I remember seeing somewhere an episode description of The Failure and I thought it was a retelling of Iroh's first attack on Ba Seng Sei. It would give us some insight onto exactly why he left and perhaps illuminate his son Liu-Ten a little bit more. It might even show his journey into the Spirit World, as alluded to by Zhao in 'Siege of the North.' The title Failure could really refer to anyone or anything. Either the Gaang fails to protect the city, the Fire Nation fails to take it, Aang fails to find Appa, etc... We'll just have to wait and see.

SPOILERS
Ive seen two description of this episode and Im personally gonna go woth a combination since one focuses on Iroh and Zukos half and the other about Aangs gang
Zuko & Iroh: This one tells of flashbacks about Irohs visit to the spirit world his son and his failure at Ba Seng Se ("The Failure"...maybe some connection) Also supposed to be a battle between Avatar Kyoshi and Avatar Roku in the spirit world [1]
Aang's Gang: The eclipse is nearing and they still haven't told the Earth King of the eclipse since they are in Long Feng's prison (this supports my theory of him being traitorous scum) they are released by a surprising person *Cough*Zuko*Cough*
The reason for me believing its Zuko is simply, we know he'll join them sometime, why not make it on the season finale to prepare for the next season, and Zuko has become less and less of a bad guy ever since The Blue Spirit we have even seen there roles reversed many times like in the Storm where his banishment resulted from an act of patriotism and care for other people and Aang left because he simply didn't want to be the Avatar rejecting his duty to keep peace. What im tryin to say is it wont be long before Zuko is a full fledged good guy its bound to happen and I believe he will contribute to Aangs learning firebending for the above stated reasons and the fact that his firebending skills have been improving rapidly this season.
[1]: You may remember Aang not being able to airbend in the spirit world but he wasn't technically in the spirit world he was a spirit in the human world so it still remains a possibility that you can bend in the spirit world
