After raiding a caravan of preformers in Zhy, Kavik had enough food to wether a few more days. He camped at a grassy field for a few days, monitoring Denali's intake of grass. If he eats too much he could bloat which is fatal for buffaloyaks. Kavik ate a lot as well. He devored the jerky and the fruit. Denali loved the carrots. After while they both sat under the clear blue sky. Denali chewing his cud and Kavik thinking about home. He wondered how his family was doing. If Kokomi had married yet, or about his father's health. Sighing he lazy scratched Denali's cheeks, feeling homesick.
Kavik had already groomed Denali lately. Removing ticks from him and mixing fleabane into his fur. Kavik decided a bath was needed for himself as well. There was a small brook that the water bender decided to bath himself in. Stripping off his clothes and grabbing some fleabane and soap. Kavik waterbended a clear stream. He washed off the filth and sweat. Soaping and lathering his torso, which has become bony. Found a razor in one of his saddle bags. The one the thought he lost. Shaved and now clean Kavik felt a little better. He dressed and braided his hair again staddled Denali

Above a nearby trail a small rat sized pigeon-buzzard soared around in circles searching for it’s latest snack. With it’s incredible sight it was able to see a possibility two hundred feet below it and almost a quarter mile away. Going into a stoop the bird speed towards the shape only stopping when it was within ten feet. It eyed the shape for several moments. It was human, though the buzzards mind couldn’t comprehend that fact. It was a man of average height in the clothes of the earth kingdom, it had a tattered straw coolie on it’s head, the bird obviously only thought of clothes as inedible debris.
It hadn’t moved since the bird had first spotted it. The bird hopped forward and perched on a long piece of metal lying across it. It spent a few moments looking at the body before deciding to take it’s first peck and the human under arm.
“Ow!” yelled the human who wasn’t quite dead.

Denali walked down the forest path quite cheerfully, he was making "uff"-ing noises in contentment as Kavik whisled at tune. Going to Tachi Dai would be good idea, he could hitch a boat and head home or restock and head east to Ba Sing Se. Either way he needed an endding to this journey.
Feeling in good mood, Kavik tighten the reigns of Denali and asked him to trot. Denali obliged to the human moved in a light gait. Kavik posted on the Denali moving up and down on him. Keeping in rhythm with his gait, Kavik looked up ahead ordered Denali to canter. Denali now had a rocking rhythm, and Kavik got up on two-point sitting on his thighs and not his rear. Laughing the waterbender enjoyed this travel feeling excited and happy. He slowed down when he saw some thing in the brush. It was….a man. “Denali, ho!” Kavik dismounted and walked over, he wasn’t dead he could tell he was still breathing. Kavik kicked his heel lightly. “Hey mister? You ok?”

Sun grunted something from under his hat. There was the sound of sniffing, “I smell food..” he muttered more to himself than the man. A second sniff brought him the sent of soap and an animal he couldn’t identify. Without standing he lifted the rim of his straw hat just enough to see, he‘d had to replace his old one as it was likely being worn by a hog monkey 50 miles away.
Squinting against the sun he could just make out the water tribe colors worn by the man. “What’s water guy doin’ this deep inland eh?” He asked sitting up and straitening his hat, underneath it was a mop of recently shortened hair and Suns newest accessory, a gold band around his head that should have read ‘handsome monkey king,’ but do to Suns poor calligraphy it looked more like ‘itchy penguin of doom’.
Though he didn’t bother to stand yet he kept his hand on the iron staff that had rolled into his lap.

Kavik nearly jumped.
"Oh Umm Hi, no he's sleeping." Replied Kavik scratching his head. Anwser the sleepy man's question he replied back.
"Oh Ummm I'm travling a bit...it's a long story anyway I think introductions are in order. I'm Kavik from the North Pole and this big guy is my buffaloyak Denali." Denali smelled what was dried plants, much like the food he ate at him he sniffed the strange man curiously. "Murrr?" Denali mumbles as he began to sniff the travler's hair and nuzzled it." Kavik made a clicking noise. "Denali no!" He tugged on the buffaloyak's reigns. Denail snorted and walked to the brush above the sleeping man and started grazing in the trees. Kavik was embarssed but he didn't voice it at once.
"Umm anyway, where you two heading I was wonder if you might want company." Kavik asked as he tried to get Denali away from some sumac.
"No Denali!"

The furball tugged on his hair.
“Gah!” the man yelped, “I am not a damned snack!” he said to the beast after it nipped him. Blinking the sun out of his eyes he sat up and looked at the animal. Having taken care of (and been bitten by) nearly every type of animal in the earth kingdom he was easily excited when he encountered any new form of fuzziness.
Sun leaned forward and than rolled backwards. When his weight was on his neck and shoulders he pressed off the ground with his fists (which were still holding his staff). After standing on his hands for a second, possibly to show off, he brought his feet to the ground and stood up and planted his cudgel in the dirt.
It looked as if he was going to address the man for a moment but instead he turned to the animal and began examining it, poking it and messing with it’s fur with great curiosity. It seemed as if the man had already forgotten there was somebody there.

