With Jin awkwardly saddled on Denali, Kavik adjusted himself on his mount and gave the command. “Denali walk!” Kicking his sides, Denali started to walk, Kavik urged his beast to make it a working walk with a little more stride. Kavik gave a warning to Jin to hold on tighter. “You should hold on to my waist, normally I trot but sense you’re not use to this. I’m gonna to walk.”
With warm sunshine cloaking Kavik’s shoulders. The waterbender started to make conversation. “So, as you can tell, I’m from the North, I’m also a waterbender too.” Denali snorted and continue the working pace. “I have twin sister, and a bunch of uncles and cousins, I am the son of a fisherman, and I like to carve ice statues and ice skate…so? Where are you from Jin?” Kavik volleyed the conversation back to Jin. He should at least get to know about him.

Jin lurched as they began walking, nearly bumping into Kavik. He wobbled back and forth awkwardly, his height working against him. When Kavik gave the invitation for a more stable anchor the Earth Kingdom boy took it, though he was still tentative. Slowly he lifted one hand from the back of Denali's saddle and wrapped one arm loosely about Kavik's waist. He let the other stay where it was, in attempts to steady himself and gain some ground.
It was somewhat odd how quickly the Water Tribe boy opened up. Most people were guarded and suspicious, especially with the war going on. It was refreshing to have someone so eager and willing to share. When he passed the conversation to Jin, the young man had no reserves. Kavik was willing to spew everything, and so was Jin. "You're a waterbender? That's fantastic! I've never met a waterbender, or anyone from the Water Tribes for that matter." Even though Kei Lan was a rest spot for most travelers the young man couldn't remember ever seeing anyone from the Tribes. "I have a sister as well, younger though. Sweetest little girl you'll ever meet." A fond smile spread across his face, as an almost dreamy look settled in his eyes. It was weird being this far away from his family, and even weirder to be speaking about them as if they were far away. "I'm from Kei Lan." Jin continued the friendly banter, finally answering the question Kavik asked. "A pretty small rest stop town, but it's home... My home."
Denali hit a bump making Jin lurch once more. "Umph." The young man bumped into Kavik, pressing against him momentarily before quickly moving back. "Sorry." The apology was sincere as he gave a gentle smile to Kavik's back. "So, Kavik," Jin continued, "What are you doing so far from home?"

Denali moved down a hill as Kavik got up off the staddle. a bit to let him move. Slidding back on he listented to Jin describe his family. He was speaking fondly of his sister, Kavik smiled at that and went on about his family in Kei Lan. He seemed suprised too that Kavik was a waterbender. However talking about his home made him feel bittersweet about running away. It was something so reckless and impulsive. He felt guilty about doing it.
And when the question was brought up, Kavik added dismally. "It was forced marriage and I didn't want to enslaved to a woman that only wanted money and my offspring. I am not some bull to be bred." Kavik sighed at the harshness of his words. It was a little to cold even for him still he smiled and said. "Though I have to admit it was sheer luck and fate I ment someone like you Jin." Kavik looked to the road he could see the gates

Jin winced slightly at Kavik's harsh words toward his almost-betrothed and took it as a hint that it was a discussion best laid to rest. In all honesty the Earth Kingdom boy couldn't believe someone could harbor such a dislike toward any one person. Jin himself could never bring himself to hate. He didn't even hate the Fire Nation thugs who destroyed his village during the Festival. "Just doing as they were told, the didn't know better..." Jin told himself, putting the blame on orders and ignorance rather than people. "I see." was all he had to say, and that was the end of that.
The young man tilted his head slightly at Kavik's last sentence. "Though I have to admit it was sheer luck and fate I met someone like you Jin." In all honesty Jin wasn't exactly sure how to take the statement. It felt completely out of the blue like when Kavik first began the discussion. Maybe it was a hint to ease off the previous subject, the young man decided. Something to distance themselves from why Kavik had left. A wide grin spread across Jin's face, obviously the words were meant to be taken kindly- as an act of friendship (or so Jin hoped). "Thanks." The Earth Kingdom boy spoke earnestly, spotting the town's entrance. "I'm glad I met you too, the walk would have been a lot longer without company." he paused a moment. "Or a ride." Jin hinted at Denali. In fact, the company was so good, he had almost forgotten he how hungry he was. That was... until Jin's stomach rumbled audibly enough for both to hear.

