The wind blew a cold breeze into the temples of this once great temple. The cold earth ground stood dormant and empty as the temple continued to rot from exposure of the elements of rain, wind, and time itself. In the middle of the temple itself was the statue of Avatar Ginsei. His mighty stone figure stood there on the altar as it started to crumble with age.
A strange man stepped onto the aging stone work of the temple as he entered the sacred walls. With the staff of oak in hand, the robed figure looked around. His eyes curiosly searched for a possible clue on what he was looking for.
"The old temple of Avatar Ginsei," the man spoke, "The latest earthbender of Avatars. He deserved a worse fate than what he got. This area is so rich with possible clues and history, almost like a museum."
He chuckled as he walked around while scanning the walls, "I should start an exibit of this place, probably make some decent money."
He sat at the altar as he reached inside of his bookbag that he carried with him at all times.
"Don't mind me Ginsei, just reading for a bit," he spoke to the statue as if it were alive. He opened up what appeared to be a journal of his travels and events. He read the passages of what he has done.
'Day 167, Year of the Horse,
Wondering the wilderness of this vast Earth Kingdom is most tedious indeed. Hiring those travel guides used up a large sum of my money, so I must find some sort of work soon. Where is a town when I need it. I must be cautious going to these bigger cities. These Earth Kingdom citizens get real nervous now with the Fire Nation invading. I really should thank Lord Ozai for making my "work" blend in this area. The sacrifices seem to blend in a little more, for people could easily blame brigands or pirates for these murders. Nobody here knows of the "Butcher of the Dark" yet, but they will soon enough. Soon the Avatar will die, I just need to get to him in time before the Fire Nation could. The smell of blood in this country is magnificant.'
After reading his latest passage, he turned his head to look up at the statue with an sheepish smile on his face.
"Don't you agree Ginsei?" he asked the statue. His smile turned into a frown as he didn't get a 'response'.
"No? Your no fun Ginsei," he said, "Don't worry though. Soon you will be with the current Avatar, for he would be purged from this world and balance will be restored. Because of you, many people died. You should be ashamed."
With his lecture, the man felt a sleeping spell onto his mind. He yawned for a while as he laided on the cold stone floor ready to sleep.
"Well, if you're going to be useful, at least watch over me as I sleep, you un-balancing bastard," the man jested as he drifts off to sleep.
