"UP YERS!" Was what Kulap could say as she bended icy shackles over the offericer binding him kneeling pose. Kulap took her jewlerly and staff and squeezed it lightly. It felt right in her hands. Glaring at the man she turned to leave.
"You fithly savages come back here! You're criminals you- EEEK!" Kulap bended a icy blade that just miss head and hit the wall.
"Callin' us criminals? Yew know why you arrested us in the first place? Cause yer a bunch of self-rightous bigots. An if thar is one thing I hate more than cowards, it's bigots. Dan-dan reclaimed his oard from the clek's desk and looked it over with a swift glance. Aside from the tag, which he roughly yanked off, it seemed like it was no worse for wear. Meanwhile, Kulap seemed to be having her fun torturing the other man, and Dan-dan quickly turned his attention to the door along the front of the room. He could see daylight under the edge of the door, and as he recalled this was the way they had come in.
However, as Kulap made her way over to the mouth of another corridor leading off the main room, Dan-dan realized that more fighting would only make more trouble. The fisherman darted over to his wife's side, transferring the floating mass of water in his left hand to the paddle of his oar. He froze the water to the wood in order to carry it and then shouldered the oar. Dan-dan grabbed Kulap by the wrist and started to pull her away from the confrontational situation.
"Come on," he urged her, "That door's our way out. We can make a run fer it." Dan-dan tugged her in his direction and then let go, bolting ahead toward the door and cracking it open. With a momentary glance around the immediate area, he saw a few civilians but no one else that looked particularly official. With any luck, they might be able to simply walk right out of the town.
"Let's go," he said to Kulap, waving for her to follow as he stepped out into the sinlight and tried to look an unguilty as possible.

Kulap blinked in the bright sun her eyes stinging as she strolled out with Dan-dan in front. Now ecaped, Kulap tried to be a non-chalant and cool headed as possible.
However there was the issue of getting another net which was going to be a difficult task. The only thing Kulap had that was of montary value was her talisman and her pure gold bangles. Also it won't be long until the athorities catches up with them. So they where in a time crunch. Kulap walked down the street to the thatchers house frowning she looked at her jewery that she nicked back from the Evidance box and then at her husband.
"I'm gonna git you that net Dan-dan." Walking to the shop she noticed both that the man was gone for the day and a thinly fhatched next. She threw down all of her jewerly and vaulbles on the table and took the net.
"This ain't stealin' I paid fer it..now lets git goin"

Dan-dan walked quickly beside his wife and the pair made sure to duck down a road and out of view of the jailhouse as soon as possible. They made their way toward the gate they'd entered through, making a detour by the net shop when Kulap reminded him of their original purchase. The fisherman was slightly nervous about the risky delay, but still he didn't want their entire ordeal to count for nothing.
As the pair entered the shop and found the owner away for the moment, Dan-dan wasted no time in selecting a net that fit the requirements for the Swamp. He was about to mention leaving some kind of I.O.U. for the thatcher, but Kulap beat him to it by depositing all of her jewelry on the counter and starting out the door. Dan-dan was surprised at the unusually selfless sacrifice on her part, and held back just a moment. With a swift glance at the belongings she'd left behind, he noticed that she'd even left one of her most prized talisman.
Without thought, Dan-dan scooped up the necklace, leaving what he felt was a fair enough amount of money for the thatcher, and followed Kulap out the door.
The pair made their way quickly out of the town, only attracting some serious attention from the men guarding the entrance. However, the pair of Swamp-dwellers simply smacked them aside with a swift display of waterbending and then ran as fast as their legs could carry them until they had to stop for breath.
Looking back down the path they'd followed at the town of Chin, there was no obvious sign of pursuit and it seemed as though they'd gotten off scott free. Dan-dan was doubled-over, one hand one his oar which was planted in the ground for support, while the other kept the net tucked against his side. "Well..." he said between heaving breaths, "I think we lost 'em."
He offered a slight smile toward Kulap, and then seemed to remember something. "Oh, I almost forgot," he said, shifting his oar into his other hand so he was free to reach inside the neck of his poncho. He fished around for a moment and then pulled out the talismannecklace that she had left as payment. Dan-dan smiled as he extended the piece of jewelry for Kulap to take back. "Those guys were kinda jerks..." he offered as explanation.
