Desna seemed almost completely out of it. Aden was about to check her breathing when she didn't respond right away, but she attempted to get up on her own. He stood up as well but kept his hands ready to catch her should she fall. Miraculously the girl made it to an upright position, though it seemed tenative at best.
"This way," Aden said, as he placed a hand behind her back to guide her toward the edge. He felt like he was leading around a zombie, or a senile old woman who hadn't left her bed in years. When she reached the opposite edge of the ship where Pikatti was already waiting, he helped her into a itting position with her feet dangling over the ice before hopping out ahead of her. Aden then pulled her down so that he was carrying her in his arms and called another 'thank you' to the boatman.
Aden considered putting Desna down and letting her attempt to walk through the marketplace and toward the next crossing of the canal, but he decided against it. With their height difference as much as it was, he would have to stoop uncomfortably low to support her right and chances were that it would take them too long to cross without his dragging her the whole way. So instead he simply kept her in his arms and started off quickly down the street.
The young warrior did his best to ignore the odd looks people gave him and simply focus on what was important. The healers were very familiar with diseases like this, brought on by the cold, but even their remedies were limited when one goes too long without treatment.
Eventually he came to one of the criss-crossing waterways that lay deeper in the city and crossed a few bridges before spotting a gondalier without any passengers. "Excuse me!" he called out, catching the other man's attention as he hurried across the bridge. The gondalier slowed down his boat and even from a fair distance Aden could make out the odd expression he wore. "I need a ride to the healing huts. Quickly."
"Is she hurt bad?" the other man asked as he guided his ship up to the nearest corner where they could hop on, concern evident in his voice.
"She's sick," Aden explained as he slowed to a stop by the water's edge and the gondalier reached up to accept Desna from him. "I would guess pneumonia, but it looks really bad."
The gondalier gave Desna one look and nodded slightly. He was no doctor, but it wasn't difficult to see that there was something wrong with the girl. He placed her easily into one of the seats while Aden and Pikatti hopped in.
"All right, hold onto to your seats" the gondalier said, and he began bending them swiftly along the canal toward the next lock.

She seemed to be standing alright, by her standards anyway, why did everyone have to be in such a hurry, it hurt to move, still Aden stayed with her, helping her to the edge of the boat then helping her down, that was what she thought at least but sooner than she knew it she was cradled in his arms. She groaned and shifted slightly trying to be freed of the physical trap. But she was tired and it wasn't very easy to struggle when you were being held as she was.
A frown crossed her face and even with the scarlet blush brought on by the fever she found it in her to whine and complain. She was thinking for a moment, something was missing and she didn't want to be carried like a child.
" Aden" She whimpered but he was walking through the crowd and her head hurt. It would be so much easier to close her eyes and go along with it but she was proud and stubborn, that wasn't how she played but usually she was at least able to keep a smile on her face. A feat deemed impossible for the past few days as her illness hit harder than it had before. Originally it was just sniffles and she stayed out of Shai but it had gotten worse, not much she could do. She should have stayed put but if she did Pikatti wouldn't have anymore fish and the oil for the house would run out. She needed to get back.
Trying again she grabbed a weak hold on Aden's parka somewhat serious look crossing her face as she did her best to still her vision and look at the boy carrying her around like a little doll. " Aden.. wheres my sled?" It didn't seem like he was answering but perhaps she was speaking too quietly, it was frustrating to say the least.
Her head drifted back as she found it too much of a strain for her. Her entire body was sore and she just wanted to curl back into her own bed and sleep with Pikatti serving as her personal heating unit next to her. Was that so much to ask for honestly? She worked har generally speaking, it wasn't fair. Why did she have to get sick.
Her hand lost it's grip on Aden's parka and slipped down to her stomach where her other hand still clung to her hat like a life lock. Then they came up to another canal, it seemed like they were getting on another boat but she was out again, changing hands between men to get on the gondola. She was set down and Pikatti brisk as always merely hopped inside the boat before they took off. She slumped in her seat the scenery blurring by under her half open eyes..
When she felt better she'd argue, now she just wanted to sleep. She allowed herself to lean on Aden's shoulder sighing pathetically from the pain in her head. Why wouldn't it just go away and leave her be? Her breathing was slightly labored and even with the cold on her face she felt like she was burning up. " Too hot.... it's too hot..." She whimpered into the fabric of the scarf still around her neck.

