Ryota looked over at Aden to see the expression he assumed, knowing that he was probably acquainted with the newcomer, seeing how they were close in age and both of the Northern Water Tribe. Aden's expression wasn't out of the ordinary, but he quickly turned to see Chamir dive and grab his own belongings, the ones which the newly arrived notherner's buffalo-yak almost chewed upon.
He snickered at Chamir's bumbling actions that one would probably expect from Ryota, as well as the subsequent words uttered by Chamir, mere cautionary words, perhaps, but a nagging feeling in the back of Ryota's head told him that Chamir perhaps held some hostility toward the beast. However, Ryota was not one to pick up on subtleties very well.
As things transpired to Chamir's introduction of himself to the northerner, Ryota chimed in immediately after Chamir, while making his way up to him. Extending his hand out to the young man, he added "...And I'm Ryota. Nice to meet you!"

Kavik rushed into to get his curious buffalo-deer from the Chamir's belonging and dragged him him back to his side. Kavik couldn't help but laugh at Chamir's comment. "I'm sorry, he's just been pent up for long time. He just wants to run around, but I'll keep a better eye on him." Kavik ignore some of the laughs from the group and turned to tie up Denali.
Chamir made his introduction as well as Ryota. Kavik smiled his brightest and shook both their hands. "It's nice to be welcomed and wanted." Kavik stated brighly. He couldn't help but blush at Ryota a nagging voice in the back of his head whispered. Ohh there kinda cute, I expecally the one with the big smile, but the turban guy, hmmmm Kavik was shook himself at the thoughts. No, not here, expecially not here. I am among manly guys, very manly guys....I need to be manly. Not thinking about how........cute...they...are This was going to be test of will power for Kavik
The young man walked back up to his boat and grabbed a tent and his bags. "Thank you again for the welcome." Kavik stated as he look for a place to pitch his tent.

Aden made it a point to keep a few other between his line of sight and Kavik. It wasn't that he particularly disliked his fellow bender, but he figured that if he caught his gaze and recognized him than he'd be likely to follow him around for a while. Now, Aden had been aware of his own slight change in behavior over the last week or so, but he hardly felt up to the task of entertaining one such as this.
As Chamir, then Ryota made their introductions, he casually stepped back further into the crowd of warriors. Behind him, he noticed the approach of Hakoda and Hissun along with their respective entourages of officers. They seemed to be interested in the intentions of this new arrival as well. Aden stepped aside to let them pass and took a seat outside of Ryota's tent.

Taking a moment to dust the wet sand from his knees before offering further introduction. "Is my father Jamil Osahar," guiding an open hand towards his father who stepped forward to greet Kavik.
Then shaking the sand from his hand. "And this here is," Chamir was about to continue. Taking a double take when he wasn't there, "...Aden?"
Looking around for a moment he found Aden had took a few paces back into the slowly gather crowd. An eyebrow raised, asking if Aden had previously somehow knew Kavik in some way. Yet, before Chamir could call Aden over the young waterbender had slipped around the incoming Hakoda and Hissun before setting off towards Ryota's tent.
As the two leaders came closer came closer Chamir threw a questioning, almost concerned look, towards Ryota before shrugging his head towards Ryota's tent. He then began stepping around the crowd, letting Hissun and Hakoda take forefront while he went to check on Aden who seated himself outside Ryota's tent.

The crowd approached quicker and quicker, close to assimilating up Ryota into its numbers. Ryota swept his gaze toward Chamir after spacing out for a second as Kavik was introduced to Jamil and almost Aden, but he snapped out of it when Chamir realized Aden wasn't there. Ryota quickly looked back at his tent, for some reason assuming Aden to be there, and sure enough, he was seated right near it.
As the troupe following Hissun and Hakoda continued forward, it forced Ryota off to the side. He would have stayed there for the time being if only he hadn't seen Chamir dredging his way around the people. He decided to do the same, since Chamir was probably going to where Aden sat, and Ryota wanted to be by his new "friends".
He forced his way through the crowds, only bumping into one person, which wasn't a big deal, and finally arrived at his own tent. Looking at Chamir and Aden, he smiled and said with a chuckle, "looks like my tent is pretty popular!"

