Ayame sat down, legs crossed next to the warm fire. She had taken off her parka and sat on it, like a carpet.
He guessed she had some questions? Was that an understatement! Don't overwhelm him, she thought, start slowly. She then started to ask question at a slow pace, but pacing herself wasn't her thing.
"Well, I'd like to know how you killed your brother," she said, "Because you don't seem like a cold-hearted killer to me."
She kept going, a little nervous about the answers she'd get.
"I'd also like to know how old you are."
The pacing wasn't working. No use fighting your nature, she thought.
"How did you get injured so badly? Do you live in Shai too? You were wearing armor, are you a soldier or a soldier in training? And I guess this one depends on your age, but what about the rest of your family?"
She laughed nervously.
"Sorry about that. I tend to be curious. Tell me if I'm getting too personal."
But she had one more question, a question she was somewhat afraid to ask, in fear of making him feel more guilty.
"Um, forgive me about this question," she started "But......you were out so far from any person. So......I guess I'm wondering.....where is your brother?"

Namha smiled a bit at the girl, her curiosity intrigued him. It was a refreshing change of pace to be answering so many questions. Scooting off the booth bench he sat on the floor next to Ayame. One knee tucked up and the other leg stretched out, he leaned back on his hand staring into the fire.
"Wow, you certainly ask a lot of questions, but I suppose I owe you answers for getting me out of the cold." He said looking at her briefly to give her a small grin.
"Let's start simple. I'm seventeen. I used to live in Shai, but I don't plan on going back." Nam sighed, he thought he should feel bad about recalling what had happened so soon afterwards, but he actually felt relieved.
"My father in a Lieutenant in the Army there and my oldest brother is a Corporal. I was planning on enrolling when I turned eighteen, but I guess that isn't going to happen." He snickered a little. Not because it was funny, but more ironic. He had spent his life training to be in the military with his brother and father and now he would never enlist or see his family again. "I have a little brother and an older sister. Along with them are both my sets of grandparents. I have a big family."
"My brotherfs death was an accident. We used to spar against each other all the time. He was only two years younger then me, so we were basically at the same level of training which made fighting each other perfect. He was my best friend; I should have known he would do something stupid like that." He pounded his fist on the fur rug he sat on, thinking back to the event that occurred less then a day ago, but seemed like a lifetime away.
"He was always a bit of a daredevil, we both were," he said after a few minutes of silence, "He didn't wear his armor like he normally would. During our spar, one wrong move and no more Thinh." He sighed; he still couldn't really believe that his closest friend was gone. "I'm guessing they found him. I didn't know what to do so I left. He was in the sparring arena, I guess I really should have said a proper good-bye, but I suppose I wonft get that chance now." He stared silently into the red flickering flames. He needed to leave the North Pole as soon as possible, no matter what.

Ayame nodded, fascinated by his story. She could tell her very much cared for his brother.
"My father was a soldier," she said absent-mindedly, "But he got hurt pretty bad. They thought he was a goner, but he pulled through."
Ayame smiled fondly at the fire.
"My brother's out there now. He sends me letters, and even this necklace," she held up her medallion, "It wards off bad spirits." Ayame added, now remembering the day she got the necklace. She sighed; she missed Shome.
"If you're not going back, where are you going to stay?" Ayame asked, puzzled by his statement about not going back to Shai, "I mean, what will you do with yourself?"

Namha stared at the fire not sure of his answer. The bright flames flickered in front of him, but he wasn't really seeing them. He was picturing a map of the world in his mind and pondering his options out loud.
"Well, I certainly can't go to the Fire Nation, that would just be crazy. I couldn't get to the Air temples if I wanted to, even though they would be a great hiding place. I guess that leaves the Earth Nation." He smiled. Yes the Earth Nation was close enough, he wouldn't have to sail to far and he was sure to find work there.
"I suppose I could use my skills and become a Mercenary, but I don't much care for that idea." No the idea of being a hired sword for anyone didn't bode well with him. "Unless, prehaps... no it's a stupid idea." He waved his hand in the air like erasing the idea. Ayame would never want to join me on such a stupid journey anyway, he thought, just smile for a minute at the thought.

