What do you look for in an RPG? Does Feng Shui cover this? Is there anything else you would like to see here, be it major or minor?

I look for storyline, character development, and walls of text that are pages long. Like...Uh...Like this: boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=2000115&topic=25376920...Because...I like to torture my eyes. Good writing's nice to have, too. Feng Shui does have character development (from what I've seen; the topic I posted in has not seen a reply yet), but not as much storyline (well...It's a relatively simplistic plot once you understand it), and a few walls of text. And friendly people who aren't elitists, unlike where I come from. Uh...Can't think of anything else I'd like to see here...I think the site's good enough as it is. Nice work, Xia.

Well, I'm still new to RPing so I can't say anything about that, but I joined Feng Shui to improve my writing skills (and have fun ^_^). Maybe we could have a place where people could post comments/constructive criticism on the RPGs. Just throwing out ideas...

There are many things that go into a sucessful RPG...
Well when I look at the RPG, I look for a good storyline of course. But sometimes when you have a very broad storyline, like the Avatar one or any other show RPG, it's also very enjoyable because so many different things can happen and you can try out for people you enjoy watching.
However, I think the three most important things to have in a RPG are friendly people, skilled writers, and activeness.
I will not go into a RPG if the people are snobby jerks. I think that is fairly obvious. Roleplaying is about having fun, and you cannot have fun if people are mean to you or are trying to control you. Feng Shui has a friendly atmosphere.
This place is also fairly full of experianced writers, and FS is also a place I consider a growing place; it's full of a friendly atmosphere where critism and help is always avalible to try to boost up a person's skills. The profile acceptance process is an example. Just getting your profile accepted is helping you grow once critism is given. Skilled writers, or writers who are at a similar level, help everyone have a good time.
Activeness is important because you can't have a growing RP if people don't post. We may have a little problem with that here. There are people here who are regular posters, but there are a lot who aren't. However, this is a quality that can take time.
Overall, this place is what I consider a flourishing RPG. It's really good and has a nice atmosphere and layout, but it's still growing. But watching a RPG grow is a fun thing to watch in my opinion. Especially if you have been around awhile like I have.

the posts on this board are VERY old but where better place to post when you are bored I think on Feng Shui the ppl should really pay more attention to the bending because the martial arts and philosiphies behind them are so interesting and important to the plot of Avatar e.g. waterbendings is not aggressive or forceful, firebending is not fluid or"soft" and earthbending is not quick and evasive
