"Ahhh I wonder what I should make for dinner?" Though a dark hair man as he walked down the streets with his fan.
His long carmine red hanfu was freshly washed as he sauntered gracefully. A few women turned to watch him walk down the market place shopping for fresh fish and fruit.
"Ooooh he's cute." one said, Ravi flashed them a smile. The girls giggled as he continued shop passing by the bakery.
"Ah Ravi? Getting some bread for Indra?" Ravi nodded and pointed at loaf of wheat. "Yes doing to the shopping for him again. He says that I should start earning more of my keep. Fah don't I pay rent and dance for him?" The baker laughed. "Oh poor boy. Say I have some news about Madhur. I'm sure you're interested." Ravi bought a lemon tart and nodded. "Oh what did Big Sissy do this time?" The baker laughed. "Rumor has it that her husband died in war...and she taking possession of all his property top it off ....she's having affair." Ravi didn't seem interested as he leaned on the counter nibbling on the tart. "Did Sati tell you this?" The baker paused and nodded. "Err yes.." Ravi smirkled and finished his tart. "You should know Tama, that Sati speaks flutenly in Bullsh*t and B*tch. Don't believe a word she says. Though Madhur having an affair is old news. She has been doing that kind crap since she was fourteen, old habits die hard." Tama sheepisly smiled and shrugged. "Well are you gonna be performing tonight?" Ravi giggled. "Oh yes we've highered a new musician to accopany Bai Wei and Una. Oy, looks like I have to teach the newbie how the routine works." Tama laughed and sighed, the young baker tilted his head. "Well I'll try to get work off early to see you tonight good luck though." Ravi turned to walk out of the bakery.
"Sure sure, I'll see you later!"

So this is the capital, Azar thought to himself as he walked down the streets. Only on a single occasion had he been there, so many years ago on a trip taken by his class. But now, after hitching a ride into the city with a wagon of tradesmen, he was there once again. The city was massive, tall buildings flaunting its status, and Azar could only look around in awe. He may have grown up in a city, but the port city of Hokage paled in comparison to the glory and splendor of Lun Yang.
But right now, Azar's utmost concern was to earn his stay in the place. If he would remain in the metropolis for even a few days, he couldn't survive simply by playing a song or two on the streets. He knew tea shops often employed musicians, so his first destination was such a place in search of entertainment. He still tried not to get his hopes up, since this large city probably had musicians and performers much greater than he. The thought brought a cross look to his face, but he would be fine as long as no one fanned the flames of his jealousy.
But something - or rather someone - sparked a different kind of flame. He caught Azar's eye as he sashayed out of a shop and into a street. Such elegance and grace, and a killer body even visible with a robe draped on his body. And that was only the view from behind. The women beside him soon walked away, but Azar was still awestruck. Such a man of beauty was he that the musician only wished to sneak a closer look - Even if the man wasn't fond of men. Adjusting the rope that held his sanxian's case to his back, he lumbered ahead. And in an inconspicuous manner, he walked past the pretty man and bumped his elbow into his side rather roughly.
Though somewhat uncharacteristic of Azar's typical cranky demeanor, he said; "Oh, sorry." Catching sight of the man's face, he stopped in his tracks. Unable to stop grinning, he continued; "You all right?"