"Unless what?" she asked, her blue eyes becoming wide with curiosity.
"If it makes you feel better, I'm all for hearing stupid ideas." Ayame said casually, though grinning, "I mean, how do I know it's stupid unless you say it?"
As much as she tried to be clever, it didn't work. Oh well.
But she was thinking about Namha's journey. She had heard stories of how big the earth kingdom is, and how many different myths and warriors inhabited it. She smiled as she remembered her grandfather's old stories. The life of a soldier....

"Well I was thinking... I really want to try and find a Northern water tribe encampment. You know, try and find my father and older brother. Well since you miss your brother so much maybe you could come with me, I could help you find him." Nam spoke his idea. He tried to make it sound as good as possible, but he knew it was a stupid idea; she would never want to leave her home and family to go running around the Earth Kingdom trying to find siblings.
"See, I told you it was a dumb idea." She smiled half heartedly, sadly thinking of his lonely journey ahead of him. He tried to think of what he would do after finding his father. He wanted to personally tell him of what had happened between Thinh and him, but what then. Would his father beat him, kill him? They thoughts were scaring him, but he had to do it no matter what. Besides being killed was like a pleasure cruise compared to seeing his mothers and sisters sad faces.

Ayame's eyes widened even more. Leave the North Pole? The Earth Kingdom? Some many thoughts were going on at once in her head.
She could get to see Shome again. She hadn't seen him in a long time, and she hadn't gotten a letter from him in a month. And then she thought of leaving her home, the place she'd lived for her whole life.
But I need to get out of here! Ayame thought wildly. It had been her dream ever since she was young and her grandfather told her stories to explore the world. She could see sights she would never get to see, she could have adventures beyond her wildest dreams....
"The Earth Kingdom..." she repeated, almost dazed. She then grinned.
"I haven't seen Shome in years," she said, "It would be awesome to see him again. Maybe even help the soldiers! I can fight, ya'know." Ayame added proudly, taking out the club that hung from her sash.
But then Ayame grew solemn. What of her family? Would they be worried? They would miss her, and she'd miss them. But the Earth Kingdom.....and she couldn't let Namha go on his own....
She needed to go back home, to at least get some supplies, and maybe leave them a note....

"Wait, you would seriously consider it," Nam's eyes widened and he leaned back to get a better look at Ayame. This was insane, yet very cool at the same time. He was going to get the heck out of the North Pole and he wasn't going completely alone, it was almost too much to think about.
A wide grin spread across his face. He was really happy that Ayame wanted to see her brother as much as he wanted to find his father; this was going to be a long journey.
"I can't go back to Shai with you, but I can understand if you want to say good-bye. Heck I would if I could, but... yeah." He looked back into the fire, relaxing into his original position. I'm coming dad, I'm sorry. He could almost see his fathers face in the flames of the fire, he smiled at the long forgotten memory of his fatherfs appearance. "You go to Shai and say your farewells to your family. I will be here until tomorrow morning." That should give her enough time, though if she didn't show by then he would just have to sail without her, the thought of that was very sad.

Ayame grinned at Namha, to show that she had considered it. She had, too. This was once in a lifetime; to travel around the Earth Kingdom. This was going to be amazing.
But she needed supplies, and more importantly, she needed to say good-bye to her loved ones. Oh, boy, how was she going to pull that off? I'll think of something, she thought, I always do, whether they're smart somethings or not....oh, spirits...
"I'll go back to Shai," she said to Namha, "And I'll say goodbye to everyone. I've also got some stuff we'll need for the trip." She got excited chills; she was really going to do this!
"I'll be back by morning, you can count on it," she said, still grinning from ear to ear. "Don't leave without me."
She put on her hood and walked out of the Inn.
::Ayame has left this area::
