The sky was clear as was the small town of Kei Lan. People were bustling about as usual, but it was meek and rather small. The town itself is unusually empty and quiet, something that Ziyuan has never experienced when he was at the port. Boy, will he get his crew for making him walk to this city in order to buy some provisions. He curses the cabbage vendor for selling the last bit of cabbage to a bunch of pretentious rich people rather than just giving him the cabbage.
Ziyuan strolled along the town, looking at the rather pathetic collection of street vendors sitting on chairs under an awning in order to protect themselves from the sun. The selection of cabbages and statues weren't that much of interest to Ziyuan. The cabbages didn't seem to have that quality that it did in the ports nor were the statues as glamorous. The fruits, however, did look rather ripe and delicious.
Out of interest, hunger, and curiosity, Ziyuan eyed the deliciously red apples just sitting at a small stand. The stand seemed like it was falling apart, only having four weak little wooden legs to hold it up. The vendor was lounging in a chair, eyeing Ziyuan as a potential customer. He waved and Ziyuan immediately looked the other direction. He tried to feign as if he didn't really want a fruit, but, in actuality, he was starving. He reached into his pocket and found nothing. Not even a copper piece. It's just great. Not only did his crew send him to a rather desolate town, but they didn't even bother giving him some loose change.
The man apparently gave up waving and apparently just gave up all together. A slight snore came from him. Ziyuan walked towards the fruit stand and examined the fruits for a while, making sure the man is well asleep. The man did not stir or even made any noise other than snores. Ziyuan swiped a couple of apples and began to run.
"Stop right there!" Ziyuan heard a shout from behind him and knew that the man was really wide awake.
"Someone stop him!" The man yelled. Ziyuan just kept running. What else was he suppose to do?
