Physical Appearance: Yuki has a unique genetic make up. Her mother hailed from the Northern Water Tribe while her father was from the fire nation. Because of this she was born with a lighter skin tone than most people in her nation. While she still retains the blue orbs and dark hair that her heritage as a water bender is known for. She has a very slender build with well defined curves. She does have straight long hair that falls to about the middle of her back when it is down.

Clothing: she often dresses in a light blue dress with a slit on each side of the bottom with a high collar and black boots that come up to her knees with tight black pants. She usually keeps her hair up in a ponytail with some strands falling in her face.

Equipment?: She often has a brown bag that the strap crosses her ches and lands on her hip and a small container that carries water should she need it.

Personality: Yuki is pretty quiet honestly. She tends to keep to herself and often comes across as shy. Although she is a very determined young woman who works hard and is very loyal to those she trusts. Once she is comfortable around people though does come out of her shell. When that happens she is accually a very bold personality who is unafraid to take risks. She has a pretty hot temper and a tendency to be impatient at times.

Background: Yuki was born and raised in the northern water tribe. Her father was accually a decendent from the fire nation while her mother was from the northern water tribe. They were both born in republic city, although her father died in an attack by some gang members while her mother was pregnant. Out of fear and depression her mother ran away to the northern tribe where she lived with one of her siblings during her daughters young life. Yuki chose to move to republic city when she was seventeen feeling there was not much she could do with herself if she stayed in the Northern tribe much longer.

Sample RP: The form of a slender girl walked through the snow. A shiver running down her spine as the cold air bit at her skin. It seemed like her feet were sinking deeper into the snow as she moved to return to her home. She watched the smoke rise from the building made of snow as she ran to her mother who was outside hanging something to dry or better yet freeze in the icy weather.

A soft sigh left her mouth as she moved closer to the other female. She knew that her mom was uncertain of her leaving to go to republic city. Although she didn't really care honestly. This was the path that the young waterbender felt drawn to follow now. She knew the story behind her mother's fear of her going to Republic City. That was where the teen's life began, but her father's life ended when he was being robbed one day.

Yuki walked over to her mother and wrapped her arms around her. While she would visit when she could it would not be the same as seeing her every day. So she would greatly miss her. Some tears streamed down her cheeks as she went inside. When the girl awakens in the morning she would be leaving to board the ship soon after and start a new journey in her young life.

Physical Appearance:

Let's have some more description here. We provide a color list in our Profile resources if you need help but what color is her skin? What color are her eyes? Her hair? Just saying light skin ton and blue gives us no idea as there are many many options and options vary by what is considered light and dark. Maybe her skin is light for Water Tribers, but normal for Fire Nation, hence why we need more a more quantifiable answer. Describe her face, her body more. Is she tall? Is she short? Does she have large, expressive eyes with thick lashes or sultry, narrow eyes? Or perhaps she has childlike features with big, glimmering eyes, a small petite button nose and an infectious smile? Does she wear any makeup as we've seen some ladies do or does she go au natural? Does she have freckles or really red cheeks? Rough hands from working all day or smooth, ladylike with long nails? Does she style her hair at all (Ah, I see that's listed in clothing, which is fine.. you can disregard these comments here if you'd like)? What common styles and is it cut any particular way?


Clothing:

We'll need some more description here. It sounds like you're describing a modern qipao which seems to be more of a formal dress than anything you'd wear on average. A qipao is acceptable, but let's try and jazz it up. They're often highly patterned, so throw some color on it, some designs. Maybe alter the cut some so it's not your standard modern cocktail hour qipao. Maybe give it some detailing like this Qipao here with the arching trim of the front panel, the ribbon holding it closed.. and the double trim. Does it have sleeves and how long is it? Does she wear anything over it keep a jacket with her or a long coat? Again, let's try not to use plain colors like black or blue - we have a wide range of colors to use (In my job alone, we have about 3 different black-straightoutofthecan- colors we use. We have at least 8 blues, then we have all the mixed blues we've come up with.) Describe her boots. Are they high heeled? Flat? Thick? Do they have any decoration? Snaps on them? Ribbons? Traditional curled fire nation toes (which I did come across what those were called.. I forget it now)?

We're also open to people who may want to describe more than one outfit, or to give us a general idea of what kinds of clothes their characters like outside of their main oufit. Feel free to have fun with this section.

We encourage you to research 1920s, 1910s fashion in addition to traditional Asian outfits. A lot of times you can take a 1920s fashion and add elements to make it Asian or take away elements. Also, try exploring steampunk for some ideas (That's what I did for Sarika's outfit).Check out this Steampunk Qipao It's a little plain and the pattern isn't the best, neither is the color, but you could accent that with some geisha-like hair decorations, give her a spunk bag (Like you already have) with some brass or gold FN style accents on it and it'd be awesome.




Equipment?:

Now from her clothing I gathed she's a glamorous woman, so I have to ask if you plan to spice up her bag. Either way, we're going to need some more. Tell us about the bag. Is it a messenger bag? just a small purse? Drawstring bag? Is it stained or brand new? Material? Decorations? Is her water container part of it or a seperate item? Does it have water tribe decorations or on or even Fire Nation influence?

Personality: I'm concerned because usually shy and quiet does not go with 'bold' personality, a hot temper and impatience. However, drawing from my own experience.. the folks here at FS would say I have a bold personality but I actually have a social anxiety and a social phobia in real life. Hm.. maybe what would help here is a bit more about her. How does she act when she's really happy, upset, angry and sad? What are some of her goals and dreams? Does she have any pet peeves or annoyances? Hobbies or habits that she enjoys?

Okay.. like everything else, we're gonna need some more substance her.
We've never really liked the whole one or both parents getting killed. It's kinda cruel. ;.; Think of the parents.

So anywho.. We need some more info on Yuki's childhood - you actually talk more about her parents here than you do Yuki herself. 5 Sentences.. only 2 actually mention Yuki. Talk about her parents relationship, her birth, her childhood and her learning. What was she like as a child? What was her education like? What did she learn and how was she taught water bending? Since she grew up in the Northern Water Tribe, was her bending education mostly healing focus? We will probably find out if the NWT has changed their water bending teaching to include women in the new season actually. It might be wise to play it safe and just have her know healing right now.. and if they have changed, we'll let you retroactively add that in if you wish. Tell us about her home life and when she moved to Republic city as well how she adapted to the city. I suggest looking at some of the accepted profiles, or some of the old accepte profiles for some ideas.




Sample RP: You meet our word count just fine, so you do not need to edit this if you do not want to. I'm well known for encouraging folks to go farther with their RP samples so I always encourage folks to really spend time describing. What does she see, here, smell, taste, touch.. things like the smoke from a nearby cooking fire. What sort of architecture is she passing by? What sort of textures does she feel and experience? Remember that body language is actually about 75% of how we communicate, more than words actually, so use it in your posts if you can. Incorporate expressions and how a person carries themselves, holds themselves, all sorts of fun things. Just some ideas.
