Aden was both relieved and surprisingly let down that the girl wanted to go off on her own. Relieved becaused it saved him some time and a fair amount of walking, yet disappointed because he of the lost opportunity to to help her further. It was so rare that he ever convinced himself to go out on a limb for people that he almost felt foolish for having made the offer only to have it rejected. But even so, Aden was a strong willed individual, and he shrugged off those feelings soon enough.
"Very well," he said. The young warrior was about to bow and say a farewell when the girl unexpectedly stepped forward and pecked him on the cheek. Aden almost didn't react at first aside from suddenly forgetting that he was about to say something. For a heartbeat he just stared blankly forward as the girl collected her belongings and started to walk away. After she took a few steps, Aden shook his head slightly to break free of the lingering daze and did well to fight back a slight blush that was coming to his face.
"You're welcome," he called back before she was out of speaking distance. "It was nice meeting you...." he paused, suddenly realizing a very important detail, "Wait! I never got your name!"

She made no movement to keep the conversation going, if she did there was no doubt in her mind that she wouldn't make it home before dark. There might have been more time for them to talk if they'd met earlier in the day, total there were only about eight hours she could spend in Shai if she intended to make it before darkness settled in on the shelf. Though her meeting with the boy would defiantly be something interesting to write about, as opposed to her gloomy entries during the siege.
Before she was out of eat shot the boy yelled something to her, the typical your welcome, all the plesentries and then there was another thing, she paused, did he really not know her name? Well she didn't know his, she gave him nicknames when they were talking but that was about it. Still Desna was a little surprised, it seemed like a very base introduction that they had managed to skip right over. They didn't know much of anything about one another. Most people would think it odd but it only amused the girl.
With an impish smile tugging at her lips she glanced over her shoulder at the boy, only the slightest look with a small bit of amusement at the mystery speckled in her eyes. "That's because I didn't say it" Then she was gone int the crowd. Pikatti at her side with a long way to go.

Aden stared after the girl as she departed and was lost to the crowd. A slight huff of laughter escaped him, and he looked around him almost as if to see if there were other people who found it amusing. After she even bothered to kiss his cheek, the girl felt it necessary to remain anonymous? It almost crossed into the realm of rudeness, but still he couldn't help but chuckle.
The young warrior turned and started back toward his home, pausing at the top of the stairs to glance over his shoulder. After a few moments of searching he managed to spot a dog dragging a sled toward the Wall, and he figured that was them. However, he continued on his way soon enough. Aden subconsciously brushed his hand across the cheek she'd kissed, almost as if to remove any trace of it.
All the way back, he replayed the day's events in his mind. For some reason he couldn't help but wonder why she would kiss him and then not tell him his name... He was certainly not a social butterfly, but there were some things he knew people did when they liked you and some things they did when they wanted you to buzz off. This girl seemed to do both.
By the time he rounded the corner onto the street that would lead him to his house, Aden had convinced himself that the girl was simply toying with him. She seemed flighty enough to just act on a whim, and he realized he really probably couldn't take anything from her as a true reflection of her thoughts. It was strange, but somehow that conclusion brought both a sense of relief and annoyance. It meant that he could just forget about the girl and not dwell on the fact that she had severed what appeared to be a budding friendship... But it also meant that he was no longer distracted from his little bending problem.