Aden did indeed findin himself holding on tight to the sides of the gondola as the gondolier propelled them through the water at a rapid pace. Once or twice they cut off another boat, but they ignored the shouts of the other people and continued on their way. Aden was truly grateful for the man's urgency, but he was worried that they'd capsize before they reached their destination.
Desna was occasionally mumbling incoherent sentences, but Aden felt like he couldn't do too much to help her. On a whim he scooped up a handful of water from the canal and applied the 'glove' of water to her forhead. He made his best attempt at infusing the water with healing energies, but he barely managed to keep the small mass glowing for more than a few seconds at a time.
*******************************************************
Before long the gondolier had navigated them across the second level of the city and gotten a lift up into the city's upper rings. Aden helped Desna off the boat and onto the ice and turned toward the boatman. "Thanks for your help," he said, and he began fishing a free hand into his pocket to grab some coins for payment.
"Forget it, kid," the gondolier said, waving him off. "Get her to the healing huts." Aden paused for a moment, slightly surprised at the charity. "Go." the gondolier repeated and he poointed up towards the huts.
Aden nodded his thanks once more and then scooped up Desna over his shoulder. He apologized in advance for the indignation, but there was another flight of stairs to go and he figured it would be easier to mange her weight in that position.
Shortly thereafter he was approaching the healing huts with a nearly senseless girl in his arms. Aden didn't have to wait long before he was noticed by a woman standing near the entrance to one of the buildings of the healing complex who approached him asking, "What's happened?"
"She's sick he replied, "I think pneumonia but I'm not sure..." Aden brought Desna forward and attemptd to put her on her feet to stand if she could manage it.

Desna found herself grateful for the cool feeling on her forehead, as she passed in and out of exhaustion induced sleep she couldn't really figure out where the sensation was coming from but she liked it. The feeling of the cold water was so soothing it was easy to loose herself to which she did. A small sigh escaping her lips when he touched her forehead gently like a feather.
Pikatti was worried though. His head laid down on Aden's lap and he whimpered with his ears pinned back. The jostling boat didn't bother him much, he was too worried about his master *******************************************************
By the time they reached the stop Desna was asleep though not soundly, if anything she tried to cling to her uncontiousness. It was pleasant, more so then the pounding in her head and the odd turns her vision had been taking. All of a sudden she felt a pain in her stomach and groaned awake finding herself over someones shoulder. She shifted trying to turn and see the persons face but she just gave up and let herself hang over him, her hair a mess over her face as one might expect.
The next thing she knew they were at the healing huts, put on her feet she was mostly asleep and no where near prepared to support her own weight and because of such she dropped like a rock, it was only my miracle alone the woman snagged Desna as she leaned into Aden and she was hoisted to a standing position as the woman slapped Desna's cheeks lightly. " Honey, wake up..." Desna opened her eyes and stared at the woman for a second before closing them again. The woman pursed her lips in concern and looked to Aden. " Well, bring her in and we'll do what we can."
In a motherly manner she smoothed Desna's hair against her head and went inside quickly setting up a bedroll for her getting a bowl full of water and setting down some various herbs and utensils. Glancing Aden's way she smiled politely " Are you her husband?" She asked wanting to know his connection to the patient if anything else it would tell her what to do with her once they did all they could for her.

"No," Aden responded quickly to the healer's question of his relation to Desna, "Just a friend. I found her out in the street. I have no clue how she was even standing then."
"I see," the healer replied. Aden helped her in carrying Desna into the hut itself and positioned her on the bedroll. It seemed like a few other healers had come over to help with a myriad of little duties that apparently went on in this place. Aden hadn't been seriously ill for quite some time now, and so he'd forgotten how busy the healing huts could be.
"I'll have to ask you to wait outside now," the healer told him, pulling Aden from his observations. The young warrior looked at her for a moment, trying to decipher the words that he had only half-heard while he was distracted. The woman mistook his lack of actual hearing for confusion and explained, "It's not proper for non-family members to be around during some of these procedures.
"Ah," Aden said, "Okay... Do you know if she'll be all right?" he asked, "And how long she might need to stay?" The woman was already walking him out of the room and she said assuringly, "We'll do our best, but she'll need to stay at least for the night."
"Okay," Aden said, quickly scanning his thoughts for some other question he should ask the woman before he left Desna's side. However, nothing else came to mind before he was kicked out of the room, and so he left it at that.
For a few moments he stood around in the loby of the healing huts where people would wait for their maladies to be treated or family members could have a seat during healing seassions.
Was there something he was supposed to do now?

