Lin finally got deep enough into the wilderness to finally be alone: At least for now. She knew, that someone was always there, to break the silence.
Boo ...Like the voices.
Aww.. COME ON! Can I be alone... for once? Lin thought, annoyed to death. Lin sat down on a rock, and buried her face in her hands. I should never have left the North Pole... Lin thought. She sighed, and thought again. But then the voices would probably bug me there as well... Now she had nowhere else to turn. She might as well either go back to the north pole and get in trouble with her brother, like always, or wandering around the Earth Kingdom forests and risk her life.
Wandering around the forests it is then... she thought, but she decided to stay put for a little while. After her argument with Sakurako, she needed to calm down.

Iroh walked out of Zuko's average-sized ship with his hands in his sleeves humming a simple tune from Music Night. He walked on the wooded port as the new spring sun beat down on his head. As he got closer toward the towering trees, he heard a few chattering girls and other teenagers. The continued walking straight into the forest on the curvy stoned path.
The shade from the tall trees soothed the old uncle, as well as the sounds from some of the animals. He thought it was natural and tranquil. Later on his walking he spotted a young girl in her early teens who seemed like she was from the water tribe. Oh, this may be akward ... Iroh said to himself. He didn't know if he should ignore her, say hi, or turn back... he just continued he walk.
As Iroh got closer to her, she noticed that she is almost the age of the waterbender girl he saw in the North Pole.
He couldn't resist.
"You seem to be alone. Is something the matter?" Iroh asked kindly, yet strongly.

Lin jumped, suprised that she didn't hear him coming.
"Gah! Where did you come from?!" She leaped up to stand on the rock, and grabbed her bow and an arrow. Nocking an arrow and drawing it back, she aimed for the old man, her eye twitching.
Your eye twitches? Cool... The voices said,
Shut up. she thought. The old man seemed harmless, but something bothered her about the old man. Though he was old and er... fat, she knew that he could be fire nation. She kept her arrow pointed at the old man, ready to release it and grab another arrow. But her eye wouldn't stop twitching.
"Who are you, and how did you find me?" Lin asked, in a serious tone. Pffft, how hard is it to find a teenage Water Tribe girl in an Earth Kingdom wilderness? she thought, answering her own question.

Iroh wasn't surprised that she shot the arrow in the stream. "I guess you are not a bender then!"
Iroh chuckled and took his hands out of his oversized sleeves. He was laughing for two reaons. Was was that he eye continued to twitch! That was so funny! It just made him laugh for some reason. The second reason was she metioned war. War had obviously been seen through Iroh's weak eyes and something he couldn't forget. She is a young teen who is talking about war? Well, times have changed, and she may not even know what's she's talking about.
Then Iroh burst into laughter when Lin got into a waterbending stance. "So, you are a waterbender, eh? Well, I know some waterbending techniques, though I'm obviously firebender. And if you knew who I was, you wouldn't have made that action you just made. Don't worry, though. I promise I won't hurt you."

Lin panicked for a moment, then saw a stream close by. She aimed the lit arrow at the stream, and released it, putting out the fire.
What a waste of an arrow... she thought. She was right, he was a firebender...
"I have my reasons why I'm here, and I don't think you'd believe me either. I know there's a war going on..." she said.
Lin leaped off the rock and got into her bending stance, with her eye twitching a bit. But what was an old fire nation man doing around here in the first place? Another question is, what was a water tribe girl doing around here as well?
Yes... that is quite a good question...
You just love reading my mind, don't you? Lin thought.

"Well, who are you in the first place?!" Lin said, still very confused at the old man. Why was he laughing at her?
Because that stupid eye of yours won't stop twitching. Lin thought, answering her own question. the old man began to annoy her, because he was making fun of her. Oh, how she simply hated to be made fun of. It reminded her of those days where her older brother and his friends always made fun of her because she was a girl with waterbending ability, which was what they thought useless, since they lived up in the North Pole.
She had enough of him. She didn't care who he was. She took the water from the nearby stream and hurtled it at him with waterbending, like a flying tidal wave. Still unsatisfied, she waterwhipped him from behind. Her blood began to boil; she's gone mad.

Iroh, drenched with water warmed himself up a bit my holding some flames around him body. "Are you asking for death? Because you're not going to die, not from me, at least." Iroh chuckled again. "Right now, I can't say who I am." He was careful not to give his real identity. Azula now seemed to be everywhere. Her posters were seen in every corner of the villages with Iroh and Zuko's name on it. Their faces hanging on many walls made Iroh realize to maybe... eh... fib.. about who he really is. "But for now, you can call be Uncle Chang! Many people mistake me for that Iroh guy who is a traitor of the Fire Nation. I do agree that we look almost the same, but I haven't even met him yet... or that banished hot-tempered Prince.
"Anyways, I can be on my way now, unless you need anything... I can tell you one thing you may need. Control of your weapon. Only a quarter of that tidal wave hit my ... well... wide body and the rest on the ground, seeping down." Iroh was bored at his day off from Zuko-sitting. Talking to someone completely new may make his day a bit more interesting!

Lin let her arms hang at her sides.
"Uh..." the fact that she was confused went with the fact she didn't really have anything to say.
"It's not my fault, old man. I admit I've got a temper that I lose control of." she wanted to say to him. Uncle Chang? What the heck?! Lin tilted her head a bit, seeing as he does look a bit like the picture she saw on a tree when she was passing by it.
"Why not? Because maybe you are that old man I saw on the poster?" she said, raising an eyebrow. Now it's time for her to try and talk this old man into giving out who he really was. I mean, Uncle Chang, COME ON! You've gotta be kidding me. she thought. She crossed her arms and scowled.
"Well... Who asked you about how I did that move?!" Lin said.

Iroh sensed some feeling that this girl just wanted to stop talking with the old man.
Then when she was surpised about the "Uncle Chang" thing, so was Iroh. How could a little girl know about that? "Erm, well... Okay. I confess." Iroh now had a change of mood... nervousness. This girl seemed to be clever and Iroh could be talking to someone that could turn him in.
"Look. I know you just want to move on and how about we just forget this akward conversation. We'll forget this all happened return to our own problems. This was all just an akward thing..."
Iroh began to step back. He turned around, put his hands in his sleeves, and began walking back to Zuko's ship. "Good luck with your Waterbending!" he called back. What was her next move? Would she strike him or just leave him. Iroh has never been so nervous since his days at Ba Seng Se. And with a little girl! How akward...

Lin calmed down for a minute or two. Turn him in, or let him go? He seemed kind enough to let go... yet she might be able to turn him in. What was the point of turning him in, anyhow? She probably woldn't have much use of the reward anyhow.
She decided to turn around and start walking another way. This old man somewhat made her temper go off, and that wasn't what Lin was looking for. She decided to go somewhere else that's peaceful, and leave the old man alone. She didn't want to cause trouble; at least, not now.
"Good luck with your waterbending!" ran through her head again. Maybe she should practice a bit as well. After all, he did say it only hit him a bit. She needed to learn to control her temper if she wants to focus when she waterbends.
