits could only take so much torment in one day, they'd just about reached their limit. Carefully Xin pushed his bag toward him while attempting to move Setsuko into a standing position. She shook the girl attempting to rouse her. " Honey it's time to go, get up."
They still needed to find her mother, find some way for her to get out of the country, Tenma was worrying her, he'd already brought trouble, she wasn't a strong person, she couldn't take much abuse from him or anyone else. It was hard enough to keep a straight face when she wanted to panic and leave. If it weren't for Setsuko she would have screamed and ran as soon as she saw him, the little girl wouldn't be able to take care of herself though, so Xin had to stay.
Xue was unamused with being roused from his sleep, the animal hissed at the boy baring his tiny little fangs, he didn't understand all of what was going on, but he was bright enough to notice his masters agitation.

The little girl felt herself being shaken, immediately clicking her into consciousness, but not making her fully awake. Her eyes drowsily opened halfway, her eyelids feeling very heavy, as she constantly fought her sleepiness from closing them and wanted to get them open. Her head bobbled a little this way and that in a struggle to regain balance, and finally it did by keeping still in one place. With that, she gave off a little shiver, as her sense of touch became fully awakened and aware, feeling the chill in the air. Setsuko somewhat succeeded opening her eyes, but one was open kind of normally while the other seemed to still be halfway closed. Her vision blurred, but slowly it became clear again as she saw the noble's face.
She mumbled, her words barely distinguishable as she mushed them together when her jaw barely moved. "Where are we?"
Her knees stiffened, forcing her to stand on her own. She wobbled a bit, stumbling somewhat left and right. She rubbed her eye and stood still, her feet sustaining temporary balance on the ground.

“Miss Che’shi”
“What, she is worried about it in a situation like this one? Right, right… nobles.” Teiú thought, feeling a bit angry by this statement he felt to be totally unneeded. But, however, Xin seemed to be a very strong girl. Her actions denoted courage and determination and due this Teiú, being as naïve as he was, could not perceive that the girl could fall apart at any instant. Still unaware of the seriousness of the situation Teiú stood quiet and still while observing Xin waking the little girl accompanying her. But so, Xin’s last statement kept going on Teiú’s head: “…time to go.”, “…time to go.”, “…time to go”.
“Time to go!” Teiú shouted, finally realizing that the ship was going to take leave and they should not be inside it. The young man rose up and rushed to the cargo compartment entrance. Outside he saw captain Fargus speaking with a man in a red robe, accompanied by two soldiers. Standing in the shadows Teiú took his time to hear the men speaking.
“C’mon, the cargo was already checked at the pier, we must leave now.” The captain said, his voice loud trying to surpass the sound of the wind and water.
“You know it is the normal proceeding Captain, cargo room must be checked twice before leaving the port” The robe wearing man spoke trying to make his voice understandable as well. “After all, why are you leaving in this storm?”
“I have food on the boxes, if I wait one night more it will be good for nothing transportation. Please officer we don’t wanna stick the whole night here do we?” Fargus replied.
Feeling that the conversation could go a long way Teiú perceived that Xin and her friend couldn’t leave the ship anymore. If the custom officers saw them they would, for sure, investigate the case. Teiú returned to scene in which the two noble girls where acting. The young lady was wakening of her sleepy. Both seemed very tired. Teiú felt so great a wave of exasperation upon knowing that Xin could, without science, destroy the Rebellion’s plans that this compelled him to take the action he first had imagined to be the best.
Teiú took a deep breath before going on. “Though it will appear exactly the opposite, I have no intention of harming you girls, in any way. For what I will do now I apologize.” And right after this Teiú leaped forward holding both girls with his arms. The deserter covered the both girls’ mouths with his hands and, holding them and pulling both to the darkest side of the room, he crouched at the shadows of the now not so empty storage.

There was no time to be wasted in departing, the man was obviously delusional and insane, she'd felt bad for him before but now she had no reason to be. He'd gotten her into some odd situation that she was unsure of in herself. It was hard to be practical and not break down crying at the sheer futility over it.
Yet her hands were still quivering mildly, perhaps it would be interpreted as being from the cold. Xin had slung her bag back over her shoulder and attempted to get Sechiko ready to leave the ship, she ra her hands quickly through the girls now matted hair, her own locks had to be horrid from the rain. She took the girls hand and scooped Xue up allowing the hamster kitty to stay in inner the pocked of her cloak. " Sechiko we're leaving now"
Just as she was about the leave Tenma was back muttering something about being sorry. Bitterly she speculated that it was much too late to be sorry. Her arms went around the child protecting her from whatever devious motives the man could have in the dark in the hull of a ship. There wasn't much surprise when he grabbed the girls, covering their mouths.
Still Xin let out a muffled scream, the roar of the wind and the hand blocking her voice did well to cover it up. " What are you doi- mmmhpppphhh-!"
She struggled dropping the heavy bag as he pulled them back further into the ship. Her hands pulled at his hand but it wasn't like she had any manner of physical strength to speak of. This seemed futile, she continued shivering in fear. Thoughts of her brothers floated through her head, would they know where she had disappeared to? Even her parents may find themselves concerned, her butler and maids, it was scary, to think she was going to die.
In panic she closed her eyes tightly wishing the whole situation would just depart and she would be no more. The tension was too much

