The sound of the wind against the outside walls was a strong echo, firm and powerful on its intervals, but compared to the people in the pub, it was drowned out like the creaking floor boards and shuffle of feet and chairs. All came together to make an ordinary muster of the room’s life; the tempest outside forgotten for social bustling and pleasure in this small worn down town.
She had enjoyed it though… walking over to the inn with her navy hood up over dark locks, in the darkening light. The strong gusts pushing against her back as if to remind her of her place against nature in its entirety with its little hints. It wasn’t ideal travelling weather, but Kaijin couldn’t help but love how raw and clean the air seemed to be when it was like that, and it didn't much matter for travelling since she would spend a few days here at least. There seemed to be renovating here and there, which meant there might be places that would hire her for some extra labour. She wasn't afraid to carry things or do that kind of labour for something in return.
Now within the confines of the inn’s main room, which she had guessed correctly as a public house for even those who were not staying in its service for the night, she sat alone along the wall of the entrance. Her bright amber eyes which had matched the day’s sunset gazed out the window towards the hidden horizon. She sat on a small table with her sock and sandal clad feet on an old wooden chair. Her head leaned back against the framing and nook for the window, and her ear remained an inch or so from the cool glass of the pane. A thin ratty brown leather covered book in her hands, but she paid no more heed to it anymore. Instead she simply listened to the rattle of the window, and howl of the winds outside, finding it resonating nicely into her ear.
She had been a tad discontented to see that there were not many younger people about, nor did there seem to be anyone who was sitting alone that she had thought might be good for a conversation. However, she hadn't looked too hard, tired from a long day of traveling, but she did simply enjoy the presence of people again and pleased that there she hadn't come across any Fire Nation military men yet... perhaps she had just been lucky.
She remained there quite serenely trying her best to enjoy both sources of sounds. The occasional bursts of laughter from others were welcomed, for simply they meant someone was enjoying themselves. This town was indeed far poorer to some others she had visited, but the simplicity did not bother her. It meant as well she was paying a little less for a room, which was where her possessions were being stored upstairs. Except of course the book in her grasp, and the clothes on her back, baggier black material pants, a deep crimson tunic, with thin banded edges of navy and a golden yellow and similar coloured embroidery and a navy hood. Other than that she wore a simple black long sleeved shirt underneath and a maroon sash around her waist. Typical travelling clothes for her, and simple but comfortable in general.
Half-lidded eyes drifted back part way into the room, finding a man shifting his positioning, their gazes met for a brief moment, but she made sure not to let them lock at all. However, her calm yet vacant expression shifted, and she offered a slight curve in her lips. The small gesture gave a much warmer manner to her entire expression, but she let her eyes drift back out the window, the softer composure to her face did not die away quickly either. After a few moments, she couldn’t help but close her eyes and despite the array of noises, she drifted into a light sleeping state. Leaving her in a rather peaceful condition as she leaned against he wooden framing. A jolt or louder noise would no doubt wake her, but for the moment it she was rather at ease in the state.
