Ryota didn't complain when the path seemed to go on a bit longer than normal. Actually, he didn't really notice. The very essence of that night glowed with a serene bliss that only a fool would want to escape. Something Ryota had never felt before. He may have been almost eighteen years of age when he left his natal tribe, but the girls therein were much more like sisters than anything else. Misui's allure was different.
When they reached the restaurant, standing before its door, Ryota didn't quite know what to think. The flickering light by the entrance bathed them with its gentle golden hue, but he could only think to end the date in a thoroughly obvious way. Although, guessing from what she did earlier, Ryota didn't think she would mind.
Probably just the opposite. Thus, before even answering, he drew closer and slid his hands around her waist. Narrowing the gap between them, he kissed her on the cheek. The moment was quick but sweet in his mind, as he soon loosed his grip and took a step back. Putting his hands behind his back, he did his best not to appear sheepish. It was a futile task, though. Looking her in the eye, he smiled. "Tomorrow it is. Sweet dreams, Misui."

She'd imagined that she may give him another kiss before their parting, she didn't take him for the type who was forward enough to initiate such an action so when he wrapped his arms around her she was mildly surprised. Thrown a bit off balance with little to do aside from giving into his light embrace, it wasn't as if that was such a hard thing to do. She closed her eyes lightly as his lips brushed her cheek and he let her go. It took her a moment to digest the action, she felt odd, fragile.
Her hand came up to brush her cheek lightly over where he'd placed his lips, almost as if she thought they'd leave some sort of impression on her skin. The only evidence of the simple gesture was her flushed cheeks and slightly parted lips, it didn't take her long to snap out of her mild stupor though. She looked off getting a bit of the cold night air to cool her off before she was able to look back at the warrior with an even smile and longing eyes. Wishing this night didn't have to come to a close.
" Sweet dreams Ryota..." Her gaze lingered over his form before she turned away walking to the door one more look cast over her shoulder with her face lit from the doorway, a loving smile tugging at her lips, though she had nothing more to say. The words, I love you, came to mind but what was she thinking, this was a boy she'd only just gotten to know, rather, just met, she couldn't say that. She knew she couldn't wait for tomorrow, it was so hard to put it into words, none of them fit properly. For now the unspoken would have to do. There was her life and family to get back to after all.

Watching Misui enter the building, her family's restaurant, Ryota didn't know what to do next. It was over, to be done another day, and the only thing left to do was return to the barracks. It was a fine idea, but he wasn't exactly in a rush. On the way back, Ryota took his time. Gazing upon the splendor of the stars and city, the later hours of evening coercing most citizens back to their homes.
There were a few watchmen starting their overnight shift, a gondolier or two who hadn't yet turned in, and even a couple coincidentally taking a romantic walk, but Ryota only thought about the next night and what untold joy it may bring. Again he would see Misui, and all would be well. No reason whatsoever for fear or doubt. Yes, the southerner was undeniably smitten whether he realized it or not. Even though the future was beyond his grasp, he was certain there would be pure bliss.
~Ryota has left this thread, which I declare over!~
