Something rustled the bush in the forest near Kei Lan...Just the wind. Akai leaned against a tree near the village, her eyes darting everywhere. Everyone looked so cold, so helpless in the city. And her parents were well off. Shouldn’t they share some of their money. She crossed her arms, waiting, watching everyone. She seen a little boy run around with his friends, like they were playing tag or something. She smiled, and crossed her arms over her chest. ‘This is the good life,’ she thought. ‘But some people aren’t as happy as them.’
Akai looked over at her house, her mother’s head seeable through the window. She was busy cleaning, and she had told Akai earlier to go outside and do something. She willingly did so, and now here she was, doing nothing. She looked around the forest again, and set off into town. She picked up her backpack before doing so.
Akai walked through town, different shops and houses seen. She could see in the dark alleys poor boys and girls looking for cash or for someone's money. She walked over to a young boy and looked for some money in her pocket. She grabbed four copper pieces and dropped it in the young boy's hand. The boy looked up at her with a thankful face. "Thank you, miss." He stood up and bowed, and quickly disappeared.
Akai walked on through the city, quickly scanning the shops. Nothing came to her sight that seemed useful for now. She walked on, waiting to find someone or something interesting in town.

After walking for about thirty minutes before she ended up at the forest again. Akai sighed, her hair that she had let down this morning blowing across her face. Her hands were rough and hard, perfect for her anyway. She looked down at her hands, clenching them before thinking of what to do.
She took her backpack off and sat down, leaning against the tree. She took out her pipa, which had recently been used earlier that day. She tuned it, making sure all the notes were the right notes. She played the scales, sounding out each note firmly. One was out of tune. She did her best to get it back, and it worked.
Akai sighed, this time with content. Her back turned away from the city, she strummed a melody which her mother had taught her. She then whispered the words to the song, not trying to make a crowd appear around her. The words to the song were. "Wish, wish for love. Wish, wish to hear the tune. Wish, wish for peace. Wish, wish for all your dreams to be nice. On the stars of paradise."
