Dan-dan rose quickly to his wife's side, looking on with a little bit of disappointment that his wife was still losing her cool so easily. He waited for her to say her piece, though, before stepping up to the bars himself.
"S'cuse me, Sir," he began, drawing the attention of the judgemental official, "But we really didn't do nothin' wrong. I'm sure if you just bring that jeweler here, we can get this whole thing settled." Dan-dan offered a slight smile, hoping his reasonable appeal could bring this whole crazy situation to a peaceful resolution.
"That won't be necessary," the man replied, stroking his whispy moustache and beard.
"You're gonna let us go?" Dan-dan asked, taking a hopeful guess as to the reason behind his captor's statement. The Chin official looked at him strangely for a moment and then laughed a high-pitched, nasally laugh.
"Ooooh, that was too much," the man laughed, wiping at his eye. "But no... You will stand trial tomorrow. I will tell the jury what happened, then you tell your story, and then I will say who's right."
Dan-dan's brow furrowed immediately. "That's not fair." he stated, his voice suddenly losing its polite tone.
"Of course it is," the snooty judge replied, flipping his moustache with his hand, "You even get to decide your own form of punishment!" He laughed once more and turned on his heel, starting for the door.

Kulap was hanging on the bars starting incrediously at the man. As he left she screamed obbessenties and remarks at the offical. 'Yew come back yew, ugly son of rotten fish head! COME BACK!!!" Face red she growled and hurled shamanic curses and hexes but not will work.
"We that bastard comes back I'm turnin' his BAD! into a carrot!" She growled sitting on the wall a few of the convicts laught at her antics. "Quiet a woman." One said another responded. "I like her spunk she could take over the world with that additute." Kulap glared and sat on the side. She notice that a rain barrel sat on the side a sly sick smile crept on her face. With enought drama she could break out of here. "Hey Dan-dan whatcha are we gonna do now? Cause I gots an idea." She had that puckish grin on her face that same idea when she is thinking about something both dangerous and brillant.

Dan-dan crosse hs arms over his chest in frustration as the official left and leaned back against the wall of their holding cell. The fisherman was growing sick of this town and eats people, no matter how much he wanted to believe that everything had been one big misunderstanding. Something like this would have never happened back home...
A sigh escaped his lips, and Dan-dan glanced down at his curse-spouting spouse who had taken a seat beside him. She seemed even more irrate than him. But a few moments later when she asked for his plan of action and put on an impish grin, Dan-dan felt obligated to throw out a caveat.
"Idunno what'choo got in mind," he said, doing well to keep any condecension from his tone, "but before we go flyin' off the handle, let's make sure we think things through." He cast a glance down at Kulap, offering a look that he hoped conveyed his seriousness. "I think these people mean business... I can only guess what their punishment for stealin' is. I don't wanna add attempted breakout to the list of charges.""

Kulap had taken her lotus position as Dan-dan spoke to her "I think these people mean business... I can only guess what their punishment for stealin' is. I don't wanna add attempted breakout to the list of charges."
Kulap sighed and meditated for a while she opened one of her eyes, "Who thinks that they are gonna be fair to us Dan-dan? Huh? We tried to explain to them whut happed then they won't lisen to us. We're at this rate gonna be excuted." She closed them again, and sighed. "Bunch 'o bigots this place is. We're diffrent dressed, we talk different and we act little diffrent, but they assume we're all bad and their not gonna give a fair trail or anythin' we need to be realistic Dan-dan...We need to git out of here, I am not waiting to see how they're gonna end my life."
She said this in state of calm, anger was tinged her voice but she was being reasonable. "Who wants to guess this lot is superstious?" She thought for a moment looking at th rain barrel.

Dan-dan did well to keep from getting irrate as Kulap reminded him of all that was wrong with their current situation. He was equally aware of how unlikely a fair resolution was to their problem, but he was still very reserved about attempting a full-out escape. At her question of whether he thought their captors were superstitious, he raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Idunno..." he said, scratching his temple, "Why? What'choo got in mind?" Dan-dan wasn't exactly following what Kulap intended to do. If she was trying to escape, he wasn't sure exactly what being superstitious had to do with it. They were still left with the problem of being behind bars, and even a successful escape from the prison would leave them in the middle of a town that wanted them arrested.
That... and they still wouldn't have a fishing net.

