So are there fans of any other anime out there?
(I say anime loosely since Avatar TLA is not strictly speaking an Anime...)
I personally like Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, and my all-time favorite: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

I usually refer to AtLA as anime when I purposely wanna generate aggro. Along with referring to anime as cartoons and cartoons as anime.
Heh heh, nerdrage can be amusing.
From what you mentioned I rather like the Ghost in the Shell franchise. Eventually plan on reading the original manga series of it too one of these days.
As for listing anime... we'll just say I'm an anime-holic to save us time.

i don't really watch anime anymore, but when i was a kid i'd def BAD! with sailor moon and dbz. a few others too, like cowboy bebop, outlaw star, ruroni kenshin, tenchi muyo!, cardcaptors, and the big o, but dbz and sm were like...my golden calf, haha. i'll still put cowboy bebop on the highest pedestal though, it's a great show outside of its status as a cartoon <3
edit okay, apparently more than "a few", haha

Animes and RP websites were both becoming mainstream when I was a kid (I assume me and Ikky are about the same age). My friends watched DBZ but I never did. One of my friends even tried to get me on a DBZ RP post site then but I didn't.
But then I started to catch Ghost in the Shell and FMA on Adultswim. And being older and capable of buying my own things and such, I purchased some episodes and so on...
And now I am a full blown addict!
I cant get enough of some of these shows, some are a little kiddy for me and God knows I HATE filler episodes, but overall I find the universes to be so creative. The Avaverse being one of the my favorites.
And the RP sites are another way of exploring the worlds created in the shows so I have been addicted to a few RP sites over the years.
I can see that there are WAY better writers on this site than me, so I know there is real talent here and creativity too.

I think they actually played one season of it on Adult Swim, but Serei no Moribito was definitely one of my favorite series. I think the translation may have been Guardian of the Spirit. Though really, Balsa is the main reason that show kicked ass... Such a great character. She even made the slice-of-life filler episodes interesting.
In addition to that, FMA is still one of my favorites (haven't watched enough of Brotherhood to have a definite opinion, but the story definitely moved faster).
DBZ, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, Pokemon... those were all okay, but they hold much greater nostalgia value than actual entertainment quality. Though i do think that DBZ Abridged is one of the most amusing and well-done parodies in all of anime spoofing.
However, there is one anime I kinda found completely by chance that hasn't found a huge place in America yet, but that I loved immensely. History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi was probably one of the best martial arts animes I've ever seen, all while being hilarious and not too over-the-top. If you ever get a chance to watch it, the whole dubbed series is on Youtube under the account 'AnimeCaper'.

I'll take the rec under advisement. Watched that for the same reason too. Adult Swim annoyed me how they couldn't keep it on a single schedule but eventually they showed the whole 26 episode series. Over the summer I ended up reading the book it was based on. In comparison the anime stretched its length to give the character's detail and extend some events that went by rather quickly in the book. Eventually I'll be reading the second book in the series. From the looks of it most of us got our start in anime from the cartoon network. Myself, here in the US, I go back with the original runnings of shows like Voltron, Robotech then Ronin Warriors, Samurai Pizza Cats (to name a few) back when they aired on local stations. Was still a bit too young to fully comprehend the shows or even understand how they were different from regular cartoons. In fact there were some anime played on local stations even before that/me. Didn't come to understand it as anime/Japanimation until later with the original Vampire D movie on TNT, and Saturday morning anime movies on SciFi channel followed by weekly anime movies and episodes on the Starz Action Channel. And somewhere inbetween that DBZ and Sailor Moon were playing on the local stations but DBZ hardly scratched the Namek arc's beginning before re-running and Sailor Moon went into reruns befoore the season that introduced Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. Then eventually cartoon network began picking up anime licensees. *rocks in chair* And when you bought anime it came on a VHS. You had the choice of either dub version, which sometimes included whatever editting work they did, or the subtitles which cost a lil extra. And manga? Manga?! Hah! Good luck finding those depending on where you lived. Someone hand me my cane. I need to go take a nap.

LMAO!
Cham you are hilarious. I think I am older than you but you have years on me when it comes to anime.
**Places an afghan quilt on Cham as he rocks back and forth on the screened in porch**
Voltron, I actually watched as a toddler (vaguely remembers).
In fact I got up on CN when they showed Centurions, a show that aired a bit before my time but my older brother drolled over ... it was sweet.
Plus they played Justice League and eventually Thundercats (Thats my TIHS!!!!!).
Ronin Warriors was a show I watched when it aired first in America and again when it aired on CN. I was a Ronin freak! Didn't remember to reference it until you mentioned it. (Also remembered my only Manga experience: Ramna 1/2).
I had the Talpa and White Ryo figures ... they were sweet!
(wonders what I did with em..?)
Modified: (BTW Aden: Brotherhood is IMO better than the 2003 anime, you should finish it!)

Anyways .... I forgot to ask earlier (and since it improves my post count:)
Is anyone here a member of another RP site? Is there a couple of you that r on the same one?
I have recently joined a FMA RP since I have abandoned my two previous RP sites. I figured I would have enough free time to RP as another char. I RP as Alphonse Elric, and the plot has just been reset.
While I still value all the RP that has been done on this site in the past, I can now appreciate how invigorating a Plot refresh can be for a dying site.
The two previous sites that I left were dying a slow death. There were members that took over moderation for the original members but it didn't last long. Many of the new RPer were very young and would only post like 2-3 lines per RP post. It was frustrating because we wanted any life whatsoever, however we (the laters that took over for the the earliers) found it depricating to allow the lesser RP to take over.
I took my leave earlier than most (as I was not a mod).
I felt like I was abandoning a family however it was not so 'close' anymore.
I only shared this info to gain some: Any1 that is a member of another RP site and cares to post about it need only apply here:
