This rant is primary for Text base forum RPs. But this also for those who write fanfictions because it trend there too.
Ok folks you decided that you want to make an ava-verse. Ok wonderful, join the countless other bimbos who do the same. But let me run some stuff by first.
World of Four Nations (Aka Ava-verse) is not JAPAN!
I don’t know what you Otaku retards have been smoking but it’s defiantly not helping the fandom. In Ava-verse the names are a little more diverse, a lot actually. We have Inuit sounding names, like Hakoda and Arnook, we have Chinese names ah hoy too like Long Feng, Li, Teo, Jin, Aunt Wu and Yue. Hell, Toph is Hebrew! But as for Japanese names, yeah they got them too, Suki, Kenji (the zookeeper) and Haru. But not ever goddamn person in Ava-verse has bloody Japanese name.
Sure you can have characters named something Japanese, Umi has nice ring and Hoshi is cute. But c’mon people would it kill to have something in Sanskrit/Hindi? I mean I would love it if character is named Amala or Dipak? Or something in Thai, like Pakpao? What about Korean? Hell we have Song as proof that. You could try something Tibetan for Air Nomads? Crap! If Gyatso is any proof that the writers use Tibetan or something similar.
The point of it all is? People, Suethors, and Noob RPers, it wouldn’t kill you to get to www.behindthename.com and look at some other nationalities for names.
