But why is her hair not blonde? I thought the movie established that--*is shot* Yet it is impressive that the show is having a female lead that's First Nations/Woman of Colour (analogue). Though a bit cautious about the whole "rebellious teen" thing and what she's suppose to be rebelling from. Curious as to whether or not the Zutara ship has been sunk and how many characters are still alive after almost three quarters of a century. More press release. Turns out she's already supposedly on her last element too. Guessing she's gonna be full fledged Avatar a lot earlier in the series then. And I guess the new era harks back to the planning of the original series being set in a futuristic/sci-fi setting.

o.0 Interesting. It'll be fun to see where this goes, but I hope it doesn't lose the charm that the original had. Now when's this all supposed to premiere? And it had better fooking be online, because I NEVER get to watch it.

I wonder if Tenzin, Aang's son is a bender. It would be interesting if he wasn't a bender but Aang still taught him what he could of Airbending so the next Avatar could learn it? That would make it really hard for Korra I bet. Also Republic City sounds like our own Nadai Island!
2011, Hibs. We'll have a countdown when we have an offical date FOR SURE.

Intriguing. I think I would kinda like that--if it turns out that Aang was indeedy the last airbender. And I'm guessing from the pic, but I think Republic City is located at the Northern Air Temple. Also, Mike and Bryan give an interview about the new series.

*still lives*
This sounds and looks pretty badass so far (or as badass as a single stillshot can look). I wonder if this whole series is going to deal with the Age of the Avatar coming to a close. What with all the Airbenders gone, and the borders of the 4 Nations likely changed forever, the balance that existed before is probably forever lost. And according to the giant Lion-Turtle there was apparently an Era before the Avatar. I think it would be interesting to see the last of the Avatar's dealing with the rise of science and the loss of spirituality in a world possibly still reeling from the effects of 100 years of war.
It seems like there's any number of directions they could take this series, but I'm at least happy that Mike and Bryan are at the helm. I also liked the reference to a possible animated feature film as opposed to any more crappy attempts at live action or half-assed 3D. I wouldn't mind shelling out $ for a movie ticket to an epic side-aventure or missing chapter from the Avatarverse... Hell, I wouldn't even mind a one-shot story that had absolutely nothing to do with the main plot of the show, but just happened to be going on somewhere else in the world at the time. It's such a rich universe that there's an endless possibility of stories to tell.

*nods at Aden* I was wondering about the 'end of the avatar', but IDK. If it's a feel-good ending, it'll be a return to the spirituality albeit in a different balance, but if it's a series that would end interestingly, maybe the Avatar does come to an end. Either way, fun-ness.
