Mei Mei hung on the railings of the deck, watching the ship sear through the flesh of the water. It'd been five days since they last stopped for rest- and she was getting restless.
"Sir, are we there yet?" she questioned, stamping her foot impatiently. She'd been saying the same question for several hours now, and the man was getting irritated.
"Missy, you better shut your trap. There ain't no wind n' we ain't get'n no where t'day,"
"I hired you to get me somewhere, sir. You're getting me nowhere!"
"Ima tryin' me best, Missy. But like I said, we ain't get'n no where t'day,"
Mei Mei groaned suddenly, and then strolled her way to the other side of the boat. It was a simple merchant ship- and she happened to hitch a ride on it.
"There's something about the sea...," Mei Mei inquired, her eyes examining the glimmering surface of the water. At first, it remained quiet and soothing- but soon later a few fish darted into the air, only to sink into the water again. Mei Mei squealed in delight for the time being. But a mist of water sprang into her face and she fell back wards from shock; her figure falling on the deck with a thud.
Mei Mei grumbled a few words under her breath, wincing from the sting to her back.
"I was going to say something nice, but I'm getting real sick and tired of it now!" She screamed bitterly, smoothing the wrinkles on her robe and forcing herself to get up. But when she tried, she only fell to the floor again- howling in pain, her hands rubbing her sore thigh.
It certainly wasn't her day.