The healer stripped Desna first of her parka then of her shirt leaving the girl exposed, at least rather so for the northern water tribes, still her chest wrap was saving her a slight amount of modesty as the healer drew water from the bowl at her side. Illnesses like this were nothing new though they usually weren't allowed to progress this far before they were treated. Her hands moved across the girls chest working out various little kinks, mucus where it shouldn't be and unclogging chi paths throughout her body.
For the majority of the time Desna was sleep but when the woman started work on her head Desna's eyes opened in a flutter starring at the ceiling of the building. Her hair and bangs were pulled away from her face to allow the woman to work but it didn't stop her from the habit of trying to move hair from her face. Gently the healer took her hand and guided it back to the bed, in a small amount of confusion Desna looked behind her trying to see the woman touching her. It was a little odd to wake up in this sort of condition. " Now now dear, just relax and try to rest. " Of course being the person she was Desna sat up with her hair around her shoulders, bangs flopping in her face as she tried to wake herself up. She felt better, still sore and sickly feeling but it was better.
" Dear..." The healer placed a hand on her shoulder and tried to guide her back down into the bed roll. " You need to rest, you're not ready to get up yet." Desna frowned as she was forced back down and once the woman went to retrieve the water from her bowl Desna was up again and trying to pull her shirt back on despite feeling stiff as a board. " Thank you for helping." She murmured and the woman frowned taking the shirt from her and pushing her lightly back onto the bedroll. " Miss, you need to at least stay here the night, your in no condition to leave."
" What?!" Desna looked at her squarely her head pounding and this woman was telling her she had to stay here? Like hell she was. " No Way!" She exclaimed trying to force herself up but she wasn't doing so well, not like she was too strong to begin with.
" Miss you need to lie back down!"
In the waiting room Pikatti's ears perked up hearing his masters voice and he sent a worried look to Aden before trotting to the door flap wanting investigate the yelling.

Aden had only stuck around the waiting room for a minute or so before he decided to leave the healers to their work. He patted Pikatti consolingly and assured the bear-dog that he'd be back later.. whether or not it was understood, he didn't know.
The young warrior took off at a brisk walk from the healing complex and began making his way down the flights of stairs to the lower levels of the city. It occurred to him that Desna's sled, as well as his mother's purchases, were still down by the docks and he should probably go fetch them in his downtime. The healers needed time to work anyway.
About fifteen minutes later, Aden was pushing a slab of ice back up the steps with Desna's sled securely frozen to it. He got some curious looks from passersby, but he ignored them. Within another five minutes he had pushed the sled up to the housing levels and all the way to his own home.
Aden parked the sled outside his house and collected his groceries from its flatbed. He walked into his den and found his mother sitting on the furs stitching up a pair of pants.
"Where have you been all this time?" she asked, sounding concerned but not quite angry.
"I saw Desna by the docks," he answered as he walked around into the kitchen to deposit the groceries. His mother looked up, clearly intrigued by news of Desna's return.
"And you've been talking all this time?" his mother asked, almost hopefully.
"No... I took her to the healing huts. She's pretty sick."
"Is it serious?" She put down the needle and thread.
"She was barely standing, but the healers didn't sound too worried..." Aden could see his mother getting ready to stand and he quickly held up his hands to try and calm her down. "There's no need to-"
"Doesn't she have any relatives we should tell about this?" she asked, "You met some of her friends. Who's going to be there to-"
"Mom, please," Aden said, trying to kill some of her momentum. He sometimes got annoyed when she started to take the weight of the world on her own shoulders. "I... I'll go wait by the huts myself, okay?" She cast him a serious look for a moment before slowly nodding.
"You do that," she said. "And here, bring some fresh water for her."
"Mom," Aden said, almost laughing at the absurdity of it, "We're surrounded by water."
"Just do this!" she shot back and ran into the kitchen.
However, Aden didn't stick around to accept the gift and ran out of the house before she could shout at him to come back. The young warrior took his time getting back to the healing huts, figuring that the healers would need plenty of time to work through Desna's developed illness. Almost ten minutes later he was walking back into the waiting room.
Another few minutes passed and a commotion sounded from Desna's room.