"Why? What'choo got in mind?"
Kulap looked at the rain barrel. She smirked and whispered into Dan-dan's ear.
"I'll fake a trance, go ridgid and seizure and everythin' You call the guards over and tell them that I'm possessed and I need help real bad or I'll git hurt. Play it up, when they get close water bend using that rain barrel, freeze 'im to the wall and I'll talk their keys and bust out. We'll git our stuff and run back home." Kulap explained with a wink.
"So whut else do we have to loose Dan-dan...we're gonna git killed anyway I say we git our butts out of here." Kulap crossed her arms and sat down. She didn't have any other good ideas except the trance one and she wanted to git our of here fast. Though she hope Dan-dan would argree with her, so they both could escape

Dan-dan listened to Kulap's proposed plan, but all the while he wasn't liking the sound of things. He could see a lot of things going wrong, and his acting abilities weren't exactly strong enough to give him confidence in carrying out the ruse. "Idunno," he repeated, once more voicing his unsureness. He glanced at the barrel of collected rainwater, taking inventory of it as a future bending supply now that Kulap had pointed it out, but he still wrestled with the concept of actually attempting her scheme.
"I mean, we got at least til tomorrow to come up with somethin'," he pointed out, referring to the official's statement of their trial. "And if yer thinkin' they mean to kill us then Idunno if they'd even bother to help ya if you were siezin' up." Dan-dan slumped down to the bottom of the wall he was leaning against and blew out a sigh.
"Let's just sit on it for a while," he suggested, glancing toward Kulap with a slightly tired expression. "Try and take things slow fer once."

Kulap listened to Dan-dan's reasoning. He did have a point if she faked a trance, they wouldn't help her. Her thought was if they were superstioious enough they would try to stop her, thinking that she was contacting a spirit for revenge. Still logic prevailed
"Try and take things slow fer once." Said Dan-dan tired Kulap stuck out her tonuge and pouted with a "Hmph." It wasn't fair...she didn't know what to do. Sighing the Spirit Talker scratched her head and sat in a corner thinking about many things. Food, home, Butchie, Dan-dan and what do green winged butterflies taste like in honey? The last one made her stomach growl.
After while as time seemed to tick away, Kulap was sweating, her legged iched and breasted did too. She was growing hot and uncomforable. And without really thinking she began to take off her sarong, top and breast wraps as well as undergarments. Naked she felt a little better. No longer sufficating under the bright green garments. She hear few wolf whisles she replied with a: "Shut it!" and scratched her left breast still thinking about food, and Butchie
"I wonder how we can git out of this mess."

Dan-dan let his head rest against his forearms as he folded them around his his knees. as the time passed by. Slumped against the base of the wall, he was letting his thoughts wander back to the Swamp. He wondered how long it would be until he saw his parents or friends again. Assuming that the people of this town ever planned to let him and Kulap go free.
At first, when Kulap started removing her overshrt he barely gave her notice. He felt like his own poncho was a little annoying against his usually bare torso, so her actions weren't too strange. However after a little while longer and the sound of her still removing clothing continued, Dan-dan glanced up. "What are you doing?" he asked, watching as she began to slide off her loin cloth. The fisherman was not unaccustomed to seeing his wife wearing less than the usul attire, but even in the swamp people kept their bottoms. Dan-dan looked around quickly, noticing all the gawking stares that were starting to focus on Kulap.
"People are starin' at ya," he said in an urgent whisper.

When Kulap head Dan-dan ask what she was doing she just scratched her stomach and shrugged. "It's hot and sweaty and if I am going to die I rather die like I came into this world. Naked." Kulap puncuated the last word as she leaned back and keep her legs closed.
"Yes Imma aware about people starin at my hooters, I don't give a rat's behind if the stare. It's nothin' new to them." Kulap added pointedly as she looked outsided, She frowned, and looked at the ground and felt a wave of sorrow hit her.
"I'm never gonna see home aren't I? I'm not gonna see Du, Tho, Huu, or Butchie..." She said as she crossed her chest and brough her legs up to her.
Meanwhile a gaurd walked by and caught sight of Kulap, nude. He stopped and stared at the woman, Kulap was deep in sorrow to pay attention to them.

Kulap's statement about never seeing home again made Dan-dan gulp uneasily. He still held onto the notion that whatever the people of this town did with convicted criminals, it surely couldn't be execution. Only the Fire Nation was that ruthless, or so he'd heard.
"Will ya just stay calm?" the fisherman asked her, picking up one of the pieces of clothing on the ground and tossing it back onto her. "At least put yer underwear back on. I don't think it's helpin' their opinion of us." However, if Dan-dan hoped to avoid any more troubles with the authorities, that hoped seemed dashed when the passing guard called out to them.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" A slight blush was coming to the man's face, either out of embarassment or because he was so flustered by the swamp dwellers' audacity.
"Sorry, officer," Dan-dan quickly apologized, "She was just puttin' her stuff back on. It's a little hot in here." He looked at Kulap with a bit of a pleading expression, trying to to persuade her to get dressed.

