Okay, I think I figured this whole DETAIL thing with profiles. Check this one I got from SH: uzunaru.proboards75.com/index.cgi?board=apprchars&action=display&thread=1145713871He didn't do the best job with the detail. Sure, he used fifty lines to describe the outer rim of his character's personality and history, but he didn't dig up the fruit inside. DEPTH. So...that's my figuring. Profiles need depth more than length. That's why a few of the ones here were accepted when there was a little over two paragraphs in their history. The ones without depth are like half a browser page long. (No offense.) So...is this right?

Your concept is a good one. Depth is important in profiles, because it is the building block of how people see your character. But even though depth is a good -concept- there are many elements that make length equally as important. For instance, to a certain extent, you can't have a deep profile without a lot of length. If you want to describe a lot, it takes up a lot of space.
It's also good to have length because it shows your literacy/roleplaying ability. Type two 'deep' sentences, and you're most likely not going to get accepted into the site. When the awesome Jia, Rairii, and Xia view profiles, they look for depth and length in profiles. Of course, they are very lenient with people, and have a ton of patience, which may be why the quality of profiles varies depending on the skill of the roleplayer. They look for the best in that particular roleplayer. Sometimes they aren't good enough, that's when general rejection comes into play.
Overall, both depth and length are of equal importance, with some exceptions.

Ozai's *cough*MY*cough* Angels deserve so much. They do so much work, and the work they do isn't easy. Yet they take such pride, such enthusiasim (most of the time, at least) in it.
Not only that, I tend to drag them to every site I make, which add to their workloads...
*HUGGLES* I LUFF you three!!
