Azar was rather glad to have company, especially from one as special to him as Ravi. Even though he'd only known him for little more than a day, he had already concluded that the dancer would be one he could really get along with. However, infatuation had blinded him from thinking Ravi could show any traits that he didn't like. Ah, if that were to be rudely realized, then things between them would never be the same.
But that didn't stop anything at that point. As he gazed at Ravi while soaking in the hot water, he caught sight of the tattoo emblazoned his stomach. Vaguely interested, Azar hadn't pegged Ravi to be the sort to get a tattoo. He know it would take a lot for him to get one himself, considering how one actually obtained tattoos. Not being one to want needles searing his skin, he couldn't help but inquire of Ravi. That, and one other thing that had escaped his concern earlier.
"So, other than my new nickname, what's with the tattoo?"

" So, other than my new nickname, what's with the tattoo?"
As Azar asked that Ravi was almost asleep in the bath when he was startled.
"Oh sorry I nearly dozed off. It's just been a long day. Um well as for the nickname, I'm I sorry ummm if you don't like I'll stop. The tattoo, well it's sorta of a funny story. I was born on the summer soltice so I was thought to be a firebender that was the first disappointment, the second was that I didn't become a warrior like my dad wanted and finally third was because I was queer, in all I was nothing more then a massive waste of skin. I suppose this was rebellion on my father, and more of proof to show my father I was tough I guess, he was impressed that I got one...but think it wold be more manly if it was on my shoulder...well It was only thing he liked about me was I could tolerate pain."

Azar's mind may have drifted in and out of Ravi's tale, but he got the general idea. It seemed that Ravi was a failure in his father's eyes, and Azar could understand. After all, in his mind, most of the world was against men who were fond of other men. Nice people like Indra and Gita were not, which was somewhat of a relief, but Azar was still convinced that the world was unkind toward his type. He could only wonder what his own father, rest his soul, and others in his family would think if his secret were revealed.
Looking once more at Ravi's slender abdomen and the tattoo upon it, Azar chuckled and put his hansd behind his head. Amazingly calm for discussing such a thing, he looked up at the ceiling with half-lidded eyes. "My father died when I was three. I wonder if I'd be a disappointment to him if he were still alive."

"My father died when I was three. I wonder if I'd be a disappointment to him if he were still alive."
Ravi heard the calm almost dour tone of Azar's statement. Ravi could only imagine what it would be like to loose a parent. Chetan and Dipali were old, but alive. Even grandparents now, Ravi was thankful that he still had his family, dysfuntional and awkward as it was. He...had to admit to himself that he did love Chetan, afterall he was completely heartbroken that night when he was kicked out. Still Ravi desprately wanted to live his own life. Without the approval his parents.
"I think you should be happy that you don't see yourself as a disappointment Azar. After all I am sure you're happy playing the saxian just as I am happy dancing. If we're happy, why should other people obersvations matter? Though I am sorry to hear that your father died so young. .... But I sorta understand I guess. I was never close to mine." Ravi almost lamanted, he was hurt, but he didn't dwelled on it. He was living his life, Chetan was living his.
"I don't think I'm a dissappointment, afterall I get to live my dream everyday."

"Good point," muttered Azar, his words disappearing into quiet and breathy moan. Not that there was anything wrong with the conversation, but Azar was simply not sure what else to say. Anything more and he may have sunk into a deep and edgy mood. Leaning back, he started to realize his time in the bath shouldn't go on much longer, despite how relaxing it had been. It served its purpose well, but he figured the tea house owners wouldn't be too happy if Azar spent all his time lounging around in the bath. Grumbling softly, he slid out of the tub and lumbered over to his attire strewn over a small wooden chest.
"So, the first night. Any secrets I should know? I figured you'd be best to ask," Azar said after he pulled up his pants, but before he put on his hanfu. He was confident in his ability to play alongside other musicians, but he knew he had to focus on his music and not Ravi. It would be difficult, but not impossible.

