Her eyes continued to eye the shrouds, and at Reed's voice, Jialing turned. A grin was on her face, and her eyes were bright as the wind whipped her hair. She gave the mast one look, before lifting an eyebrow. "..No way!" With that, Jialing sprang onto the railing that ran along the hull, and grasping the woven ropes, swung herself to the outside. The young woman quickly scaled the shrounds of the main mast, grabing each rope under handedly to climb her way up the rope. "I'll handle the Tops of the sails!" The grin that was on her face though, could mean one of two things. Either she would seriously help.. or goof off." It took a good few minutes to reach the boom and the top of the sail. Grinning, she sat in the shrouds which came from the hull to the mast, braced against the wood with her feet as she messed with something.
Jin, meanwhile, ran circles around Reed and the mast, barking his head off.

Reed looked over to Kai then up to Jialing then to Kai, "Tell me that your men can do what she just did." Kai just held on to his hat and looked up to Jialing. "Thought so," Reed said walking over and rough housing with Jin. "Well ok then, that's done." Reed said just standing looking up to Jialing. "Nice Jialing! Come on down! I'm sure the Captain has somethin' else yo- I mean us to do!" Reed said beckoning for her to come down. Kai called over to Reed, "Reed, I need to talk to you down in the study." He said walking down the stars to below deck. Reed also started down as she sounds of cheering for Jialing and not to mention some whistling (whistling like when guys she a pretty girl).
Reed opened the door to the study, "What'd you want to say?" Reed asked walking in and shutting the door. The twenty two year old took off his hat, “Reed, Nadai Island isn’t home anymore,” He said sighing, “Well not to be out of the loop but, I never lived on Nadai.” “Reed, be serious. Nadai isn’t what it’s like when you last came.” “What’d you mean?” Reed said completely serious. “You know dead man’s alley? It’s now the safest alley.” Reed eyed Kai oddly then Kai pulled out a scroll, “Go on.” Kai said tossing him the scroll. “Read it.” Reed untied it and opened it up. Reed scanned through it, “What is this?” His voice filled with disgust. “That is all of Nadai’s new laws.” “Garbage! All of it!” Reed yelled ripping it to shreds. “All those rules are for the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation peasants. All except those who live on Kinjo (the real name of dead man’s alley) and the north side of the island,” Kai said rubbing his eyes. “But the only way to get to Kinjo is through the busiest streets where all the Earth Kingdom soldiers patrol. Listen Reed, once you and Jialing get to the shores of Nadai go to through Kinjo and get your selves some Turisia’s. Ride North until you hit the border of the north side. Here’s a map,” Kai said handing him another scroll, “Just follow it and you’ll be fine. We’ll be there in a little more than an hour. Good luck.”

Jialing hadn't exactly been doing anything with the sails. Actually, she had broken loose the Halyard of the main sail (the specific rope that lifts and drops a sail). With very careful balance, something she struggle with, the young woman stood with a hand against the mast. Grinning from ear to ear, She looked down across the deck and the bow of the ship. Her hands tightened around the rope and with a breath in, she jumped! The Rope quickly tightened and with her forward momentum, swung her out to the bow of the boat and then back across to the stern end. On her second pass, her feet brushed the deck and she dropped forward into a roll.
Popping out of it, she landed with a thud on her rear-end, Looking worse for wear. Her sepia-toned hair was wilder than before, sticking out from her head like she had been shocked. Her brown eyes were slightly dazed as Jin raced up to her and threw his paws against her chest, knocking her back on the ground.
"Well.. That was stupid but fun.."