Ravi was moving briskly to the fish monger to get some panfish for dinner, freshwater fish we're the cheapest and Indra and Gita wouldn't mind some pan seared sunfish or nice fresh water bass. Ooh with lemon and dillweed. Ravi was looking forward to the preformance and dinner when felt a bump.
"EEP!" Ravi's basket jerked dropping the fennel and lemons. Sighing he turned around to see what hit him.
"Oh, sorry. You all right?" The gray-eyed boy asked. Ravi blinked, he wasn't completely eye-catching but he had a sort of aura that was very warm and attractive. Ravi smiled brightly and picked up his lemons and fennel, good thing the break didn't drop. "Oh I am fine, normally I'm not this kluzly. But I suppose people have there off days. I hope you're all right?" Ravi asked looking at the gentleman he ran into. He was attractive, Soft eyes, and round. He looked a little plain, but he was still rather cute to Ravi. There was something eye-catching about him.
"You're a musican I see? Well you're in luck, you look new." Ravi fanned himself smiling. His bright catty eyes sparkled with amusment. "I know a place you can get work if you are not hired by anyone. Indra is looking for Musicans. He hired one recently but he is still looking for someone that good with strings. If you are interested, you can head down to the Lovely Lotus. It large building with a red room and sign with pink loutuses on it. Ask for Indra if you need a job. If not, they have THE BEST Ginger and Plum tea you ever had. And oh their honey biscutes are not that bad either." Ravi rambled on as he fanned himself he was defently attracted to him. However flirting harmlessly was one thing. Mutual attraction was something else.
"Oh It seems I lost my manners, My name is Ravi." He introduces showing the young man his manicured hand.

Azar was almost smitten as he gazed into the fellow's eyes. He didn't care that the man before him gushed so much, and the girlish mannerisms and dialect observed only convinced Azar of the man's sexuality. Though one could never be too sure. The musician had seen a self-indulgent nobleman or two act that way, but he was fairly certain this man wasn't nobility. But still, if this man Ravi wasn't gay, he certainly wasn't aiming to convince people otherwise.
After divulging very helpful advice, Ravi soon extended a hand to Azar, allowing well-kempt fingernails and smooth skin to be seen. The husky young man was unfamiliar with the situation, since he'd only greeted women in such a manner, but he handled it in a way he saw fit. He shook Ravi's hand firmly, but not with as much pressure as he would with a more masculine man.
"My name's Azar," he said. The grin hadn't faded from his face, though its size had fluctuated throughout the conversation. It would mostly grow in width whenever he locked eyes with Ravi, but that cherubic smile never ceased to exist. "And thanks for telling me everything. I'm new here in the city and I need a place to stay."
Scratching the back of his head, fingers running through his short hair, his fondest wish was to utter the next words. But it would be so hard. After a drawn-out period of silence, staring at the floor with his hand on the back of his head, Azar mustered up enough boldness to ask. "I like the sound of this Lovely Lotus place. If you're headed there, mind if I tag along?"

Fanning himself he shook Azar's hand smiling. He seemed to really like this man, and no doubt about it, Azar seemed quiet taken with him as well.
"I like the sound of this Lovely Lotus place. If you're headed there, mind if I tag along?"
Ravi nodded and point down the street. "It's this way, Indra would love to help you. I work there myself." He winked as he continued down the road with Azar. "You'll see what I'll do this evening." As the walked down the road a few girls giggled at Ravi and waved, he didn't pay any attention to them they finally reach the red roofed building Ravi crook his finger and beckoned Azar to come inside.
"Indra your erran boy is back, I do have the bread you wanted." The sound of heavy boots and creaking floors replied as a large man appeared with narrow hazel eyes and salt and pepper hair walked over to the lithe dancer and the pudgey musican. His deep rumbly voice resonated around the cafe. "Ah good, though we just ran out of cheese, I'll have Una get it though." He turned to look at Azar with an eyebrow lift he turned to Ravi again. "Who is this Rav?" Ravi coughed and handed Una a small spritely woman the groceries when he introduced Azar.
"This Azar, we ran into each other down the street. He's new in Lun Yang and needs a job, I told him you're still looking for musicans, he can play." Ravi explained looking at his employer. Indra scratched his long beard before replying. 'Well, I don't know if I should praise Agni or what...turns out the pipa player that I hired yesterday, ran out on us. He took a boat and headed to Hokage, so we do need another string musican to accompany Bai Wei and Sham-sham." Ravi frowned. "What a prick! Good thing we didn't pay him. Anyway what do you think Indy?" Indra leaned on the counter wearing a dirty apron
"Well Azar, why don't you tell me about yourself? Where are you from how long have you been playing and are you any good at it? That sort of stuff, Ravi seems impressed with you. Which is saying something, since Ravi is never impressed with anyone."