Setsuko was utterly confused, her hand at first being taken by the noble and then all of the sudden she felt dragged back into the darkest side of the room. Her eyes widened when she became more aware of what was happening to her. Her hair was still dripping wet along with her clothes, and soon she was just a shivering leaf again without getting any warmth into her legs. She sat there quietly, her eyes flickering and darting about with her own tiny hands over the hand that was covering her own mouth. She was a little shocked that the strange man had pulled her back suddenly, and maybe she thought it was some sort of kidnapping.
Now, since the man had just stopped and crouched in the dark, making them crouch along with them, any other person older than Setsuko would completely understand what normally happened if a strange man just suddenly jumps up, grabs and silences the victim and drags them into darkness, striking fatal panic into the victim. But not little naive Setsuko, no, she was in fact just confused. She didn't even bother to guess what the man's interpreted intensions were.
Suddenly, Setsuko felt the ground begin to move. Not in a natural on-the-earth way, but as if... as if floating on the sea. It rocked somewhat back and forth. One of her hands came down and gently touched the floor, feeling that it was made of wood. We're on a ship...
Her eyes went wider with fear. In a storm! she thought. Her hand came back up over the man's hand, where it had originally covered. Her tiny fingers tightened over the man's hands. She feared of meeting the same fate as Kaito, her beloved friend. She feared of dying such a horrible death, fearing what would happen to her if she were to die in such a way if a storm was commencing as they floated upon the sea. She began shaking harder, and her tears leaked down her face. She wanted to let out a whine, but nothing came out from her throat.

As the two girls started feeling scared and both, each one in its manner, started struggling against the grasp Teiú was inflicting to them the deserter perceived that they seemed like two fragile glass made dolls. Even for him that never was a strong man keeping the two girls at control was not a hard task at all. As their body made contact and the girls' wet clothes touched Teiú's also wet robe the firebender felt like holding two just caught fishes under his arms.
Feeling that he could have been hurting them, Teiú relaxed his arms' musculature to give the girls space to breathe. But still, both seemed to be so scared that his actions seemed futile. Teiú was nervous and frightened, as well. His trip could not be stopped and, still, he was taking decisions he never thought he would, like keeping two girls quiet by force against their will.
However, the ship started moving. Should this be consequences of weighing anchor? Teiú held on his own and stood quiet, trying to hear something useful among the storm sounds. Instead of that, the deserter started feeling a hard pain on his leg. When he looked down a white fur ball had coiled itself around Teiú's thigh. Hard sharp fangs cutting through his cloth and skin. For one seeing the scene it wouldn't seem like something too much painful but for the fellow being bitten situation was way different.
Taking Xin's pet out of his leg demanded the unhand of one of the girls, what could happen to be dangerous since they could scream, delivering Teiú's hideout. concentrating to endure the pain Teiú only perceived the coming steps when those were almost reaching him. Instinctively, the young man left the two girls and took the animal out of his thigh. With his right hand he hold tight the MiaoDao hilt, waiting for trouble.
"We are taking leave, boy." The captain said after appearing from after the pile of boxes. Teiú's heart skipped a beat before realizing that he was now safe.
Captain Fargus' face showed heavy signs of surprise when he laid eyes on the two girls on the corner of the room. "What is this? Who are you? Explain me that, boy." He shouted, ire mixed in his voice. For a man of his stature, a high one, and appearance, shouting in a tempestuous night and holding the hilt of a huge sword, intimidation was a sure advantage to count on. Teiú refrained from answering on the exact moment, fearing any bad reactions of the huge man standing beside him. But, after taking control of himself again, Teiú stood up and positioned himself in front of the girls.
"Look, I don't know how they got here but I know them. Please be patient alright?" Teiú answered with his voice embroiled in fear.
"Patient? It is not enough for me having to transport you without previous announce and now I will carry three clandestine? We are already out Fire Nation's coast, I will not turn back now, not in this storm and risking being stopped by Fire Nation officers. I would prefer to throw both on the sea and letting them finding home alone... And you could go too."
Teiú swallowed dry at the moment. However, he judged that his stance needed to be hard one. He tried to have an imposing stance, trying to diminish Fargus' height in relation of his own. "Look, you had some kind of pact with Ino right and you will take me to Earth Kingdom cause I have something important to do. But now I found these two girls here and I will not leave them behind. I suppose you were going to give me food daily right? Well, you can still give us the same quantity of food you were going to give me and you don't need to give us a room. My point is, treat us as you judge to be better for you and your ship but both girls will stay on this craft till we get to land, Fire Nation or Earth Kingdom, alright?" Teiú almost fell seated on the floor after finishing his speech. In his actual state of mind and body Teiú hadn't knew if things had sounded clear enough. He just hoped the captain would give him time to think and opportunity to resolve things peacefully.
"... Be aware kid that, being them two nobles, as i judge looking at their attire, you may be charged of kidnapping... And I don't wanna get involved with this. But take your time. Discover what they are doing here and settle them down here this night. My sailor will bring you some food and dry blankets. After you take care of things here go upstairs. I'll be waiting you, we need to talk." Fargus said, sounding way more friendly than he first seemed to be. "Just pay attention both you boy and you girls... I will not get back to Fire Nation now. There is no chance of this happening." And after shouting this the captain went upstairs, leaving to the upper deck.
Teiú finally fell to the ground, on his knees. Among the huge wave of feeling that were filling Teiú the biggest one, at the time, was relief.

