There it is.
Kei's green gaze stared up at the massive stone face of the mountain on which the Eastern Air temple was rumored to exist. The wind whistled through the mountain peaks, blowing her loose hair into her face. Pushing it back, the dancer just stood there for a moment.
Her hunger for knowledge burned inside her, prodding her to move forward. Surely the Eastern Temple of the Airbenders would have held valuble scrolls; records and legends of the times of peace. She knew that such a time had existed, that there had once been a time without war! But, even so, she sought the knowledge of that era.
Perhaps she would even find a scroll of airbending techniques! While she had no bending abilities whatsoever, Kei was curios about the movements involved in bending. She had seen people earthbend before, and once, she even met a waterbender from the North Pole! She had been facinated by the technique involved in such a skill, and even now, a plan formed in the back of her mind. To her knowledge, there was no dance that incorporated bending movements, but what if she were to create one in honor of the lost nation?
The wind blew harder, jerking her from her thoughts. The sky was beginning to darken, and if she was to be dry tonight, she had best start her climb.
The air itself seemed to be trying to dissuade her as she worked her way up. It blew hard, forcing her to edge her way along the cliff-like path that led to the top. The ledge was narrow, and she slipped more than once, but somehow she maneged to keep her balance.
At last, the weary dancer completed her climb as the last of the sun's light faded. The Temple was a dark shape against the sky. Kei moved forward ion sore feet. There would be time to explore it tomorrow. For now, it was time to rest. She stepped through the doors of the main entrance-
-and stopped short in shock.