Azar followed closely behind when Ravi led him away, but he felt like his heart skipped a beat when the man winked at him. An interesting hint, but the long-haired fellow's lack of interest in the passing girls also intrigued the musician. It seemed like a lot of the puzzle was piecing together, but Azar knew that only disappointment would result if the man were misleading him. While his powers of discernment weren't altogether poor, Azar did make a few unfair assumptions regarding sexuality at certain times in his life. He would try and avoid any insinuations until more evidence was presented. After all, he didn't feel like being slapped by Ravi.
Led through the streets by the garrulous Ravi, the two soon reached their destination. They were greeted by a man, apparently the owner of the place, and introductions were made as explanations were given. Quite a stroke of luck it was for the musician, since it seemed he could be employed at the place right away. Nodding, he stroked his chin in consideration. It seemed to be the best solution to his current state, and if most of the employees were like Ravi, it meant there would be plenty of eye candy. But his train of thought was soon cut short.
Asked questions directly, he peered straight at the man speaking. But as he was about to take out his instrument and start playing, he heard something that caught his attention further. "Impressed with me? How?"
With a confused look, he held his hand to his chest. He didn't want to seem overly surprised, so he tried to stray a bit from the conversation. "Er, yeah. I kind of know what you mean," he said, looking back at Ravi. "A few pretty girls walked by, and I saw him ignore them outright."
Despite his words, he really couldn't care less about those girls. He didn't think they were pretty, nor would he have acknowledged them were it not for his near-constant appraisal of Ravi's actions. But Ravi's lack of interest in the opposite gender happened to catch Azar's eye. Then, with rough gestures and his warm gray eyes widened for emphasis, he said in a humorous tone; "They were giggling and everything!"

Indra watched Azar remove his saxian to play when he asked an importaint question
"Impressed with me? How?" Indra was about to anwser when he continued. "I saw a few pretty girls walk by, and I saw him ignore them outright. They where giggling and everything
Indra smirked but went behind the counter to prepare for this evening. Ravi had small smile as well and decided an explination was in order. Grabbing an apple Ravi crunching into it and explained a bit.
"Most of the girls know me for my work. I'm a sword dancer here. I've been dancing here for mostly...seven years. So I am well known. But people don't impressed me much." Ravi said non-chalant as he ate the apple, golden eyes flashed a look at Azar.
"I find women to be flightly, dramatic and overly emotional creatures. So much like me. It feels like I am talking to a clone when one of many fans ask for my autograph. Men are confrontational, arrogant and stubborn. They see me walking and they pass judgement." With slight accent Ravi continued. "Hey F*ag get a real job instead of sucking c*ck!" Ravi sighed and finished apple as he spoke in his normal voice.
"Either way, I do enjoy people. But after awhile...they bore me. However. You Azar...don't. There is something about you that I like. Don't know what though. Perhaps when you play I will know."

Holding the long neck of his instrument at his side, he sat nearby Ravi and listened to his explanation. The man really explained a lot about his profession, as well as himself. Needless to say, Azar had already concluded that Ravi liked to talk. It was somewhat unsettling for him, considering his penchant for dominating a conversation, but he let it slide at the moment. There was so much that he needed to know, and the dancer was doing such a good job explaining.
An unfamiliar insult arose in Ravi's spiteful impersonation. He knew what it meant, but he had rarely heard it in his life - Perhaps due to his own discretion in disclosing his sexuality. Soon followed another quip that came as little surprise to Azar, but with as little shock it presented, the musician now felt a certain excitement burn in his soul. Ravi could perhaps be one of the few whom Azar told his utmost secret.
Blushing lightly, his eyes drifted from Ravi at the compliment. He didn't know if the dancer was sincere, but he deeply hoped he was. Ravi did seem to have a definite candor about him, so it seemed unlikely he would say some backhanded remark to lead someone astray.
With a nod of his head, Azar soon rose his sanxian to the proper position. He took a breath and started playing. Gray eyes half-lidded, peering down at his instrument, his fingers glided across the strings. It was a gentle tune, one which patrons of the locale could enjoy over a cup of tea. It would rouse neither excitement or sorrow, but rather a sense of serenity. At the same time, Azar's placid face showed the same emotion he tried to convey - Despite the mild anxiety caused by knowing just what the tune could win him.