The fisherman shook Jamil's hand and smiled again. "It's an honor to meet you and your son, accually it's nice to see friendly faces ermmm." Kavik noticed that the crowed of men gathering around Aden and Ryota, wanted to follow them but he dicided that he had importiant matters to attent to, like setting up his tent and feeding Denali.
Kavik pitched his tent aways from the group. It look odd to see a crowd of blue and there near a bluff a single deep blue tent. Kavik unrolled a his sleeping bag, and set out laid his bags inside the tent he took out a curry brush and comb and began to groom and feed his buffalo-deer.
Denali was munching in his feed bag of sweet oat and wild tundra grass. Kavik had his haulter on his arm and was currying the gnarls from his tawny coat. "There you go Den, lookin' better, See?" Denali gruntted in acknowledgement. "You think I should go and talk to that kid that Chamir was trying to introduce me? He looks like he might be my age." Denali snorted, "You're right I need to stop hiding in the shadows. I need to be more socible, but not too socible. Don't want to give my secret away." Denali nodded almost if he was agreeing. Kavik took off his feed bag and led him too stream that fed the bay. Denali drank his fill and Kavik finally hitched him up at his tent. "I'll give you a good ride later ok Den?" Denali kneeled and gave a short bugle.
Kavik walked up to Chamir, Ryota and Aden, whom he had not been introduced. "Hey guys, sorry I had to take of a few things. Denali's needs come first, I need his strenght for later. And sorry about your..umm....instrament Chamir, Denali is just curiorus he's still young only a couple of years, we just got him broke accually." Kavik scratched his head as he sat down. "I think I have seen you before. You're Aden right? From Master Pakku's class? I'm Kavik...It's nice too....well I guess see you again, but I don't think we really know each other." Kavik said cheerly

As Aden sat by Ryota's tent, watching the spectacle of Kavik's arrival from a distance, he decided to preoccuppy himself with the task of cleaning his knife. It'd had been a while since he'd even seen the need to unsheathe the weapon, and it could probably use a shine. The young waterbender untied the leather fastener that held the scabbard to his obi and pulled the whole apparatus from his side. He placed the knife, scabbard, and straps on his lap and looked over the whole thing.
Other than a bit of a smudge on the leather-wrapped scabbard, it looked to be in good condition. Aden gripped the handle, which was made of a large piece of ivory from the thick-skulled knucklehead trout from up North, and pulled the blade free. It had a unique shape for a water tribe weapon. Its blade was shaped into a gentle S-curve, and on it was inscribed a simple saying that was a part of Water Tribe philosophy: 'Strength through Unity.' It had been a long time since Aden had truly looked at the weapon that had been somewhat of an heirloom in his family for the last several generations. The saying seemed to ensnare his thoughts just a little more deeply this day.
"Looks like my tent is pretty popular!" Ryota's voice sounded nearby, alerting Aden to his arrival, as well as that of Chamir. The young waterbender offered the two a slight smile and wiped both sides of his knife across a fold in his right pant leg. From his cursory inspection, it seemed to be in good condition, and he'd already sharpened it less than a week ago during the march to this point.
"It's just such an appealing tent," Aden said, keeping his tone sarcastic yet light-hearted, "You must practice Feng Shui...." The little quip was quickly followed by the arrival of the newcomer to the camp. Kavik seemed to have found Aden's hiding place and swiftly moved into join the ring of familiar faces. As he remembered, Kavik had indeed been his classmate under Master Pakku. But already by the way the young man had started to prattle, it didn't to well to change Aden's pre-existing impression that Kavik's presence would test the limits of his sanity.
Luckily, though, he was saved from having to formulate a response by a Northern warrior who had approached the group from the direction of the command tent. "Kavik, son of Shona," he began, addressing the recent arrival, "I've been asked to welcome you formally to this camp by commanding war chiefs Hakoda and Hissun. Commander Hakoda grants you permission to anchor your ship and take refuge in the shelter of this camp for a time, and Commander Hissun extends his welcome to a fellow tribesman. At you liesure he would like to have a word with you to discuss any news from home that might be of signifcance." The warrior gave a curt bow then and bid the gatheredyoung men to carry on.