That thing had been following him for miles. That kiwi, the round wingless bird with a pointy beak and fuzzy feathers seemed enthralled with Sunil, though he was making pitiful efforts to avoid it. He knew a traveling companion would be nice, but he felt rather guilty having the small creature leave its native habitat. Ever since he took that wrong turn in the forest, falling down a sharp incline where his tea bags scattered all around on impact, the bird had made itself known. Perhaps the smell was the most inviting, or the friendly pat on the head that Sunil gave. Needless to say, the kiwi took an immediate liking to Sunil at that point.
Now on a dusty path far away from the forest where the kiwi was found, Sunil looked down at the creature, only to have his dark eyes met with the longing gaze of tiny black beads. He felt his heart melt at the sight, as the tiny creature seemed to have fallen in love with him or something. With a wide and charming smile, he knelt down and ushered the creature into his arms. Surely such a tiny thing, even with its muscular thighs, would tire after such a long walk. The thing was about the size of a turducken, but far less cranky.
Sunil knew he wasn't an expert on kiwis, since this was the first one he had seen in person. Sunil had only heard about them by word of mouth or read in scrolls, but he never expected to see one in person - much less have one follow him on the road. As the lanky, dark-skinned man walked down the pathway, a grateful kiwi in his arms, a strange beast with two people on its back came into sight. It was almost like an ostrich horse, though it had four legs and was covered in gray fur. The earthbender figured he would find out soon enough, and kept on walking down the same path.

Plodding on with a cheerful trot, Denali seemed to enjoy the warm and playful sunlight. Kavik did as well feeling the day continue to pass by in happy splendor. As the good mood build, and encouraged Kavik he noticed the gate in front of his path. He would be arriving Tachi Dai soon. Well with that at the case, he also had to find food and a place to sleep for the night. And the waterboy didn’t have a lot of money only, two gold pieces and five silver maybe he could get an apple or something. Finding a place to sleep was going to be a chore.
Finally entering the town Kavik found a watering trough and tied Denali up to it. Dismounting Kavik looked up at Jin. “Lets find some food and get a room for the night.” Kavik looked at the market down the road and the inn that was across from him.

At the mention of food, the young man's stomach gave another roar. Jin slid off Denali ungracefully, a mess and tangle of tanned arms and legs, his pipa and staff making it even more awkward to achieve balance. The only time the boy ever seemed to move with the slightest hint of grace was when he was playing his pipa, running, or with the boa staff in his hand. Attention drew to Jin with the clatter on his back and all the Earth Kingdom boy could do was smile at the passersby. He took his gun staff form his back, twirled it skillfully once before placing the bottom firmly on the ground. It seemed less awkward to carry it in his hand than it had on his back.
"Something to eat? Sounds great! I'm starving." Jin grinned at the idea. He wasn't over-exaggerating either, considering his stomach gave another growl in agreement to his comment. His vibrant green eyes scanned the area, searching for a tavern, and inn, anything that provided substance for his protesting belly. "Hm... Do you see anywhere decent? Hell, at this point I'll eat almost anything." Which was true. Jin had an extremely fast metabolism, which is what made him so lean when combined with the running, and a cast iron stomach to boot. The young man had no fear when it came to food. If he was hungry, extremely so, and it looked remotely edible, he'd eat it.

Kavik looked at his pockets as he counted how much gold he had. He didn't have a lot but he hoped it would be enough to feed him and Jin. Sighing he motioned Jin to follow him.
Walking thought the busy stalls of the market Kavik looked at the various weres and food. Picking a few apples he also bough some cheese and bread to eat. Finding it enough he walked around noticing some other things as well. Including rare coffee beans and cacao from the far south. Kavik even notice a hookah on sale. A repelica from the Air temples. He looks at the price tag and back away. "Good gods!!" Kavik said astounded at the price. Shaking his head he showed Jin the food. "I got something to eat, should we look for a place to stay now?" Kavik looked for something that looked like an inn.
"How bout that?"
