One of the Fire Nation ships had docked with the ice, it's metal plank lowered, on the ice itself, huddled over a map of the south pole were 4 men, 1 dressed in a winter combat version of FN uniform and the others in a makeshift camo versions. (From killing a pack of residential polar bears.) "This is your patrol area, you have 3 days to scour this land here. Our spyglasses from the ships spotted a small wife of smock coming from this direction, so check this out." The man dressed in the FN winter combat unfirmorm said, marking the map accordingly as he spoke with an ash pencil. The smoke he indicated came from the east of their current position.
"Before you set out, there are two other teams out here also, spaced to cover as much coastline as possible in the time you were given. Our ships will also cover coastline, do a far away patrol, we hope to do at best spook any locals not covered in your searches." With that the unfirom clad man handed the map to the central camo man and saluted, to which the group saluted back. "Remember what you were trained for, come back alive. And we'll be one step closer to going home."
All 3 of the men nodded as the unfirom clad man walked back onboard to the ship. Each camo men slung over their shoulder a back of supplies and weapons, survival tools around their waists and belts, and a few on hand small weapons. One was sporting a bow and arrows, his position as an archer. The lead camo men started by walking inwards, leading the others over their route to scout out the area.
Their only connection to the Fire Nation was setting sail now, soft plumes of smoke emitted like fog from the smoke stack as the ship turned around and headed otu to sea.
