Aden's feature became an image of discomfort when Desna snuggled up against him. He was unused to anyone being this close to him, and his immediate reaction was to try and push her away. Despite the fact that she was a girl and significantly smaller than him, Aden had little reservations about prying her off by force.
The young warrior slipped his hand and forearm between himself and her grip, and then used it like a lever to force her arm away. Aden pushed her arms out and then grabbed her by the wrists to place them back at her sides where they belonged.
Her little quip about having slow reflexes only annoyed him further, and he did well not to shoot back with 'Well, for a girl....' Actually, he really couldn't think of something to say in return that wasn't an outright obscenity. His mind was really not in the right place for witty banter. Instead, Aden simply decided to ignore her and walk away like he had originally planned to.
He gave a slight huff of air, attempting to expel the negative thoughts he was holding back. Aden then offered a small bow toward the girl and said, to her and Pika as well, "Good day." Afterwards, he once more started to walk away.

Desna rolled her eyes, he was so quick to shoo off everyone around him. Her eyes trailed back to the appearant bending master getting the feeling he had his own plans for the day, or at least was quickly formulating them. Trotting alongside Aden for a few strides she let her hand out to pat him on the back but considering the height difference she hit another location entirely, not that she cared or recognized given the dress of most of the parka clad town folk.
She was a person who very much relied on touch, between people and things, too often people in the tribe were too stuck up to recognize such a base human need, it perplexed her endlessly. With her grandmother they were always holding hands hugging and at the very least allowing one another to feel, something, anything. Most people had such a wall around them, Desna wanted to feel available. In the warmth of her home she'd often loose herself in the texture of various leaves, carvings or cloth. Oh how much people took for granted in life.
A few steps ahead of Aden she turned around with a coy smile blowing a nearly charming kiss to each of the boys in turn before dramatically bowing and waving like an over excited child. " Have a nice day boys." Without waiting for much of a response she hopped up the last couple steps turning back only to whistle to Pikatti who, with the sled, began to work his way up to her location. The pair departed swiftly, Desna already winding herself up for another tangent, with the warriors back in town she knew a friend who would have a lot of stories to tell her.

Aden glanced out of the corner of his eyes as he heard Desna moving to follow him, but was surprised when he suddenly felt a slap on his behind. He stopped almost instantly and turned his head around to look at her. His brow was furrowed in both confusion and slight offense. Aden was not a very touchy-feely person by nature, and this girl seemed to enjoy pushing his threshold of patience today.
He turned away once more and started for the staircase, not bothering to respond to her final verbal farewell. The young warrior was ready to head and and try to put Pakku's advice to use. However, halfway down to the next tier of the city, Aden heard Pika's voice calling from behind. He paused slightly, wondering whether the other bender sought to simply taunt him further.
"Hold up," Pika said, quick-stepping down the stairs to catch up, "I was going to ask if you'd like to come to a little get-together my family is having." Aden's eyebrow twitched up in mild surprise. "It's nothing too fancy," Pika elaborated, "Just some family and friends celebrating the victory along with my younger sister's engagement."
Aden looked at him in silence for a moment, unsure of exactly how to answer. "Well..." he started to say.
"Busy, I take it?" Pika asked, the slightest edge of accusation in his tone.
"No, I... I guess I could stop by for a bit." A hand subconsciously went up to fidget with his side-braid. Aden wasn't sure exactly why he was allowing himself to be dragged to a party with people he barely knew.
"Great," Pika said with a smile, "Maybe you can help me show my brother-in-law how to actually bend like a man instead of that wishy-washy healing nonsense." The member of the Harta family smirked and clapped Aden on the shoulder and then started back up the steps. "Party starts around sundown."
"See you there..." Aden said unenthusiastically, returning to his own path toward home. He had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach that he would not enjoy this.
******************************************************************************
Summary: Aden and Pika met up later that night at his family's party. After refusing to show his brother in law Hebirei some bending moves, Pika eventually discovers the truth that Aden can't bend. Aden is about to leave, but Pika manages to convince him that his family has a store of a chi-enhancing tea from the Earth kingdom that could possibly help him regain his bending. Perhaps a little too desperate for a quick solution to his problem, Aden takes his word for it an has a few drinks of the stuff.
Unfortunately, Pika was lying and it was simply hard liquor. After a few shots, the two are practically hammered, and Pika comes up with the bright idea of tipping over sleeping buffalo-yaks. Having never even sipped a beer before, Aden goes along with him, and the two end up causing quite a disturbance in the stables. After a failed attempt to knock over a particularly large buffalo, the pair run for their lives and Aden is knocked clear over the corral wall by a headbutt to his back.
Aden managed to find his way home with Pika's help, and his parents were none-too-pleased by his state when he arrived in the middle of the night... Needless to say, it would have been a memorable adventure if he could actually remember any of it.