Ravi watch the expressions on Azar's face as he told his tale, as the young man took up his saxian and play a soft tune on it . Ravi lisent to the melody, reading the emotion of the song.
It was soft, and pleasent tune. But it lack a spirit. It wasn't moving or potent. Still, it was a pretty tune, and Ravi did like it. So did Indra humming the beat as he cleaned counters.
Indra nodded to Ravi, the dancer knew what that ment. Indra liked him and he was hired. Smiling Ravi walked beside Azar and nodded at him showing him a thumbs up. Indra accepted him as employee.
He hoped Azar the signal as he started spontanously swaying to the beat, it was captivating, he couldn't help it, he wanted to dance. It was too slow for a real dance but it had a good rhythm.
"It's nice..very nice, I hope you caught the gesture..Indra will hire you." Ravi continued to sway, as soon as this was done he had to get ready for tonight

"All right, thanks," Azar said calmly, after noting Ravi's positive gesture. He was relieved to have found a job so soon after arriving at the capital. And the dancer himself seemed to enjoy the song, but his slow, swinging movements to the melody made Azar think the man was expecting something more lively. Azar understood. In the back of his mind, he figured he should have picked a more poignent tune, but he was grateful the song he played had earned him employment. Ceasing his tune, he looked over at Ravi with the sanxian still in his arms. Throwing caution to the wind, the musician did something rather impulsive.
He winked at Ravi.
Immediately after, since he was sure Ravi saw him, he raised his fingers to the instrument once more. He then started to play quickly, sending forth a quick and ardent tune. Surely, one could see his excitement, even though his eyes were still peering at the strings of his sanxian. He liked Ravi, and showed his first sign of affection. Azar just hoped the dancer wouldn't take it the wrong way.

As Azar was finished with his starting tune Indra nodded. "Ravi am I gonna help Gita with dinner tonight, and Una too." Indra left leaving Ravi with Azar.
Then Azar wink at Ravi, the young dancer was startled at first. A wink? Why? Then Azar played a faster tune, it upbeat and spirited energy was excitally what Ravi wanted. It had his spirit in those notes. It wasn't plain or ordinary it was exciting. And like a flame Ravi simple swaying became something more.
"Ooooh don't stop I need to warm up." Ravi askes as he took off his outer robe leaving him in a tunic and trousers. He stepped to the beat, stomp, stomp, spin. Ravi was using his favorite pattern moving in graceful circle, Ravi let the music possess him.
Swaying more of his hips he hoped Azar will watch him and like what he sees. Ravi hoped as well that Azar not only like the dance, but he as well. Moving faster the pattern was predicable so to change the pattern he did a flip, and continued the dance. Tire he stopped laughed.
"Oh that was amazing, play like that you would have stolen my heart in no time...Now I need to get read for tonight I will see you later." Blowing a kiss Ravi hurried to his room.
"Bai Wei will show you yours."

Azar kept the same air of consciousness as he always did while playing, not quite losing himself in the song. That way, he could take note of who was watching him. And that he did. He kept stealing glances at Ravi as he danced, finding great allure in the man's elegant movements, so agile and limber. Azar never had an affinity for dance, or most things physical. His skills lay more toward creativity rather than athletic prowess. And for this reason, Azar would always carry a sort of jealously toward people whose physical skills were greater than his own. But he was still prone to envy of any sort whatsoever. Ravi was different, though, since Azar admired his fluent mastery of dance.
It all came to an end soon enough. Ravi left, and Azar was led to his room by a man named Bai Wei. It felt nice to have his own room, after a month or so of living on the road. At least with a modicum of comfort and luxury, the husky musician wouldn't complain as often as before. If only that were the case. It would likely turn out that Azar would disregard anything worth appreciating, and go on living by his own decadent path. But for now, he nodded to Bai Wei and went into his room. He lowered his traveling sack and sanxian case onto the floor, and let out a sigh as he sat on the bed's edge. Things happened so quickly, but at least things went favorably. He figured sneaking in a quick nap would cause no harm. Thus, he took off his vest, robe, and boots, left only in his trousers, and curled up on the bed. Closing his eyes, thoughts of Ravi danced through his mind.