Xin quivered, as soon as Tenma let her go she scrambled to pick up poor little Xue and pull Setsuko close to herself. In the dark she could feel every beat of her heart for it resounded through her entire body making her quake. She watched the men through suspicious and frightened eyes, alone, in the dark, on a ship too many things could happen, too many things that could compromise a lady.
Old enough to understand these things she feared for herself as well as the child. Secretly she was greatful for Xue, he managed to get some retribution for their state, she could always trust him to pull through for her. She was frightened as all hell. Her brown eyes quivered with unspelt tears. Her wet hair still clung to her face as she now forced the girl to cling to herself.
It was like her senses were heightened. The disconserning eyes of the captian were on them and she couldn't help but stare in silent fear. She swallowed hard, edging herself in front of Setsuko, just as Tenma moved in front of them. She didn't know if the situation was worse or better.
Word of being dropped into the ocean was no help to her nerves. This was beyond anything she'd had to face before. The traumatic move to the earth kingdom seemed now like a mild annoyance, her only breath of relief from this realistic nightmare was when both men retreated upstairs. Her death grip on the girl was then allowed to lax now as her pressed a single hand to her ecstatic heart.
Now her tears were allowed to fall down her cheeks in two solitary streams. How much more must she endure in this night?

The frightened little girl began to tremble, her knees knocking against each other and her dull, amber eyes wide and shiny from her tears. She held her fists against each other, pressing them against her nose and clenching them tightly. "The earth kingdom?" she said in somewhat of a whisper. "Why are we going to the earth kingdom?" Her large eyes turned to the noble. "Will we ever return to the Fire Nation?"
Setsuko felt the ship tilt a little, as a wave had hit against the side. She stumbled a bit, letting out a whine and flinging her arms around Xin's waist. Her tears were spilling out of her eyelids even more. "I don't wanna be on the water..." she whimpered. She buried her face into Xin's side, letting out her silent sobs. She didn't want to die, not like the way Kaito did. She didn't want to die in a storm like this. Just hearing the rain against the ship and the thunder roaring outside made her shiver even more.

Finally free of threats, Teiú walked until he could see the entrance of the cargo compartment. When an upset and noisy captain left the room, Teiú fell seated on the ground. His hands were shaking and his legs couldn't hold the weight of his body. It had been too much for him. For him, the limit was achieved and the deserter allowed himself what he would call a vacation. It was a good half of a minute for him, helped getting his nerves back. And then, Teiú turned his attention to the girls. The small girl, whom Teiú still wasn't aware of name and story, was crying desperately, embraced in Xin's waist. Xin seemed to be lost, also shedding tears, but in a quiet, melancholic and sorrowful way. Her companion, in the other hand, was at a haughty and loud explosion of tears. Teiú's limits were crossed and he was shaken. But those girls' limits were broken, also, and they were destroyed. "Xin..." Teiú said, his voice shaking wildly, more than he assumed it would come out. Clearing his throat, he kept on "Xin... I said... you girls cannot stay in those wet clothes... Look, I will leave this room and will close the door then you may put dry clothes on you and on her. If... if your clothes are all wet I'll bring dry blankets for you". Teiú was not completely sure if Xin was hearing him or, at least, understanding, but he kept on his speech. "This is serious Xin and I don't know what you girls are doing here. I need to speak with this man... the one who was here right now. I will be back in a minute alright?... Don't do anything foolish, please..." Speaking anymore seemed to be rather foolish to Teiú. Staggering to his feet he walked till the stairs and, as he left the room, the compartment's horizontal door made a loud sound when it shocked itself against the ship's floor. Storm was still raging outside. Under it, feeling its could embrace, the deserter felt like having renewed energy. At the ship's stern a room lit by the inside called the firebender's attention. And then, taking all the courage he could get at the moment, Teiú left to speak with the captain. (Teiú leaves to: Fire on the Water)
