Thank you Chamir for that dose of FAIL. Pretty much.. seeing them in costume.. seeing how they have ignored so much of the show's visuals (...Colored clothing people. We freaking have an animated show for visuals! I know it might not be realistic for inuit-like people to have blue cloth (I have no clue) but.. IT'S FANTASY HOW IT IS IN THE SHOW.).
Yeah.... not gonna see it unless it has absolutely rave reviews from the people who have organized the whole racebending movement.
I predict.. an eragon-like failure. Enough money made to keep them happy but enough of an OUTRAGE to ensure that no one makes a sequel. Not without redoing the first one.

ARGH!
How hard is it really to get blue dyed parkas? If they're going to mess up the characters they should at least have the clothing right. -_-
*Checks another box on the fail list* The only thing they've got going for them so far are graphics...

M.Night Shyamalan is directing it. How much more FAIL is there? xD

Well considering his Daughter LOVES the show and LOVES Katara and he himself is a person of color.. I had some hope! Plus, I love his movies u.u. Honestly, I don't blame M. Night. I blame Paramount and the executives who make these choices.

So what is the opposite of 'squee'? The rubbish looms closer and the only thing I can look forward to is the possibility of additional and reinvigorated players here. Meanwhile the OhNoTheyDidnt livejournal community posted pics of 'The Last Airbender' figures and I continue to have geek crush on Avalon's Willow due to her recent and inspiring post of "Recognition, Codes & Box Office Draw" posted on her blog and signal boosted at racebending livejournal community. Her tags concerning the movie are also worth perusing through whenever you find time.

Some of those people seem overzealous to me... but I signed a long time ago. *shrug* Like the article, but those reasons she passes off as excuses ARE reasons (as far as the studio is concerned). I wonder if she realizes that.

So Shyamalan has given failtastic interviews recently concerning the movie with comment sections that are even more wonderfully failtastic. From IO9From UGOAnd some particular changesJust a few of the many things that made my slapping hand twitch. M. Night Shyamalan: Jordan Hoffman: And here's a lovely link to the Avatar Racefail Bingo gameEDIT: UGO's tag for the movie.

A lovely little comic/would-be public service announcement from Gene Luen Yang, an award winning graphic novelist. =) And don't bother with the comments section. Full of fail. You've been warned.

If it wasn't for Robin Hood, this move would be the worst of the year and possibly the decade. They left out Jet, Suki, and Avatar Roku... There was no air ball riding, very little comic relief, and no drama to require any comic relief. They took a great concept, butchered it up into little bits, tossed away a couple vital characters, and then slapped it into a live action adaption without any soul or effort.
Seriously, I thought "I am legend" was a better movie... I thought spiderman 3 was a better movie...even ...evan almighty...