Ravi was in his room. Strangly enought Azar was next door. Still it didn't bother him that he slept next door, in fact it was convenient.
Bai Wei was on his bed talking to him about one of his conquests while Ravi brushed his hair and got ready for tonight.
"...So Ming Lei told, Yuba who is courting Lu Xung, that I slep with that slut Jei-Su. amd I'm like: B*tch, what have you been drinking? I don't screw gutter trash. So Ming Lei to me that Lu Xang has been cheating on Yuba with some guy...Ummm....Garo? I think his name was?" Babbled Bai as Ravi finshed is outfit and grabbed his swords. He dabbed some deozier as he responded to the gossip.
"First of Bai, It's Gen Ru, and Lu has been seening him for aeons. Yuba is just a front and she knows that. Ming has the hots for Lu and she's jealous and yeah Jei is gutter trash. But you'll ride her tight a*ss five ways from Sunday." Bai laughed as Ravi walked over and knocked Azar's door.
"Azar if you are a wake, I'm gonna be downstairs. I'm working tonight, if you want to watch. Indra most likely would have you start tommorrow." And Ravi headed downstairs.

Jolted from his slumber and the sensual images that populated his mind, Azar's eyes sprung open when someone knocked on his door. Ravi's voice carried through the door, inviting Azar to watch him dance. Blinking several times, he crawled over on his bed and sat on the edge. It was definitely an tempting idea, and Azar didn't think twice before capitalizing on the offer.
Sliding on his salmon-colored robe, but not the vest he usually wore over it, he tied it around his waist with the usual Persian red rope before adding his boots. Instead of tucking them in at the cuffs, he let them hang down near his ankles, over the mouths of his boots. He felt his hair, making sure it wasn't terribly messed-up, then made his way out the door and into the hallway.
Descending the stairs, he noted Ravi standing nearby. It was certainly an interesting costume he wore, but Azar wasn't complaining about the view it gave. Truthfully, due to Ravi's enticing outfit, he anticipated the performance even more so. He didn't hesitate in voicing his curiosity, either. Standing on the bottom step and leaning on the stair rail, he looked straight at the scantily-clad dancer; "So, when does the show start?"

"So, when does the show start?"
"In a little bit, Una plays flute, Sham-Sham is shamiusen, Bai Wei plays pipa and Indra is percisson, Keep that in mine when you play with them tommarrow," Ravi's sun tattoo was visable and it was his trade mark as he walked on to stage.
Indra introduce Ravi, to the crown that was drinking tea.
"I Present you! The Solar Blade! Raaavi!" The crowd clapped. A few his fangirls shrieked in excitment.
Indra stared the beat. Clak clak clak, Bai Wei came in along with mello Sham-Sham, Ravi started the dance. His feet moving to the wild beat. Indra's drums powered the song, whilst the strings came it was giving it soul. And then Una's flute rang out in airy quickness. Ravi was swinging his blades, the crowd was clapping to the beat. One man spoke out.
"Hey he's doing the Ocean Tide.." Ravi was body was rocking to and fro to the beat, stomping in time as he flipped and danced with the daos. Vest flapping on his back starting to stick with the sweat, So did the baggy harem pants. The bangles he wore jangle to the beat as well. He fell into the Phoenix Fire routine flipping and jumping to the music as well. He looked to the crowd, where was Azar was he watching? Did he like at he see? Did he like him?
Moving almost possessed by the music he continued the heated dances he finished with a finale, a line of backflips followed by the complete splits. The crowd clapped, applauding Ravi's preformance the girls shreiked and screamed for an encore. But Ravi was beat..and thirsty, He looked for Azar and beckond him to follow.
He went behind stage and said. "Do you like my preformace?"