Everything came crashing back to her, she didn't know a lot of things about the past day, she was still feeling very wonky. Her head was in pain but the fog was almost gone even though her eyes weren't exactly focused, she had slight vertigo and her body hurt. It was nothing compared to how she'd been feeling over the past couple days though.
It wasn't as if she didn't enjoy curling up on the floor just to feel the cold on her face. Ugh she should honestly have laid down and enjoyed the healing session but now that her head was feeling better and she was thinking, she knew that she needed to get home.
The walk was long and she didn't remember where her sled was let alone where Pikatti was, hell she couldn't clearly remember how she got here. She was frustrated and weakened by her illness still she had an advantage, the healer didn't seem too over enthused with the idea of having to forcefully restrain her.
Clamoring to her feet she took her shirt and coat in one arm starting to slip the shirt on and managing to fasten the bottom clasp up as she moved past the door flap stubbornly only to meet Pikatti half way. Obviously at this point the healer was beside herself.
" Your not even dressed!" She argued coming through the door and trying to edge her back into the room. Desna whimpered in protest as she was moved back into the room, it wasn't as if she had the strength to push away the taller woman. Once again she was guided to the bed roll and made to lay down. With a huff Desna laid there for a second closing her eyes and trying to get her thoughts to clear.
" Just relax, I'm sure your family will come to pick you up tomorrow and you can head home to rest." The healer pulled a blanket over Desna and smoothed her hair, did some other things like bend water into a towel, and place it on her forehead then she got up to attend something else Desna could only assume.
She didn't resist much at the time seeing as her vision was going for another swim and a steady pulse of pain rippled from the back of her head. When she was able to open her eyes again she tried once more to sit up in her bed and get out of the healing huts but she couldn't move. A quick evaluation of her body informed her there were three loops of ice over the blanket holding her in place across her shoulders middle and legs.
Pikatti trotted in the room and plodded over to Desna sitting himself down and sniffing her face affectionately, she merely groaned and turned her head away. This was quickly becoming irritating, she just wanted to get home, if she didn't her plants wouldn't be cared for and would die.
No family was coming to pick her up tomorrow and if they managed to hear about this and come get her she'd rather hide in the healing huts far far away from them. Everything hurt and she was getting upset, she was too sore to struggle so she nestled her head against Pikatti's though he too was soon spotted. The healer sighed heavily and walked over to her bed roll again. " Shoo dog, shoo"

Aden leaned forward in his seat to try and glance down the main corridor of the healing huts. Barely a moment later, Desna came striding out from one of the rooms while trying to button up her shirt. It was nice seeing that she was healthy enough to be up and moving around, but he wondered why she was leaving the room so scarcely clothed. Pikatti had bounded over to her in an instant and Aden himself started to stand up and head her off as well.
As optimistic as he was about her making a recovery, he could hardly believe the healers had cured such an illness so quickly. However, before he had the chance to ask her in person, a healer from her room caught up with her and pulled Desna back in. The young warrior slowed in his approach, but continued forward until he was standing near the doorflap. He could hear muffled voices on the other side, but couldn't make out the words.
"I'm sorry, but that patient isn't quite finished her healing session yet," a voice to his side informed him. Aden turned to the speaker to see a young woman not much older than him who was carrying a blankey folded over her arms.
"Oh," Aden said, immediately stepping away from the door. The healer smiled at him for taking the hint and began to step past him and into the room. "Wait," he said quickly, before the healer could disappear from view. She stopped, and Aden's thoughts raced to come up with something to say as he inwardly conteplated the situation. "Um... Would you tell Desna that I brought her sled to my house? And that I'll check on her around sundown if she's not better by then?"
"I'll do that," the healer replied with a small nod and a smile. Aden bowed slightly and started toward the exit of the healing huts. It seemed like Desna would be spending a while in their supervision, and so he figured he might as well wait at home.

