There was a sort of lingering tension that Sunil could sense after that. He couldn't exactly read Tali's thoughts, but already figured out she was disappointed - it wouldn't take a wise sage who'd wandered the Si Wong for forty years to realize that one. From there on, Sunil didn't really expect Tali to be as happy or peppy as she was when they first met. Even if that necklace was real, what closure could that bring? It was odd to think that the existence (or survival, rather) of a single artifact could prove there were still airbenders. Realistically, what was the point?
Sunil, wisely, kept his mouth shut though. He still couldn't anticipate whether Tali would strangle him if he upset her once again, or if she'd burst into tears and make some huge scene. Sipping his tea slowly, the earthbender tried to figure out a few options, careful wording perhaps, that would enable him to handle the matter easily. He would take his time, however.

Honestly not even shrimp could cheer her up now, of course they smelled amazing but she wasn't going to bother him so get some comfort food, she'd live with her choices, she'd have to otherwise she'd look even more foolish. Finally after some moments of looking awkwardly at her lap she looked away resting her cheek in her palm and starring off towards the side of the resteraunt sparing the boys some distance between them and her somber behavior. She didn't want to be a downer. There was a lot to think about now. Like where to go or what to do, she supposed there
Perhaps the northern air temple could still be her destination, the temples were still there most likely, she might be able to climb up the mountains and at least see it. Even if there were no air benders there, that hurt more, but she was bringing the area around her down with her sullen aura. She didn't even try to laugh at the quip Shu-zu sent her way. She was in no mood for laughing or making merry, " What am I supposed to do now.." She whispered hopelessly to herself.

When their food came in a matter of minutes, Sunil ate quietly, stealing a few awkward glances between Shu-zu and Tali between bites. Everyone else seemed quiet from the time their meals came to the clinking of chopsticks on their empty plates, at a loss for words, no doubt sensing the same burden of discomfort. The whole ordeal was over, but the effects still remained in their own subtle ways.

After the bill was so kindly paid, Sunil and the other two were standing outside the inn where Sunil and Tali had shared a room (or were going to, anyway). At a slow, leisurely gait toward the building, he turned back at Shu-zu slowly and tilted his head a bit. Really, it occurred to him how his fellow merchant had never mentioned a room of his own, while Sunil and Tali had sufficient shelter for the night. It was...awkward, to say the least. Maybe Shu-zu would like to stay with them?
Sunil sensed no danger in having this fellow stay in the same room. He'd only met Tali that same morning, and was already rooming with her at the same inn. What was the danger? Maybe he was being a little too idealistic, a sort of cautious optimism. It was hard to tell whether Tali would be uncomfortable with the idea, but the room could always be divided by that handy-dandy paper screen. He would at least ask. "So, Shu-zu...we've got a room here," he gestured his thumb toward the place, "there's room for one more, if you don't want to shell out for a place of your own."

Shu-zu and company seemed to eat in silence. After crushing one’s dreams, it seemed not much would remedy the situation. After they had finished and he had paid, he grabbed up the reigns of his Ostrich-Horse and continued along with them. Perhaps they could be persuaded into finding him a room as well. After a small while, they ended up in front of an inn, and Sunil seemed to pause and think for a moment. Shu-zu really had no clue what was going through the tea merchant’s mind, but he had to restrain a grin when the man asked if he would like to room with them. It seemed his hospitality would be repaid in full, so he graciously thanked the man and offered to pay for his share of the room.
After proceeding inside, the receptionist seemed confused enough, but Shu-zu was able to ward away trouble with that almighty power that is money. After receiving another paper screen, he headed down to their room and opened the door. It seemed the room might end up a bit cramped with it being split two times, but he had no other choice. After setting up the second paper screen, splitting the room into three thirds, he unrolled his bedroll on the floor, said goodnight to the two and entered the bliss that is sleep.
(Shu-zu is outie. Tali has given me permission for Tali to be outie too.)