Watching him get out, Rav lounged a little long, eyes half lidded, the sword dancer watched with interest as Azar got dressed. He asked a question,
"So, the first night. Any secrets I should know? I figured you'd be best to ask," Ravi walked over and got out of the tub himself. Water running down his body. He dried himself off as he answered Azar's question.
"Bai-wei, likes solos, so take mind if everyone stops and Bai-wei just plays. It's just him trying to show off." Ravi got dressed and walked out to the bathhouse.
Time past and Ravi was in his room, it was flourish of inspiration and maybe someting else. But whatever the case. Ravi decided that his female soul needed to come out and play.
In a gown and his hair stlyed up and was wearing make up. He was a diffrent person. He was Malati, walking down stairs he sat at a booth quietly. He looked very diffrent so it wasn't a suprise that no one reconised him.

The performance that night, the instrumental piece played by the quintet went off splendidly, even with their newest member. With each song played, Azar would take the brief intermissions to search the crowd for one person alone. Having learned that Ravi was in the audience, watching and listening, he viewed each and every song as tribute to his beloved. He truly played his heart out, with every intention of wooing Ravi. True, things between them couldn't get any hotter than they did on the previous night, but Azar's tendency to show off spoke differently on the matter - and it's not like Azar and Ravi wouldn't try to go any further.
When it ended, Azar stayed around for only a few seconds of applause. Normally one to soak in any and all praise, the sanxian player bounded over into the audience and moved around each table. But it was to no avail. Where was Ravi? What did he think? Was he even watching? Rubbing his sweaty forehead, Azar took a deep breath. He could only hope that Ravi found him soon.

Ravi enjoyed the music listening to it was calming drinking tea he blended in well, It felt weird hiding from Azar, but Ravi should know that last night was, one night. Ravi doubted that Azar would willing put up with him. Perhaps this was his way of taking off the mask and showing himself to Azar without illusions.
Seeing Azar look for him in the crowd was a tad heartbreaking. He was looking for Ravi not Malati. Ravi wasn't here unfortunatly. In his feminine guise he got up to approuch Azar smiling demurly, hiding his face from the crowd with his fan he congratuated Azar.
"You did very well I just wanted to tell you that." Ravi sounded diffrent. He fanned lightly as he tilted his head. Indra notice them he didn't mind Ravi's crossdressing moments nobody could tell anyway. Indra let him do it anyway occionally he played along. But tonight he just observed.
Ravi was hesitent to indroduce himself to Azar, but since he was now Malati he might as well. "I'm Malati I come around here often.

It was fairly confusing, but Azar knew he would have to put up with those sorts of people every now and then. Being greeted and admired by some random female, at whom he cast a glance for no more than a second, he was intent on finding Ravi. With so little else on his mind, his response was very abrupt and insincere. "Yeah...that's great, thanks. Always nice to have fans."
As he looked around even more, he took a few steps around the woman in search for Ravi. But it soon dawned on him. If this 'Malati' person came there often, perhaps she knew where Ravi could be found. She might have even been an acquaintance of his. Scratching his head, Azar looked at the woman whose face was covered by a fan. Noticing for a brief moment that she was unusually tall for a woman, he quickly shrugged it off and asked. "Do you know Ravi? I'm trying to find him"

Azar didn't bother to give him eye contact, Ravi didn't seem to mind it after all Azar was looking for tall, pale man not a tall pale woman. The least than ethusicastic response also didn't bother him after all. He was Malati and didn't mind being pushed to aside.
"Do you know Ravi? I'm trying to find him" Azar asked. Ravi blinked and fanned his face, moment of truth. He close his fan and repiled. "I think he turned in early, I was told by Indra that Ravi was too tired and he fell asleep." Looking at Azar, he hope would turn around and look at him back reconize him. "Anyway I am going to go home now. If you want to find him look in his room." Ravi patted Azar's shoulder and headed away from him and snuck up stairs.
I felt weird to lie to him but still, it wasn't like Azar reconized him. Walking into his room he took out his hair pins, and began washing off the make up. Azar will be up here soon

Azar couldn't help but think that woman was strange. She apparently knew Indra and Ravi, and was probably familiar with the rest of the staff, but something was amiss. After showing herself one to admire Azar's music, her sudden departure left Azar confused. He was certain she would stay around and try to chat him up, but he wasn't disappointed when she left. The words of admiration would have been nice, but Azar was set on one task alone.
After returning but a slight wave to the departing Malati, Azar made his way toward the stairs leading up to his room. He was all set to enjoy the night, not tired at all after his performance, but he wanted to spend it with Ravi. Azar could hear the echoes of a shutting door from the base of the stairs, after which he rushed to the upper level of the building. Then, after a brief pause and a short sigh, he knocked on Ravi's door. But since he figured he knew Ravi well enough, he opened the door and peered in anyway. "Ravi? You there?"