As soon as Pikatti was found curled up next to Desna he was dragged out to the lobby and now alone the puny herbalist lay in the furs of the futon uncomfortably. Pikatti didn't know what to do so he curled up growling at anyone who tried to move him outside of the building. Desna was left in the room as she faded in and out of sleep feeling sore and pained, it wasn't as if she could do anything more. Every half hour or so mini healing sessions invaded her sleep and she blearily starred up at the ceiling calming affects of the tea they fed her taking what was left of her fight.
It wasn't as if the healers had any quick fixes for this sort of illness, they just treated the symptoms and left it to run it's course. Still Desna had a lot of time to think laying there, honestly it wasn't as much think as it was stringing together bits and pieces of what she knew. Everything in her mind was like a giant puzzle, it fit together somehow but there were just so many clips it was hard to decide where to start. She began with wishing she were home drinking her grandmothers soup with Pikatti curled up warmly at her side.
That was left to scatter when a blinding pain shocked her from her temple rippling out to the rest of her body. Next she lingered over her plants which needed her back home, it was like a nightmare, the plants were icing over and she couldn't do anything. In the blankets she struggled and whimpered as a nurse applied more healing to her forehead. Before the woman left she put a damp cloth on Desna's forehead and patted her side.
Never one to do anything but smile it was so hard for her to accept the pain and the way her expression contorted with the pain as her head began to spin. She wished Aden were here, he'd make a joke and calm her down, she trusted him, enjoyed spending time with him, maybe everyone was right, maybe it was- Desna's eyes opened in a flash, her eyes misty and her mind trying to figure out what it was doing.
Why would she think about Aden? She didn't need anyone, they'd just hurt her. But... That didn't make sense... When she went to move she noticed the restraints were gone and she debated getting up but instead turned on her side curling into a little ball with the wet cloth flopping off her forehead. The tears streamed down her face and she closed her eyes tightly. It was easier to just not think.
" Are you feeling any better?" Desna opened her eyes and looked to the door where a girl stood with a smile and she sat up somewhat trying to calm herself and hide the pain she was still feeling. " A little" She croaked betraying her own ruse, her nose scrunched up and she looked down as if she could chide her own vocal chords. The girl didn't seem too phased though. " I'm glad, the boy who brought you here said he had your sled?" That was right Aden had brought her here, she remembered fuzzy flashes of him carrying her and cooling her forehead. Why did he care that much? Desna watched the girl and nodded feeling quite odd now, what in the realm of the spirits was wrong with her...

The walk home was long, not so much because Aden needed the time to think but simply because he was tired after crossing the breadth of the city twice in rapid succession. His mind did wander along the way, however. Part of him kept wondering if he should have stayed at the healing huts for as long as it took to make sure Desna was better. He knew that's what his mother would tell him to do. But he'd asked the nurse and she'd said that Desna was going to recover. And if they were still working on her and she needed rest, then what additional help would him sitting in the waiting room do?
Aden knew he was in for an earful even as he approached his house. The instant he stepped through the doorflap, he was immeditaley assailed with questions from his mother regarding Desna's condition, her prognosis, her eating schedule, and anything else his worrisome mother could think to inquire. It went on for some time, and even after she had exhausted her list of questions she would still suggest that he go back and si by her until she was better.
Eventually, Aden's father returned home and his mother got herslef worked up once more in retelling the story of the day's events. Aden wasn't quite sure how she was so confident on the little details of his mad dash through the canal, but it was in her nature to elaborate for the sake of a more engaging story. But regardless, his father took his son's level of concern as a more accurate measure of the serious of the situation and attempted to calm his wife down. He agreed with Aden's decision to visit around nightfall and convinced her to put her energy into filleting something edible.
In the meantime, Aden made sure to store Desna's sled securely on the side of his house and surround it with a makeshift shed of ice. He also spent some time playing with Tuli. The little kitten was beginning to get larger and even more attention hungry than before. He occasionally thought to check what time it was so he didn't wait too late before starting back up toward the healing huts, but aside from that he managed to keep from being too preoccuppied with Desna's condition.

Drifting between sleep for the next few hours was all but annoying, Again it seemed time to shove her head into a snow bank, what was wrong with her anyway? Thinking about someone like he was anything more than a cast away accessory, love was a trick of hormones making you think you needed someone like air but in the end they'd do something and you'd suffocate. It must have been the illness that was making her stupid, it didn't hurt that Aden had been nice, his parents were amazing and he seemed to genuinely care instead of looking the other way and believing her usual bull.
The pained headaches were dying down, now it was just an odd throbbing that scattered her thoughts whenever she was thinking too hard making her wonder what train of thought she was on exactly. It was getting dark outside, at least she thought it was, she missed Pikatti and felt like she needed to get home. Sitting up again she groaned her back sending a bolt of pain to the rest of her sore body and she slipped on her shirt fastening it up before heading out this time. She'd tugged her sash around her waist and looked up guiltily freezing in place when the healer walked in and crossed her arms disapprovingly at her. " Going somewhere....?"
With a sigh Desna fell back into the bed sheets and she walked over to the girls side bending some new cooler water into Desna's head cloth and setting it back on her forehead. It wasn't like she was at full strength yet but with all the trouble she was giving everyone it might be best to just let her go. "Fine." The girl said and Desna brightened somewhat, they were finally letting her leave it was perfect! She could get the sled and- " If you want we can contact your family and you can go home."
Desna found herself silent and slacked back against the bed " Well... I can go home... I'm sure they'll be there..." The healer frowned and shook her head doing a little bending with her throat and then her temples.
" We'd get them and they can come pick you up, your in no condition to be going anywhere on your own." It seemed that was the end of it, she looked away and held her tongue, they'd have to let her go eventually right? " So where do you think your mother is right now?" The healer asked busying herself with her bending trying to break up the mucus in the girls throat. She paused looking down at Desna and a small bit of realization hit her. " Oh... well, then you need to stay here and rest until we dismiss you."