It had been months since Jin had helped rebuild Kei Lan after the Paper Lantern Festival raid and left to revisit the land of his ancestors- Tachi Dai. This was the place where his family was born, where it grew, and where it had nearly died at the beginning of the great war. There may not have been a future for Jin's family here back then, but perhaps now Jin could make something of it. It wasn't that he didn't like his life in Kei Lan, or his family. In fact, it broke his heart to see the look on his sister's face when he left. "Promise you'll come back?" she had said, her big brown eyes filled with tears. Jin didn't hesitate, he didn't wait for logic or reason to come across his mind. He had nodded confidently, a soft smile on his lips, "I promise." And he intended to keep that promise, even if it meant making the long trudge back home with nothing other than his new pipa- which his mother had bought him with the reward money from the general (or something of the sort) Jin had help rescue the night of the failed Festival after she had destroyed his old one in self defense- and his staff.
After long weeks spend of traveling through the wilderness his journey was finally coming to an end, or perhaps a new beginning. The grin on the young man's long face was plastered there, knowing he was on the trail that lead straight into the small town. There was a playful swagger in his walk as, resting his wrist on his gun staff like a scarecrow in a field. How fitting considering Tachi Dai was a farming community. The small bag on Jin's hip clattered slightly considering they were almost gone. His stomach rumbled loudly and Jin couldn't help but chuckle. He was too happy to let something like a little hunger get in his way of enjoying the completion of his journey. "Shush you," the young man chuckled down to his stomach, "I'll get you something to eat when we get there."
The bright green of Jin's eyes dazzled as they set on small figures down the dirt trail. People! Hopefully friendly people who wouldn't mind giving a hand out to a hungry musician. The young man began taking longer strides, speeding up his pace slightly. He hadn't realized just how hungry he was until the thought of food began swimming in his head.

Denali was being tugged away when the man begain poking and proding Denali. The buffalo yak didn't see to mind the man who had been inspecting his fuzzy coat. In fact he was chewing cud pleasently and seem to like the attention. Kavik cleared his throat twice, but the man seemed to forgot about the water tribe man by his mount.
Irrated midly at the annoance of man he tried to get his attention again. "Uh sir ummm you better be careful. Denali likes to kick.." Frowing he shook his head and turned to see somone walking towards them. Kavik cocked his head he seemed pleasent and waved him over. "Hey man over here." Kavik said cheerfully. He figured this wouldn't be a theif, they wouldn't be obvious.
Denali was beginning to get annoyed now. He snorted. That was warning number one. He tossed his head, warning two. Finally he stamped his foot. Kavik noticed this and tried to warn the man who was behind Denali.
"Umm you should back away, Denali isn't in good mood he'll kick you."

Jin wasn't exactly sure if the person down the trail was talking to him at first. He looked to his left, then to his right, making sure that he was the only one on trail trail. Less he be thought a fool for answering to someone else's call. 'The again'. Jin thought with a wry smile, 'I'm already considered a fool by most.' The young man sped up his pace slightly, taking great strides with his long runner's legs. Dust from the first road rolled up along his feet with each loud thud of a step. His pants had been long stained a soft brown from his constant walking. The grin on his face never move, hopefully assuring both the men on the trail that he was friend not foe.
"Hey," Jin spoke cheerfully upon reaching them, the two men and an irritated looking creature. He shifted his arms, moving his gun staff from his shoulders to his right hand, grasping it like a walking stick. "I'm Jin." The young man introduced himself immediately, his name a freely given thing considering he had no enemies and nothing to fear. Who would come after an eighteen-year-old Earth Nation prankster with a stick? "And your friend looks a bit irritated." Jin started the obvious, nodding toward the frustrated looking creature.

"Umm you should back away, Denali isn't in good mood he'll kick you."
Sun’s head moved three inches to the side just in time to avoid the hoof flying at his skull. Sun didn’t seem to notice it. Another kick flew at him and again it missed Sun by a hair. He had seen a drawing of buffalo yaks before but this was the first time he’d seem one in real life.
"And your friend looks a bit irritated."
Sun looked up, “who me?” the fur ball didn’t miss the chance. The moment the words left his mouth Sun was on the receiving end of Denali’s third kick. The impact to his chest sent him back several feet before he landed butt first and rolled backwards for several feet. He came to a stop on his shoulders with his legs above him, after a short pause his lower body flopped back down with small puff of dust.
“Ugh..” he muttered looking up at Kavik, “Goodtimes…” he said without explanation.