Ravi was finishing wiping his make up. In the middle of "trasforming" back to Ravi. His voice deeped as he was getting out of the yukata he was wearing.
"I'm indecent Azar." Ravi call out as he folded the yukata away, and was wipping off the rouge on his lips. He hoped Azar didn't catch him. But he was prepared anyway. If this means severing everything because Azar couldn't handle Ravi's duality then so be it. Eventhough it would cause great pain for Ravi. Heartbreak was a good friend to Ravi.
"I'm sorry I wasn't their listing, I was just so tired from work." He lied not really well. But it wasn't obvious. He sat on his bed. He was still half dress his trousers and tunic. He felt a edge of guilt, he didn't know if it was obvious that he was Malati or not..until he realised he still had the other hair pins in...Sighing he took them out. put them on his bedside table.
With a sigh...he asked. "Figured it out yet." He winced as his fan was also on the table

Hearing Ravi's voice, his words, Azar was disappointed. He had wanted Ravi to see his first performance, but matters were completely rearranged when he caught sight of his lover. Observing the man removing hair pins, placing them by a familiar fan, Ravi's masquerade became obvious. Azar scowled. His only answer, other than blinking his eyes a few times, was a moment of silence. He had not expected Malati and Ravi to be the same person, but now that he had found out, he felt his heart sunk. Truthfully, he didn't know what to think.
In the doorway, his mouth hung open for a few seconds as he stared. Ravi did make a convincing woman, and Azar was fairly amused with the whole new side shown. His expression suddenly shifted to one more jovial, he started to chuckle at the man. "Oh yeah. You bet I did. You really had me fooled."
But now he was confused. Was Ravi entirely serious, or had he dressed as a woman just for laughs? Having seen Ravi demonstrate himself as humorous and lighthearted person, he guessed the latter, though he was still uncertain. "Nice get-up. You do that often?"

Ravi sat on the bed not looking at Azar feeling more and more guilty..
"Oh yeah. You bet I did. You really had me fooled. Nice get-up. You do that often?"
Seeing Azar taking it so well help Ravi stop grumping about it. Still it annoyed him that Azar saw it as a joke. Still he went with it, laughing he nodded.
"Oh yeah I did that occassionally, sorry about it.." Ravi put on a smile and tried to play it up. "Sorry about that heh." He changed the subject, and did his hair up in it's signature style.
"So what do you want to do tonight, I'm not working tonight, should we call it night though?" Ravi said calmly as he walked up to close his jars and put them away. He hummed lightly of the tune that Azar played. He paused and turned around.
"I was impressed again tonight I never saw such passion as I did tonight, You played so well, I can't help but feel you were playing for me." Ravi insinuated as he leaned on wall. He looked Azar in the eye.
please don't break my heart

Gazing into Ravi's eyes, the windows of his soul, Azar couldn't help but sense that something was wrong. Maybe it was more his desire to be with Ravi, a warm and beautiful body to have and to hold, but he definitely felt a bond like never before. And even though he couldn't tell what was amiss, he didn't want to lose that special feeling. Azar usually wasn't one to keep other people's interests in mind, but he could feel that Ravi was different. Though the fact that Azar still had a childish infatuation toward Ravi was entirely overlooked. But at that point, the next words to escape Azar's lips were sincere. He hoped they would heal all wounds, making everything all right. "You're right. I was."
But however much Ravi hinted against intimacy, Azar had other ideas. Standing from the bed and walking over to the slender and long-haired man, he wrapped his arms around Ravi's waist. "But the night is young. I wanted to spend it with you, my love. How about it?"
