The dark blue sky of early morning twinkled with white stars. A red flame shot through the air above iron cages. "GET UP YOU LOT!" A Fire Nation soldier roared. Earthbenders of all ages yawned and rose sleepily before being goaded out of their cage like cattle. In their droning morning routine, they marched over to a small crackling fire, picked up a wooden bowl and spoon, and got their portion of thick bland gruel for breakfast. Then they'd go and work in the mines until sundown, with a small break for lunch. Liang stood up and walked through the mines, looking for his tunnel. B5. Right next to the one he was in yesterday. "That's strange. Im not even done with B4 yet." he thought. Odd, but he still had to do the work. The teen sat down and started to do some basic streaches. As a guard passed by, Liang quickly stood up and started to earthbend, pulling rocks out of the wall in front of him in hopes of finding more coal...

The Fire nation soldiers jerked Seika down from the top of the beast-like creature.She cried out as her knees slammed into the ground, and then as she was yanked back up.Her whole body ached from the way they tossed her around like a sack of potatoes.The captain of the operation turned when his subordinates called and pulled her after them.She was thrown back down on her knees, and felt a hand yank on her hair, pulling her face up to-wards the general...or higher in command."We found her snooping around,sir."
"Well, well, well ....are you a bender?" Seika felt her bottom lip tremble and she shook her head ."I asked you a question, girl!!" He slammed her head back and leaned to-wards her face."Ye-s-s sir...plea-ase don''t k-k-kill me..."She dropped her eyes and cried shamefully, shoulders shaking."Look at me when I am speaking to you,rat!"She lifted her head and gazed, afraid of being hurt again."Can you work girl?CAN YOU?!" "Yes-s sir.."
He gave a somewhat charming grin and motioned for the soldier to pick her up.A one did, he slung her right over his shoulder."Take her and get her some working clothes,men...then send her to work."Seika sobbed harder and began to fight against her captors."Lay still!" A hand connected with her skull, and soon everything went hazy and black....

Liang had been in these mines since he was eight. Not a very happy life. One thing kept him alive all these years. A dream. A dream of revenge! That thought made a malicious smirk crawl across his face while bending. Shoving his arms forward forcefully, a huge sheet of rock blasted out of his tunnel. Liang spun in a circle forcefully, but stopped when he was facing the outside. Someone was getting hurt. "Well, well, well ....are you a bender?" the captian asked. The girl shook her head.
."I asked you a question, girl!!" He jerked her head back and leaned in towards her face."Ye-s-s sir...plea-ase don''t k-k-kill me..." Her eyes dropped from his iron gaze and started to sob."Look at me when I am speaking to you, rat!" The child looked up. "Can you work girl? CAN YOU?!" he roared. "Yes-s sir.." the kid replied. He motioned for a soldier to pick her up. "Take her and get her some working clothes, men...then send her to work." he ordered. The soldier solemly marched off. The kid fought against him, but suddenly she went limp. "Why not have a little fun?" Liang Fai thought mischeviously.
He snuck out of his cell quietly, checking every which way to make sure nobody was watching. Bending a medium sized stone out of the ground, Liang hurled it towards the soldier and dashed back into his tunnel and started to bend as if nothing had happened...