The shaman leaned up agaist the wall as she was grumping when she heared Dan-dan
"Will ya just stay calm?" She frowned. "Keep calm, Dan-dan we're gonna die!" Kulap said exsaperated. However Kulap noticed the gaurds and insidiously brilliant thought hit her. Gaurds were distracted...Kulap took the idea and ran with it like giant kite.
"She was just puttin' her stuff back on. It's a little hot in here." Kulap had a devious grin on her face. She spread her legs inviting showing the gaurds, of what was between her legs. And just as Kulap perdicited the men stared. She looked very erotic posing for them. They didn't seem to care at the moment.
"Naaah I'm gonna keep 'em off, ya know it's hot and sticky.." Kulap sighed exagirattingly heaving her chest so the men watched her boobs. She winked at Dan-dan if saying.

Whether his wife knew what she was doing, or she had simply lost her senses Dan-dan couldn't be sure. Even her wink gave him little reassurance, as he didn't know what could possibly be gained by making such an inappropriate display. As her husband, he was somewhat offended that she was behaving this way in front of other men.
"I mean it," the guard said after the few moments it took to regain his senses, "Put your clothes back on or you will be forcibly restrained and covered." He cleared his throat and straightened the hat he wore, still visibly uncomfortable.
"Yeah, yeah," Dan-dan said, "Just stop starin'. She'll get her stuff back on."
"What's all this?" came the voice of another guard who suddenly entered the prisoner's line of sight. "What are they doing n-Oh! What are you two doing?" This man seemed none too amused by the apparent situation.
"Nothing!" Dan-dan shouted back. "Now go away!"
"This is a prison, not a... Love Shack, or wherever you bastards go to make babies!"
"Just shut up!" the fisherman hollared, now thoroughly enraged. Apparently, his tone displeased this new guard, who immediately moved to unlock the door of the cell. After a moment or two, the door swung open and he stepped into the room with a spear in hand. The other guard stood in the doorway behind him, unsure of what to do during this confrontation.
"You are in no position to give orders..." the guard stated threateningly.

Kulap could understand Dan-dan anger and frustration but she had everything under control. Listening to their conversation it got interesting when one of them shouted.
"This is a prison, not a... Love Shack, or wherever you bastards go to make babies!" Dan-dan yell of anger was indeed frighting but as the gaurds entered the room and told them who was in charge. Kulap smirked as she stood up and with strong and clear water whip she slap the gaurd clear in face. Before shoving with the force of a wave on the wall and freezing him there.
"See where I'm gettin' at Dan-dan." The other gaurd rushed in to help but Kulap repeated the process to that one as well and froze him to the wall.
Taking the keys from him Kulap got dress and headed to the door, she didn't have much time, she had to get her stuff and make like a bat out of hell.
"Yer comin' or what?"

Dan-dan immediately scrambled to his feet, putting himself between Kulap and the guard the moment he entered the room. He could hear her getting to her feet behind him as well, and while the guard seemed intent on causing Dan-dan some discomfort, Kulap had taken the opportunity to summon a fair amount of water from the rain barrel across the room. Dan-dan ducked aside as the water surged past him and blasted the guard against the wall. Within a heartbeat the man was frozen there with his spear barely gripped in immobile fingers, and within a few more seconds Kulap managed to secure the second guard to the inside of their door.
Dan-dan watched her with no small amount of surprise. He couldn't be entirely sure if she had planned that whole thing, or if the situation had just worked itself out nicely. Either way, while she took a few moments to get her clothes back on, Dan-dan walked over to the guard who had threatened him. His torso was pinned to the wall by a layer of ice, but he was still struggling to get free. The man let out the beginning of what appeared to be a shout for help, but it quickly turned into an incoherent sound of pain as the swamp fisherman lifted his foot and kicked him square in the groin.
"Don't'choo ever threaten me or mah wife," he said, staring hard at the guard's pained expression. And just for good measure while his adrenaline was still surging, Dan-dan grabbed the guards by the ears and pulled him into a headbutt. The impact left a few stars dancing across the waterbender's vision for a moment, but he shook it off. The guard however, seemed to be out cold.
The second guard, who was frozen to the door, saw the exchange and quickly stopped wiggling to get free. He shrank back into his frozen bonds, attempting to look non-threatening as simply said, "Don't hurt me!"
By that time, Kulap had gotten her clothes back on and took that guard's keys. Dan-dan followed her out after securing a handful of water from the rain barrel, looking both ways down the hall for some sign of more guards. After seeing no one around, they made their way back from the direction they had entered. The pair eventually rounded a corner and came into a larger room where some bereaucrat was sitting at desk by the entrace door. He seemed to be wriing some sort of note on a slip of paper that was tied to... Dan-dan's oar.
Without a second thought, Dan-dan walked right over to the desk. Approaching from the man's blind spot, he barely even registered the swamp-dweller's approach until Dan-dan was right behind him. Then man jerked back with a start and fell right out of his chair. Dan-dan ignored his babbles of fear and simply grabbed his oar, tearing the evidence tag off of it.
"You can't have that!" the man protested, "It's evidence for your trial! Get back to your cell now and we'll only double your sentence!"
