This thread will be the discussion area for the upcoming RPG including myself, Chamir/Dian Tun, Ryota, and Mao. As it stands, our latest RPG, On the Way to Ba Sing Se has ended with the Northern War Party plus a few Southern warriors heading back toward the North Pole with a Fire Nation attack force on their heels.
As it is, I guess this thread will allow us to go into detail about the important plot points, specific strategies used, and possibly even recruit a few more characters into the fun.

Character Roster[/i] [/b] (Fire Nation)[li]Dian [/li][li]Mao Away Team (Water Tribe returners)[/li][li]Aden [/li][li]Chamir [/li][li]Ryota Home Team (Water Tribe homeguard) [/li][li]Nokoseuhbholke [/li][li]Saghani The Crowd (Water Tribe citizenry)[/li][li]Ebele [/li][li]Kaiapo [/li][li]Nati [/li][li]Nakamura [/li][li]Taartoq [/li][li]Ukaleq [/li][/ul] Fire Navy Fleet Roster[/i] - 6 Corvettes: x1 catapult
(reference: Zuko's ship)
- 3 Frigates: x4 trebuchet
(reference: The Siege of the North (part 1))
- 3 Destroyers: x6 trebuchet
(reference: Avatar Roku: Winter Solstice (part 2))
- 5 Transport barges: no siege artillery
(reference: Imprisoned)
- 12 War balloons: 2 per transport barge, remaining two on destroyer/capital ship/Dian's ship
(reference: The Northern Air Temple)
So with that taken care of and up for revisement... Once we get settled on getting off the ground, how will the posting order go? Which group goes first followed by which? Helping to keep the storyline and sub-plots consistent. Should a registry/roster of Dian's entire fleet and war balloon complement be drawn up? Should Muqali/Saghani be given a transcript concerning the matter of defense against the war balloon parties? EDIT 1:Added in the size and shape of Fire Nation Fleet for reference. along with episode references of their general appearance. EDIT 2: Added Nati into crowd section. Welcome aboard. =] EDIT 3: Nakamura and Taartoq in crowd. EDIT 4: Ebele, Ukaleq and Kaiapo join the party.

Okay, for the base strategy here, I'm a supporter of the majority of the battle taking place at sea, since that might actually lead to a water tribe victory, but at the same time allow for the balloons to slip by and partially complete their mission, which I believe is the plan.
In terms of characters, things would probably be easier if the two dhows and the Visiting Team are assimilated into the unit Saghani is in for the sake of keeping things interesting and interacting more.
Those are just my suggestions, though. Take em or leave em.

Somewhere in the thread probably after the palace gets destroyed Mao will get thrown of the balloon some way or another and crash into Taartoq's house. Then Taartoq will fight an injured Mao and Mao will be defeated and possibly imprisoned at the end of the thread.

Heh, that would be amusing... Perhaps Mao could even be forced to work in repairing or reverse engineering some of the warships, balloons, or various other machines left behind from the attack?
As for Aden, I suppose he'll have a brief chance to reunite with his parents. Other than that, he'll be spending most of his time helping out with the fighting.
Hissun's involvement is up in the air. I created him with the impression he was a fairly high-ranking officer; one of a few Admiral-equivalent men who controlled the deployment of the Water Tribe's warriors. If Saghani's going to be in charge of a division or something, he'd either be working with, under, or parallel to Hissun. However, I wouldn't care too much if Aden and the others were reassigned to a different unit to be in more direct contact with Saghani.

So... will Hotaru and any others be appearing then even as cameo guests? >.>
And one of the things Aden and I have discussed before is what to do with Mao near the end of things. And I guess that's one possible solution. XD
Though it does beg one to wonder how he'll ever get back to the Earth Kingdom, at least, once he's taken prisoner.
*ponders*
But I guess the aftermath can be dealt with later. Though the how to combine all the members for the Home and Away groups into one force is still up for grabs. Unless some sort of arrangement of pairing of the Ryota and Chamir with Saghani and Aden with Nokose to stage two sepearate attacks or something. That's just one idea.

To get back home Mao could steal one of the war balloons he fixes, it probably wouldn't get him to far but I am sure he could come up with some way to keep it boyant, then he can float around and end up wherever.
edit: Or he could get away on theballoon and get an abandoned fire nation vessle running

Possible synopsis as to the start of the thread: (debatable and subject to change)
Events starting outside the city walls, in the open sea and maybe around the field of icebergs used as a defensive measure. Sometime in the day, maybe morning or afternoon, the Fire Navy is engaging the patrol boats that have sally forth against them (maybe under orders/advisement of Saghani and his benefactors). While the Fire Navy is attempting to get as close to the city as they can while establishing their own defensive position to camp outside the city, launching salvo after salvo while using firebenders and crossbows to maybe pick them off from above. At the same time the dhows carrying Aden, Chamir and Ryota sail on the edges of the fighting and towards the city itself. Here they'll be greeted by Saghani (among possible others). After that the initial fighting may come to a close and both side begin to dig in for a standoff/new siege.
So how does this work for everyone?

Sounds good. I think I'll start Saghani (under the command of his superior, Injuquaq) out with the patrol that's engaging the Fire Navy before being forced to fall back to the city either from a lack of reinforcements, the unveiling of the war balloons, or something else, shortly after the dhows have arrived on the scene.
This would probably mean I would be posting first, so just let me know when we're ready and I'll get this bad boy going. Unless, of course, there are any objections.

Nakamura isn't done being on trial, but as soon as he is, he's free to do whatever.... unless he's in prison. XD