Reed made his way up to the deck. The map in one of his hands, and the other skimming through his thick, brown hair. The sun was going under the horizon and they were getting closer to the island.
The sky darkened and the moon glowed above their heads. The members of the crew were all on the deck drinking rum or moonshine or some other kind of alcoholic beverage. Reed walked over to the gathering and sat down and rested his arm on his knee. The crew members were all laughing and telling stories. None of them were drunk yet except for one but he had a little too much and blacked out.
“Jialing that was some handy sail work you did. Not to mention your exit,” One sailor laughed. “Hey boys, I say we give this sailor a real sailor name!” He said pointing to Jialing. The men thought on it. “…..Jia?” Reed suggested. “No, No, no! That’s a girly name!” ‘Well she is a girl,’ Reed thought. “I got it! Jialing, on this ship, you’re Shroud!” The men all cheered in agreement. “Well? What do you think?” One sailor asked Jialing.

Jialing lifted an eyebrow, having been seated among the drunken men but herself without a drink. It was amusing to watch them make fools of themself. Jin lay at her feet, snoring away and relatively exhuasted from the last few days. The loud singing and laughing did little to disturb him. Jialing's eyes darted to the side under her stringy, dark hair, to catch Reed approaching for a moment, before her attention turned back to them. She winced. and chuckled dryly at the nick name they had assigned to her. "Uh... Nah. I'll just stick with Jialing.." She hadn't done anything amazing.. just climb the shrouds, get on the boom, unhook the main sail from it's Halyard and ride the halyard down.. She had infact caused them more trouble because now they'd have to fish the halyard and rehook it to the sail. If they even noticed it right away.
With a sly grin crossing her face, her warm, brown eyes narrowed and she lifted a hand in a beckoning gesture to Reed. She had missed his company all evening.. being stuck with the ruffians. She had already narrowly avoiding being pulled into a bar fight.. and She had beaten two of them at drunken pai-sho..

After Jialing’s kind but clear rejection, most of the sailors all gave out a small chuckle, putting their hands behind their necks. Though Reed laughed behind his breath. One sailor coughed and pushed Reed back, “Told ya she wouldn’t like it,” He said blaming it on Reed. Reed winced a bit as his head came in contact the mast behind him. “Yep,” He said as he started to rub his head, “It’s entirely my fault. Blame the world’s troubles on me, trust me I don’t mind.” He groaned.
Reed looked over to Jialing beckon to him. Reed sighed while standing up and walked over to Jialing and Jin, sitting next to Jin, who was now between him and Jialing. “How’s life, Jialing?” He jested as he once again rubbed his head. “Get to know the crew at all?” He joked once again scratching Jin behind his right ear.

"..Life..?" Jialing looked to Reed for a moment, before turning her eyes back to the controlled fire the men had gotten going on deck. Sitting on a barrel, Jialing stretched her legs out, her hands resting at her knees. She smelled like salt-water and her clothes which were now dry, were stiff with said salt and dirt. She had taken on a more pathetic look in the past day, a subtle change from the roughness witnessed in the woods. Her hair no longer defied gravity quiet as much, and her sarcastic comments had stopped for the moment.
With a sigh, Jialing rolled her head back, exposing her neck to the moonlight. Her Brown eyes closed. "Life's kinda been strange lately, Reed. I didn't expect to ever leave the mainland... and now.. I'm headed to the unknown." With the exception of Jin, Jialing had never really been around anyone more than a week. It looked like she was going to be stuck with Reed a lot longer than the few days they had been together.
Jin did not stir at Reed's tough, but his chest continued to rise and fall.

The ship was near the harbor. They would arrive in about ten to fifteen minutes. Reed looked over to Jialing and nudged her arm a bit,"Come on, don't be all doubtful. I mean, you couldn't have always thought you were going to live on the main land." Reed laced fingers and rested his elbows on his knees, "But life being strange, is life being normal. If that made any sense at all," Reed said under his breath, "Don't worry about it though, Jialing. Once I earn my self enough for a new boat or a ship, I'll take you and Jin back to the main land if you want."
The ship docked and they said their good byes. "Keep in touch Reed" Kai said putting a hand on Reed shoulder and held out the other hand, " And I didn't forget our deal," Kai said placing the money in his hand which Reed put in his bag. Reed smiled as the ship descended and the three were on their way.