While talking to Jin, Kavik had to watch Denali out of the corner of his eye. After one miss Kavik was going to pull Denali away. Kavik missed the second one and when Denali finally planted a large, fuzzy two toed kick right on the Man's chest. Kavik winced.
"You ok, I warned you about Denali. He doesn't like people poking him in the butt...I don't anyone one does.' Denali feeling victorious went to graze again as Kavik helped the man up and went to his stachel to get some balm and gauze.
"I'm heading to Tachi Dai for a while, What about you guys....do you want to tag a long for a little bit. I promise Denali will behave.
Denali didn't saying thing to object as Kavik handed the balm to the man. "I think I told you my name, I'm Kavik. Who are you guys?" The water bender asked curiously

Jin winced with his entire body, cringing slightly as he imagined the pain that must have come with the hind hoof of the beast connecting with one's body. A memory resurfaced of a contracting incident when Jin was assisting in the construction of a new shed for a neighbor's house. He had accidentally been bunted with a decent sized beam right in his stomach. The young man remembered the pain, it had nearly knocked the wind out of him, and he imagined the other man who had been hit felt somewhat like he had. He took a step toward the fallen man; ready to rush over and help the man, or at least offer it. He stopped mid-step, the other man (the one Jin had been speaking to) had walked over with gauze and other materials in hand. And considering he was speaking- incoherently, but speaking nonetheless- it seemed the victim of the kick would recover.
"As am I." Jin flashed a friendly grin as the honey colored man mentioned Tachi Dai. He shifted his satchel slightly where he stood. It felt awkward to walk over and offer help now when things seemed clearly under control. "I wouldn't mind tagging along." he continued, running his hand through his hair. For a moment both his brilliant green eyes were visible, the sun reflecting the gold freckles scattered within making them dance. His dried dirt colored hair bounced back into place, hiding his eyes from the sun once more. "In fact, I'd enjoy the company." Jin offered one dominate laugh. "It's been so long since I've actually had decent human contact."
Pushing through the awkward feeling Jin walked over to both men. Offering his hand down to the fallen man to help him up. Jin turned his smile up at Kavik as he introduced himself. "Like I said before, I'm Jin."

Sun brushed the dirt off and declined medical aid, there was no real damage, though he was going to be bruised later. Looking down he saw the animal had left a rather large hoof print. For reasons he couldn’t fathom he was struck with the urge to put on a yellow full body suit.
“You can call me Sun,” he said locating his staff on the ground nearby, “of the Boyue family in Gaoling,” he didn’t have to worry about giving his name out cause nobody without pets would know about them. Stepping away for a moment he stepped on his staff. Jerking his foot back he made it roll onto his foot. With a kick he sent it into the air for him to catch in a dramatic fashion. He had a slightly confused look on his face.
“Tachi dai? Is that where I was heading?” he looked up at the sky for a moment, he had been traveling for a while now since his odd encounter with the Igni and the hot chick. When he left he was planning to go to Xing Ba to meet the crew but he’d managed to get sidetracked within hours of setting out.
"No thanks, I have buisness south," with that he layed his staff on his shoulders and began walking away with his forearms hanging over each side. It wasn't until several hour later that he realized he was walking east.
Sun has wandered out of the thread.

Watching Sun walk away, Kavik thought that the man was quite odd. “Sun from Gaoling, what a strange man.” Kavik commented as he began taking control of Denali and preparing to mount him again. Heard Jin and shook his hand, though Kavik smiled when he stated that he was going to Tachi Dai and even more when he agreed to join Kavik
"In fact, I'd enjoy the company, It's been so long since I've actually had decent human contact."
Kavik laughed, and nodded. “All I have is Denali and he’s the strong slient type. He’s only vocal when his hungry, right Den?” Denali response was chew cud and looking at his master. Kavik saddled on and offered his hand. “I’ll give you a ride, we can travel together on Denali you look light so I am sure he can carry you, plus we better head into town before sundown.” Kavik suggested the road wasn’t long, and to make easier he could have a conversation again.

Jin tilted his head slightly in the direction Sun had walked off, the grin slipping from his lips only to be replaced with a thoughtful look. He had exited the young man's life as quickly as he came, and in such an odd fashion. Through the short encounter Jin was sure to have at least one story, or recollection, of the strange man Sun of the Boyue family. He nodded in agreement over at Kavik's comment, for surely he spoke nothing other then the truth. He returned the handshake with Kavik jubilantly, his grin spread wide, and followed him over to the beast he called Denali.
Though Kavik offered Jin a ride the young man was tentative. He had never ridden atop of anything, excluding his father's shoulders when he was three-years-old or so. Jin's bright eyes studied the calm beast, hoping he'd be just as slow on the move as he was in chewing his cud. With an uneasy smile he took Kavik's hand as leverage to hoist himself upon Denali. He shifted his staff slightly, resting it on between his back and his pipa.
Once he was atop the shaggy creature posed an entirely new problem as to where to put his long arms. Wrapping them about Kavik's waist after just meeting would be entirely awkward, but would it be safe just to lean back and grip the saddle? Going for the ladder of the two Jin leaned back slightly and gripped the sadly, hoping the finger and arm strength he had built over the years would come to good use.