Was that a quip?
The touch of a grin easing on Chamir’s face and he sat down and begin to check his belongings. The raincloth that he wrapped the majority of them in was gnawed and roughly creased with bite marks, along with said marks and a few other portions of it were covered in drool. Chamir almost sighed at the sight, but it was only raincloth so there was no real problem. Especially compared too…
Bless the ancestors, thinking unto himself as he began giving a thoroughly discerning inspection of his grandfather’s pipa. It remained mainly unharmed. The outer edge of the rounded, teardrop shaped sound box was just being gnawed into yet the damage was only cosmetic. A small snarl formed on his lips at the drool from said area.
In between defensively cradling his pipa and careful cleaning off the drool with the drier areas of the raincloth he nodded at Kavik’s light apology, for what it was worth. The animal had not made enough of a meal of the playable heirloom to become part of the Southern man’s next meal. Attending to affairs he would leave the talking to Ryota and Aden who seemed to actually have none Kavik during their days at training to use their waterbending attributes.

Ryota made little response, perhaps only a small nod to Aden's retort about his tent and sat down close by Chamir's side when he arrived at the tent. The two others at the tent weren't up to much, Aden checking his fancy metal knife and Chamir checking with disdain over his apparently damaged musical instrument. It dawned on Ryota that he hadn't much to do, and he wasn't sure he wanted to disturb either of the warriors.
Now expecting a bit of boredom to set as he was to basically sit there, due to a lack of other activities, Ryota stayed where he was, sitting cross-legged and resting his elbows on his thighs. With his elbows still on his lower thighs, he leaned over on his open right hand. Soon thereafter, a stray lock of his own frizzy umber hair fall down over his face, and he blew upward on it a couple times before quitting the futile and trivial task. Ryota heaved a sigh.

Kavik nodded smiled and heard a warrior talk to him formally
"Kavik, son of Shona, I've been asked to welcome you formally to this camp by commanding war chiefs Hakoda and Hissun. Commander Hakoda grants you permission to anchor your ship and take refuge in the shelter of this camp for a time, and Commander Hissun extends his welcome to a fellow tribesman. At you liesure he would like to have a word with you to discuss any news from home that might be of signifcance." The warrior said to Kavik, the Kavik nodded and smiled with a tone of nervousness.
At that Kavik stood up and walked over to Hakoda and Hissun whom greeted the young man with favor. "It's an honor to meet you all, as well the war cheifs." "Any news of the North Kavik?" Hakoda asked to boy Kavik idly scratched his head and reported what he knew. "Trade is going well, and most of the soldiers are standing down, and holding up the city." Hakoda nodded, "Tell me child, why are you far from home?" Kavik smirked, "Well it's a long story, lets just say I had bigger plans." Hakoda nodded, "Well it's good have another warrior in combat, just remember do your far share around here. Understand." "Yes sir!" Kavik replied he was finished with war chiefs and headed back his camp and sat down looking pensive.
"Maybe I'll try to strike up a friendship with that Ryota kid."

