So, I'm new, I want to hop in as soon as I have a character made and approved, but I got some questions.

Is this board still active?

Has the incidents of book Air already occurred?

Is the board more focused on Original Characters (I hope so).

Is there a thread or storyline that I could enter in at to get playing right away?

Do I have to play a combative character?

I'm Sarika, Co-Admin and the board Owner (bloodless Coup).

Is this board still active?

The Answer is MAYBE. ...It went dead for a while because those of us around (Chaku, Yahto, Chen, Shen, Ai Fen and Myself) all have jobs and university courses. I myself have two jobs. And a crippling addiction to Minecraft and Guild Wars 2. We're all players from the board's original run which started back in... 2003-ish? So we all know each other. Parts of this board serve as a repository for that story and when Legend of Korra started, Chaku and Yahto and Chen and Shen pulled my still warm corpse from it's grave and got me to make a skin and reopen it. We tried.. but maybe not hard enough? RP is dying in general but I still get the urge.

So it's a Maybe.

Has the incidents of book Air already occurred? No, it hasn't! Feng Shui is actually know for (back during our 'Avatar:The Last Airbender' run) running the canon story through our RP but allowing folks to explore the common people - those who the story actually effects. We wanted to do something similar here with Korra's story. How would the non-bender movement affect Republic City's average citizens? We have spots for all canon characters and folks can play them and the general rule is - Head in the basic direction of the story but if you want Korra to hook up with Bolin instead of Whatshisface, fine by us!


Is the board more focused on Original Characters (I hope so). Yes! See above comment. We like to tell the stories of *Clears throat* "the reckless mobster, the rising pro-bending star, and the street urchin. " We do encourage our best players (Or rather we did encourage our best players) to pickup Canons (I am the resident Princess Azula from 2006ish to Eternity).

Is there a thread or storyline that I could enter in at to get playing right away?
Possibly? Right now we just have dead threads that MAY get revived if I can ever get my foot out of my ass to post. Zan Yu is looking for trouble in the Dragon Flats district and Sarika is a Sassy waitress at Narook's. Yahto is off polishing.. his bike or something. Possibly talking on his C-B radio..

Do I have to play a combative character?


Nope! Most of our best characters weren't soldiers in the original incarnation of Feng Shui. We want to tell the story of the average person whom these events affect. That could be a police force member, a race car driver wannabe (looking at you Chen), a pro bender (Shen) or a shady character (Zan Yu). You do not have to engage in any combat if you do not want to. Certainly, if combat occurs in your thread and it makes sense for your character to witness it (Sarika has had it UP TO HERE with Shen's dislike of water tribe food and starts Waterbending an octopus on his face and your character is in Narook's) he will probably see it and will need to react appropriately. Hopefully by laughing at Shen's pain.

Thanks for the prompt reply! It was very informative. I know things were busy as hell for me in college too, so I understand not having time to sit down and relax; two jobs? Whew!

Anyways, it's good to know that the board has the potential of going active once again, maybe. I'll probably look over some of the story stuffs, potboil a character concept, post, and let it languish here until things pick up again.

Always waitin for these bums to post so I have something to do. Be it a thread post or profile, I've been waitin here like a spider in her web. AND STARVING!!

And once things become regularly active again, I can finally go ahead and finish Uhchakulak. She's been left on back burner because I'm not sure if I should go ahead with the effort while I stare at a calendar waiting as my web turns into a cobweb.

Until then, I just you Zan Yu to try and cause some chaos.
