Did she earth bend? That was a silly question. Why, of course she did, and she loved it, too. On all occasions she'd love to defend her bending. But now was different. If she admitted to it, she'd probably be put into hard labor, and that was a path she just didn't want to go down. House-hold labor was what she was schooled in, and, in fact, she loved cooking. So working in the home of a fire nation citizen would probably not be all that bad.. so long as she listened to orders, and if her master was not too harsh..
Her master.. she'd be a slave the time she got off the ship..
"N-no, I don't bend," Fuu lied, but rather convincing. Her cheeks were red with her crying, and streams of tears had smudged the eye make up on her face. She had so desired the freedom of herself from her father, the irons that now bound her gave her more inner troubles.
"I.. wont.."
Not long after she was taken to a cell with some maids she recognized working on the ship, as well as a few noble daughters. Even so, she didn't speak to them. It was clear that her father had been left on the ship. It was clear that he.. he was..
Dead.
All the family she had was dead. Craddled up in a little ball in the back of the cell she cried. She just began to let it all out, not even noticing the rest of the desperate women clinging to the bars of the cell and ducked in the shadows.

"What about those survivos, Sir?" A soldier pointed out to Long, near the shore about 4 people were reaching the shore. "Let them live, they can tell stories on how they saw the ferocity of the Fire Nation this day."
Long turned his back to the ones on the shore, boarded back onto his ship as the specialy armored soldiers came back over, their arms empty. One saluted Long and handed him a very long length of twine. "We're ready to go,' the soldier told Long, "Very good, have the helmsman put us out to sea."
The Fire Nation ship pulled away from the Earth Kingdom ship, the EK ship was beaten and bruised and yet the finishing blow was yet to come. The length of twin was dangling over the edge limply, until Long himself threw a fireball at it, igniting the twine. Then it burned and followed a trail down into the bowels of the EK ship, twisting and turning until it reached the barrels.
During this time though, the FN ship was speedily escaping from the EK ship, to avoid damage.
Boom.
The EK ships hull blew open below the water as a significant splash erupted from the ship. And fairly quickly, where an EK ship was docked, it sank like the rock the Earthbenders use so lovingly to bend.
The fleet set out, weaving through the islands of the Southern Air temple and ocne again breaking out into open sea. The south pole was but a day or two away now.

[BGM: Sanctuary by Utada Hikaru from Kingdom Hearts II]
It wasn't hard to tell that the Fire Nation had destroyed the Earth Kingdom ship.. her ship. Not only could you hear the explosion it made, but the gentle rockings of the ship was magnified, even if they had gotten some distance. Curled up in a ball in the corner of her cell, Fuu swayed back and forth by the ripple of power. Holding back hot, salty tears by biting down hard on her pale lips, she buried her head as much as possible in her chest. It was hard for her to breathe knowing. It was hard for her to keep her composure knowing. It was hard for her to accept this nightmarish reality knowing. It was hard for to think towards the future knowing..
Knowing that her father was one of those unfortunate souls who had been doomed to the end of their life on that ship, destined for their souls to wander and their bodies to rot away at the bottom of the ocean until there's nothing left but memories of them in the hearts of loved ones.
Her heart hadn't even told her father that despite how he restricted her, that she loved him. After the death of her mother, she had felt that no one she could possibly love in the same way. Yet, she really, truly loved her father in the same genuine way. Though it took a different portrayal, and though it took a devastating moment like this for her to realize it.. she did truly love him.
"In you and I there's a new land, angels in flight. My sanctuary, my sanctuary.. Where fears and lies melt away. Music inside, what's left of me.. What's left of me now.."
Slowly she rose her head. That song, that tune.. Her mother had sung it to her as a lulliby so long ago. Yes, she could picture it. Her mother ran her warm fingers through her hair as her soft lips sung the beautiful lyrics.
"I watch you fast asleep, all I fear means nothing.."
She remembered how safe she felt in those arms, how she felt like she had all the strength in the world. It truly was like a sanctuary.
"In you and I there's a new land, angels in flight. My sanctuary, my sanctuary.. Where fears and lies melt away. Music inside, what's left of me.. What's left of me now.."
Her mother's beautiful voice, so pure.. She could almost hear it now, ringing gently through her ears. She could almost feel her mother whispering the song into her ears, the little breeze tickling them ever so delicately.
"My heart's a battleground."
No arguments for that day mattered as soon as her mother tucked her away in bed with the song. Nothing seemed impossible to heal.
"You show me how to see, that nothing is whole and nothing is broken."
Peace and purity transferred through the song almost into her very soul. Nothing is whole, nothing is broken.
"In you and I there's a new land, angels in flight. My sanctuary, my sanctuary.. Where fears and lies melt away. Music inside, what's left of me.. What's left of me now.."
By now, the now-grown girl layed against the corner of the cell. A shadow casted hid her from the outside world of distress and tears, of heartbreak and pain. Nothing existed now but the lulls of sleep, the peace of her song still echoing through her ears. Fuu's eyes had slowly shut, bringing about the enchantment of dreams and sleep.
"My fears, my lies, melt away..."
