Erlang was aware of the throbbing at the base of his skull, not the most glorious awakening but it was better than not waking up at all. As his brain tried to rewire itself into conscious order he became aware of the feeling of movement. Though at the moment complex thought was beyond his reach he vaguely recognized the texture of feathers against his face. As he veered in and out of coherent thought he became aware that he was on Kweh’s back. With some effort he moved his head up to look forward, when there weren’t tiny dots of light dancing in his sight he was able to make out the form of a tall figure leading Kweh along. He would have been able to detect multiple persons also walking nearby but a particularly painful throb caused his head to lower again.
In front of them the large water tribe warrior looked back at the bloodied but breathing figure. “Hakoda will want to see him when he wakes up, heard those Tiger unit‘s are big on spying.”

Chamir turned from a smell a breeze traveling along Chamelon Bay wafted under his nose.
"Iigheeh," cruddling his nose just after sniffing hands for a hint of what remained.
Earlier this scent had tasted of iron and salt, fresh and pouring from the Earth Kingdom soldiers' wounds. Later came something sour as it dried, like rotting meat tinged with rust. Now wearing a thigh length, foldover sleeveless shirt since his other was now drying in the sun after being repeatedly and obsessively washed after being drafted into medical assistance. And then there was the same dedication to washing his hands as they became a bright red and wrinkled at the fingertips.
Could be difficult, Chamir thought to himself and his ability to blot out the red mess and stench so he could eat. Better not ruin my dinner, strapping two cateens of water around his shoulder as his thoughts grumbled at the wounded Earth Kingdom soldier that trudged here atop an ostrich-horse to this Water Tribe camp.
Tiger Cavalry, he heard the man being called. What kind of tiger? Lifting a stewpot from the fire near the camp's de facto medical tent.
I'll probably finish them myself, though knowing himself that would be an impossible task to carry out.
"Still alive?" Good naturedly questioning as his uncovered head poked into the tent. "If you aren't then you can't be fed until the Hungry Ghost Festival," being facetious as he came into the tent, setting two wooden bowls before each of the soldiers.

It was time to return.
After traveling for another week, Kavik decided it was time to go back home. It was a tough descion and one that he thought through this time. He was disappointed at himself, more for not being able to find Hoji even more so for not being able to tough it out. Feeling like a fool and a failur he only prayed that his father will still be able to look at him in the eye.
The bay was in front of his sights, he knew if he could find and repair his ship that was probably still there he could get going home, he didn't know if the water warriors will still be here or whoever would be still occupiying the bay but we was going to find out. Now over looking the bluff he was on months ago he saw the exspanse of the shore. Sure enough there was Earth Kingdom but he didn't reconize the flags and there was Water Tribe, however he did reconize those.
Coming down from the bluff, headed to the shore. Wrikinling his nose he smelt both the sea and something else like something was rotting. Denali tossed his head as the buffaloyak now reached the shore. Kavik wonder how he was going to present himself to people here and show he wasn't an enemy.

The soldier sat quietly with his legs crossed under him with his head down. His bloodied clothing had been taken and replaced with simple trousers and a shirt of varying shades of blue (had had no memory of this occurring). His armor and weapons were also gone, which made sense of course, they didn’t know who he was or what his intentions were.
But they had patched him up. When he had awoken he found the pain lessened though it was still severe and his wounds cleaned and dressed. He had removed a portion of the wrap on his arm to examine the wound and found it to be stitched and dressed with far more skill than any in his unit could muster. He had just finished retying the wrap when a man poked his head in.
"Still alive? …If you aren't then you can't be fed until the Hungry Ghost Festival."
Unfortunately the mans humor was lost on Erlang who only watched his quietly as a bowl of food was placed in front of him. Erlang eyed the food for a moment, the water tribe didn’t seem the kind to resort to poison so it was probably safe.
“…Where am I?”

"On Earth," Chamir facetiously replied. "Among the living. In your kingdom." he continued. "And finally, along the shores of what you people have named Chameleon Bay."
"Now then," letting his legs shoot out from under him. His rump landed heavily atop the tents fur rug and dented into the sand underneath. "Quit your talking and eat something first," crossing his legs underneath him then sliding off the leather canteens from a shoulder and skipping one close to the wounded man.
"Better to have some strength in your body and a warm meal in your belly before you're sociable," reaching for his own bowl of stew and placing it in his lap. "And if you're trying to remember how you came here," taking a sip from the bowl, "Your ostrich-horse--which is outside by the wide--trotted your beaten form down here where we dragged you into this tent and they had me help to save your life and stitch you up while you did your best to bleed to death on my clothes," a hint of annoyance tapping into his voice.

The sound of Denali’s hooves echoed as Kavik walked down the edge of the bluff to the sea, first thing was first he had to announce himself to water-tribe here and to show that he was friendly and then he had to find his boat so he could at least repair it and get his butt back home. The though of home made him frown, he didn’t know how his father was going to take to him, or his sister. Sighing the waterbender waved to the men and indroduced himself
“I’m Kavik son of Shona, I was here months ago I don’t know if you all remember me…” He trailed of as some men nodded. Kavik began to look around to see if anyone was in charge. He notice however the flags for a Earth Kingdom troop but like previously even with a better look didn’t recognize him.
“Can anyone tell me who’s in charge

"In your kingdom... along the shores of what you people have named Chameleon Bay."
Erlang grimaced, other than sparse flashes of being led along by blue clad figures he could remember nothing of how he came to this place. He remembered retreating after the clash with the fire nation army. They had been trying to regroup and treat their wounds, as well as dress the bodies of two comrades who hadn't made it. The unit had been disoriented when they made camp and were unable to mount a proper defense when a squad of fire benders ambushed them. Erlang could taste bile at the mere thought that Fire Nation soldiers had been able to catch them unawares.
He couldn't remember the details of how he escaped but he could remember ordering the group to separate and head to Ba Sing Se before an arrow tore into his shoulder. He could also remember receiving the gash on his arm as he tried to break through the infestation of soldiers, the other wounds were a blur though. The man interrupted his thoughts.
"Your ostrich-horse--which is outside by the wide--trotted your beaten form down here where we dragged you into this tent and they had me help to save your life and stitch you up while you did your best to bleed to death on my clothes"
The annoyance was lost on Erlang who was looking at the floor in thought, it seemed like his strange eyes were trying to burn a hole in the ground. His arrival made sense now, Kweh would automatically head for Ba Sing Se but with Erlang unable to direct him he had gone off track. After a moment he gave a mental shrug, he had to assess his situation.
"My arms and armor?"

"We probably could have sold them. Along with your ostrich-horse outside as well," Chamir said, pulling open the tent flap to try and show the soldier where the creature was out there amidst the bright glare of the afternoon.
"Or use them ourselves instead. If you didn't live of course. But that plan can now be tossed in the refuse pile, of course," stating in mock-disappointment as he sat back.
"So you can just sit back for a while," Chamir said, "Eat up. Rest up. Heal up. Then you can go about your way as need be, as you like, as you see fit," then taking a drag from his food bowl.
"Besides, in your current condition you can do little to nothing--next to nothing--unless you plan to just harm yourself again. Or just plan on dying. Lot of use you'll be to your kingdom if you take that route, friend."
