Siihma smiled delightedly at that. Traveling freely did sound like fun, despite the price of leaving everything behind. Ai Ling sighed with ease and slipped her hand over Siihma's. With that, they proceeded down the familiar dusty trail and into the more crowded area of the village.
Most of the other civilians seemed determined to stick to their home place. Ai Ling understood that - she'd seen many cases like this. People wanted to defend their homeland. She could not feel the same way though. Despite living here for the past few years, her loyalty remained true to the water tribe.
As the approached the gate, a red clad man neared them, glaring reproachfully. Ai Ling smiled warmly and walked past them as if she intended to return soon. As soon as they were from the earshot of the man, she turned fearfully at Hikari. "I didn't think they'd be here so soon. At least we are no longer within their reach. I suppose it'd only be smart to move farther before settling for the night.."

Hikari followed Ai Ling and Siihma back down the gate. Perhaps we'll be able to get out of here now, she thought. At least Siihma smiled at bit after Hikari talked to her. That relieved her, things seemed to be looking up. As soon as they came close to the red clad man at the gate she narrowed her eyes briefly. She never had before been in such close presence with anyone from the Fire Nation. As soon as they walked passed him she responded to Ai Ling.
"I was quite surprised myself to see them come already. Yes, I suppose it would be better to go a bit farther," Hikari nodded and agreed. She was glad that at least she was out of the city and would be able to get back home soon enough.
Although she was slightly disappointed that she wasn't able to do what she intended to do in Omashu, Hikari still smiled while walking alongside Ai Ling and Siihma. Even though the trip to Omashu was starting to get dangerous. Nonetheless, it proved to be an exciting trip and Hikari was looking forward to traveling with Siihma and her mom.
