Aden paused in his own retreat when Desna ordered him to wait and then darted out of the door ahead of him. He glanced around the greenhouse for a few moments, unsure of exactly what she was doing, but then decided to wait for her outside. He pulled aside the doorflap and stepped outside, just as Desna was coming back out of her house.
"What's this?" Aden asked, or started to ask, when Desna wrapped a light hug around his midsection. For a moment he accepted the gesture on thankfulness and managed to pat her on the side despite his hands being trapped y hers. Hopefully whatever was in the wrappings wasn't anything too expensive. He really didn't want to be paid for doing this favor.
"Thanks," Aden said when Desna broke off the hug and took a step back. He glanced down at the gift, but decided not to unwrap it right there. "And I will... Good bye." *he gave one more wave and then started back the way they'd come at a swift walk.
In his mind, Aden had long ago decided that he wouldn't be walking all the way back to the city. Desna might find it lazy, but Aden considered it foolish not to use the gifts one was given, and a proper application of bending could cut the travel time nearly in quarters. He just figured, judging by her reaction to him filling the pan, that he should wait until she went back inside.

Back inside her home Desna planted herself first in the arm chair closing her eyes trying to catch her own mind, giving her legs some rest and her mind some time to run through everything she was struggling with. Aden was such an odd boy, she didn't know what to do about it. She cared about him and it seemed like he cared about her but did that mean that it was anything more than friendship? She'd have to test those bonds.
All of this could just be her tired body affecting her mind making small things seem like much more than they really were, for now tugging off her hat and looking around familiar surrounding was enough for her. A soft smile came to her lips when a bleary eyed polar bear hound lumbered over to her, resting his head on her thigh. " Hey there..." She breathed gently letting her hand rest on his head, a soft guttural whimper came from the hound and Desna giggled tiredly.
" Time for bead huh?" Shakily getting to her feet Desna stripped from her parka and coat leaving them on the chair as she wandered into her room, the air was cold and despite shivering she managed to tug herself into bed, layers of furs keeping her insulated from the cold, she had no energy to light a fire in the fire pit so it would have to do. As she closed her eyes a large thump on the bed made her bury her head into the pillow but it didn't stop a wet tongue from attacking her ear.
" Pikaaatiii." Whined the girl for a moment before the polar bear dog settled down beside her body. Despite the annoyance he proved himself to be he was warm and curled up to Pikatti Desna slowly slipped off to sleep, at the very least she was home and that made all the difference.

About thirty seconds after saying his farewells, the young warrior glanced over his shoulder and saw that Desna was no longer watching. Aden then stop[ed briefly and took a moment to inspect the gift Desna had given him. He unwraveled the cloth and was pleasantly surprised to find it was just a helping of jerky. Something like this was a reasonable gift that he could accept without feeling like he'd burdened her with such payment.
He chanced a bite of the stuff and found it to be pretty tasty. A bit spicy, perhaps, but definitely more flavor than what he was used to. Aden re-wrapped the jerky and stuffed it into his pocket before clearing his throat and focusing his attention on getting home.
The young warrior positioned his feet about shoulder width apart, one behind the other, and he twisted his back foot sharply so that it was perpendicular to front one. The motion awoke the snow beneath him and it solidified into a sheet of ice. Aden crouched down low on his makeSHIFT iceboard and then pushed his hand behind him. His bending propelled the ice forward and in a matter of seconds he had accelerated to nearly a sprinting speed while he crouched low to keep his balance.
Such a method of travel was not entirely unpracticed, though he rarely had an opportunity to use it. Even so, Aden was regaining the feel of iceboarding as he went along, and in what seemed like no time at all he had followed his markers back to the city proper.
He still had a fair amount left to do that day, mainly helping his father at work. But at the very least he was assured Desna's safety, and that fact brought him peace for the day.
