"It's a long, long way to Ba-Sing-Se, but the girls in the city they look so pretty! And they kiss so sweet that you've really got to meet the girls from Ba-Sing-Se!"
These words were accompanied by rhythmic drumming as well as the strumming of a pipa. Chong and his nomad group were walking through a wooded area. He really had no idea where they were, only that they were somewhere, and where they were, meant that they were there. He paused in his song a moment, confusing himself with his own thoughts was something he did, and it usually took a few moments for his brain to re-start and make sense of what he just thought.
"You alright dear?" Lily asked as she placed a hand on his shoulder. He beamed brightly at her, her concern touching his very heart. "Right as the rising sun." He responded as he began to strum his pipa again, picking up the song where he left off. Of course, he had never been to Ba Sing Se, but he had heard it was a nice place from a traveling salesman.
Chong paused once more, his stomach growling loudly. "I say we eat!" The nomad leader proclaimed, as the others in his caravan nodded. A wide smile crossed his face as the group sat down in the shade of a tree and pulled out the various assortment of food stuffs that they had purchased in a nearby town after a performance. Chong contently ate an apple, by far his favorite fruit...or was it a vegetable? He really had trouble telling. But it was food nonetheless, and eatable at that.
They really had nothing planned to do today, but should anyone come walking down the road, the group would probably eagerly entertain them, after all, that was what they did. Entertainment and bringing joy were the things he liked doing, and he was quite skilled at doing them.

The young Water Tribe girl was strolling aimlessly through the woods, having passed by a stream to remove the spliners from her clothing and her hands. She was barely able to jump over the swarm of insects, killing her ankles in the process, but she was able to get away from the pests. She limped a little from having to have jumped from the tree, but then again it wasn't high enough for her to have popped a bone out of her thigh or anything like that. Now, her purpose almost completely forgotten, she walks as a wanderer away from the home. It was completely unbelieveable, how she was able to travel south from the North Pole. Unfortunately, she feared of the dangers of trying to go back north.
As she walked down her own endless path, she began to hear a tune of music not very far from where she was. There was a pause, and then the music started again. Lin stopped, turning her head in that direction and curious to know where it came from. But when the music stopped again, she shrugged it off and continued on her way.
She drowned in her own thoughts as she wandered onto the road. Her gaze focused on the tree branches and hung above her head. She wondered what was happening back at the North Pole. It's felt like ages since she's been back there. She's lost track of the days and the seasons don't seem to be telling her what day it was. She wondered what her siblings' reaction was when she left.
She continued down the road, lost in her deep thoughts. She didn't see the nomads far ahead under the shade of a tree.

Chong sat up for a moment, as he turned his attention to a figure he spotted coming down the road. "Look! It's another nomad!" He said brightly as he grinned. He pulled out his pipa and began to play another song, the Tale of Two Lovers. After all, they were still in the Earth Kingdom...and the Secret Tunnel shouldn't have been far off.
"Two lovers...forbidden from one another, a war devides their people...and a mountain devides them apart."
Lily pulled out her flute and began to play along, knowing this song quite well, it was one of the first she had learned. Moku smiled and tapped on his drum, while the other nomads began to rise and dance. When the music plays, all you can really do is dance.
"Built a path to be together! Their tunnels of love went on forever! Only love will guide you down the path that is right. Fail to love and you will be lost...and die!"
Chong began to strum energetically now.
"SECRET TUNNEL! SECRET TUNNEL! THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN! SECRET SECRET SECRET SECRET TUNNEL! YEAH!"
Chong finished the song then grinned. "Hey hey! I remembered those lines I forgot!" He said energetically as he rose to his feet to greet the traveller. "Hey hey! You must be a nomad!" He said when she came up on the group.

Lin resisted her instinct to make a face in reaction to their sudden burst of music. When the man asked her the question, she stopped in front of them.
A nomad? The naive girl thought for a while. She could probably think of herself as one, considering she had nowhere to go. She could try to head north, but her concious was getting the best of her and she only began to worry about her survival. So, she was now just a wanderer; a nomad.
She hesitated before she answered his question. "Well... I guess I'm a nomad. I wish I could return--"
Grumble.
Her face flushed as she hugged her arms lightly over her stomach. After being in such deep thought, she didn't realize that she was hungry. Now that she was aware of it, she couldn't remember the last time she ate something. She cleared her throat a little, coming back into her sentence.
"..Home, though. I can't, however, because I don't know how to get back." she shrugged. "I'll find my way back eventually. But for now, wandering will do."

Around the bend in the road, a creek intersected with the path, creating a small footbridge. Jet was lying on the bridge, feet dangling into the transparent water. With his trademark stalk of grass in his mouth, he lazed around, letting the sun heat his skin. His boots lay a few feet away, still on the footbridge. Slowly rising into a sitting position, Jet caught the faint sounds of music in the wind. The strange music peaked his curiosity, guiding him to slip into his boots. Although his feet were damp, that didn't lighten his stride as he drew closer to the joyous music. "It'll be good to get my mind off my future," he thought to himself. "Perhaps they'll even let me dance, god forbid I haven't done that in a long time." As he drew near the gypsies, Jet ducked into the trees. He felt his chin, stubbles of hair scattered across it and ran his hand through his coarse mane of hair. "I look like a vagabond," he thought. Unsure about how his appearance would affect the crowd, he waited behind the tree, with only his head peeking out.

As he sat in the shade of the trees, the heat lulled him to sleep, musty and thick in the air. The sound of music was like a lullaby floating in the breeze, drifting through the forest, causing Jet to fall into a languor. His eyes drooped slowly and he rested his head on the bark. Soon, he was fast asleep, the world passing by him unnoticed. A few hours later, the sun's last rays peeked from over the mountain. Jet opened his eyes, suddenly shivering. Looking around and seeing nobody, he shrugged nonchalantly and picked up his swords. "That was a good nap," he thought to himself before he continued down the path. (Jet has left the thread)

"I'd like to stay," Lin began. "But I must move on. I want to somehow find a way back home."
Above her, the clouds moved like puffs of white smoke being blown by an ever so gentle breeze. The sky was wrapped in the bright blanket of the sun. The long grass leaned on one side while sounds of ruffling came from the leaves of the trees.
The young water tribe girl turned and began walking down the road before even waiting for the music makers' responses. She didn't have time to stop and chat for too long; she just wanted to go back. Her eyes wandered above her as she walked, gazing into space and falling into her deep thoughts.