Aden watched Kavik go in order to answer to the war chiefs, and when he was out of sight he said quietly to the others, "That one's a little... wierd." He gave a slight nod in his to indicate Kavik. "Just try to tolerate him, I suppose," he added, glancing out of the corner of his vision to make sure he wasn't being overheard. Aden's words might have sounded a little insulting, but he had the best interests of everyone in mind. Chamir and this new acquaintence, Ryota, both seemed like men's men; even if Chamir was quite loquacious. They grew up largely without some of the civilized comforts even Aden might take for granted, and he figured they would likely find Kavik's flamboyance a little overwhelming. They deserved to be forwarned, and Kavik deserved at least equal treatment. Hence, he had requested that they tolerate his behavior.
This was, of course, assuming that the recently arrived waterbender was the same as Aden remembered. Still sitting beside Ryota's tent, Aden glanced over his shoulder in time to see Kavik striding back toward the group, and he resheathed his knife.

“Weird?” Chamir confusedly questioned Aden’s comment. Yet Aden only gave him, along with Ryota, a brief admonishment for extrapolation in terms of dealing with Kavik. Chamir nodded in affirmation. He would tolerate Kavik as requested, for Aden’s sake if that is what his comrade wanted.
Weird? he mentally reiterated to himself. Momentarily turning to Ryota response and simply shrugging at the matter.
“Surely…” half heartedly suggesting, “Kavik will be of helpful assistance to us?” making a kind assumption towards the ill thought Kavik.
Shrugging he continued, “Speaking of assistance,” he turned back towards Ryota, “what did the Earth Kingdom assigned you so far in an out of the way place like this.” Letting his eyes sweep across the entire bay. “How often does the Fire Nation even take this route and it not like they are incapable of defending this bay themselves.” Turning his pipa to ensure he had rid off all the buffalo deer spittle. “I do believe their own ships and earthbenders can fare well enough given the lay out.”

Ryota, overcome with boredom, had sunk into a spacey state where he paid little attention to his surroundings. Only when he heard Chamir's voice sounding in his direction did he snap out of it.
Chamir raised a lot of questions about things to which Ryota never gave much serious thought, such as why the warriors of his tribe were stationed there in the first place. Ryota tapped his chin for a moment and assumed a pensive look. Why isn't the Earth Kingdom army guarding this place...?, he pondered, still tapping his stubble-covered chin.
He looked straight at Chamir and shrugged, replying, "I don't know why we were stationed here. That would be something to ask Hakoda or even the Earth King..."
He shifted now from sitting cross-legged to sitting with his thick legs sprawled out straight before him, propping himself up with his arms. After changing positions, he continued, "...Now as for the Fire Nation, they've come through here at least three or four times from what I can remember. We were able to fend them off each time, though. We're better on the water than they are..."

"You repulsed Fire Navy ships with just those four dhows?" Aden asked, his tone a little more incredulous than he'd meant to sound. He noticed it, though, and he quickly fixed his expression to something a little less questioning and added, "Or rather, what I mean is that it's impressive for such a small naval force to take on any of the larger ironclads in the Fire Navy... How many benders do you have?"
The young waterbender was leaning forward slightly towards Ryota as he inquired the specifics of their capabilities. He couldn't really think of too many ways that so few warriors with just a couple ships could repel a battleship or destroyer without the use of benders. Perhaps if they attacked at night and infiltrated the ship or simply found a way to disable the propellers... Either task would still be impressive to Aden, but he still longed to know the answer.

Methodic fingers ceased their administering of the pipa. A loving smile creased Chamir’s face upon hearing Aden sound rather incredulous and even wider as the young waterbender quickly amended his impressed statement.
Yet Chamir still kept his head down, rather than look up from his pipa. As proud as he felt towards his people and accomplishments, he could not help but feel embarrassment towards himself due to his decade long departure. Feeling a sense of cowardice towards himself while having pride towards his people.
“I do not think there are any,” Chamir gently inserted himself. “Before I left… I do not think there was a single bender birthed among the ones younger than I. However, from the stories I have been hearing about the Avatar—the two children of our people happen to be Hakoda’s children in fact—one of his companions, Hakoda’s daughter, is a waterbender. But she was barely three when I left. The only other benders our tribe may have are still children, yes?” turning to Ryota.