Aden ate a quick dinner with his parents shortly before sundown and then set off towards the healing huts. Even though he had remembered his promise, his mother was sure not to let him forget. In fact, she insisted he bring Desna some leftovers as well, and he was forced to wait until the sun was all but gone behind the city's great wall before setting foot out the door while she wrapped up some fish.
The journey back up to the healing huts didn't take too long, but the sky barely had enough light to guide his way. Aden didn't like that twilight hour where it was too dark to see easily, but too bright for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. But regardless, he was up at the healing huts in a few minutes where the laterns were springing to life to keep the buildings lit.
Aden had only been in the huts a few moments before an idle healer approached him asking, "May I help you?"
"Um, yes," Aden said, caught slightly off-guard because he had been trying to look down the hall where Desna was being kept. "I wanted to stop by and check on Desna Makoktok. She was brought in earlier today... Kind of short, hair down to here..." He motioned to about his shoulders and the healer smiled slightly.
"Ah yes, she's in room two. Are you a member of her family?"
"Me? Well, no, no really, but I just wanted to-"
"Loved ones are allowed as well," the healer cut him off, her tone not condescending in the least. "I'll go see if she's awake. Please wait here."
Aden thought to say something to protest the implication in the healer's statement, but he let it go as she walked him to the door of Desna's room and then ducked inside.

Once Aden walked into the healing huts Pikatti lifted his head up and trotted after him right at his heels, it'd been a long time he'd been waiting in the lobby without being able to see his master, of course he'd tried to go see her but every time he was shooed out and left alone. It wasn't any fun, no matter how he growled or bared his teeth they always managed to get him back and eventually he gave up, impatiently sitting between benches trying to get some rest for lack of anything better to do. He whimpered at Aden sitting back on his hind legs his eyes sad and pathetic as some animals just seemed naturally acclimated to do. Besides it was past dinner time for him, he was worried, usually they were headed home by now and he had a nice fish in his stomach.
Desna on the other hand was starring up at the ceiling, the nurse who was talking to her had just left and she was feeling down. What if something worse happened to her? If her leg was broken or she got seriously hurt? She didn't have any family she could trust in Shai, no one she wanted to really include into her life. There was her father but he would make matters much worse, it scared her. It was a little startling to realize just how alone she'd become. And she might even loose the plants if she didn't go out to the shelf and make sure they were taken care of. The last time they were tended was the morning and she wasn't really thinking clearly then.
" Miss Makoktok?" Finally she was snapped out of it, her eyes wandering over to the healer and she sat up a little weakly, the girl came over and helped her settling some pillows behind her back and taking the damp cloth off of her head, " Someone's here to see you, are you feeling up to a visitor?" Desna was rather confused for a few seconds, in the already frazzled state she was in there was little surprised. " Yes.. I think..." The healer smoothed her hair out and sat back up with a smile before heading back to the door. " Let me go get him then." She nodded weakly and looked toward the door, it was a little worrysone, who would come see her?

Aden was quick to crouch down and greet Pikatti when the bear-dog wandered over to him. He imagined it must be hard on Desna's companion to be stuck waiting without anyone to watch over him. Aden patted Pikatti's head and flank and then broke off a piece of fish for him to eat. The healers had some food handy, but he wasn't sure if they would think to feed animals or not.
"She'll see you now," the healer called from the door of Desna's room, and Aden quickly stood up. He strode over with Pikatti on his heels and slipped through the doorway. The healer made an uncertain noise when Pikatti entered the room, but Aden was quick yo assure her, "I'll make sure he doesn't bother her." The healer nodded slightly and then stepped out of the room to allow them some privacy.
Aden turned to see Desna, whose room was dimly lit by a few oil lamps around the bed of furs. "Hey," he greeted her, seeing that she was at least awake, "Feeling any better?"
