Kavik morning started like everyother. He woke up late again, tied up in his furs. Kokomi was the one to wake him today. "Get up Fish Head! You're gonna be late..infact you are." Kavik jerked out of bed. "GAH! No not again." The Water Tribe teen was tangled in his furs again and tried to get himself untangled and dressed before he would get himself in more trouble then he was already in.
Dressed and out the door he headed for class on his gliders. Swerved left barely missing a baker and canal. "Why am I always late? Gah...the gods really hate me" He twisted and slided downhill to a crossroad. "Left, always left..." He finally reached the Master Pakku's class. "You're late." said the calous bender matter-factly. Kavik bowed. "My apologies." He searched the class for a familar face..some one he can sit next to for lessons.

Hoji sighed and shook his head, putting his hand up to his head sadly. Class had barely even started and already Kavik had gotten on Pakku’s bad side. It wasn’t a big deal for Hoji to be late to class, he was the generations golden boy, one of the most promising benders of his time, with a sharpened tounge and an attitude to match. He glanced and the other boy and jerked his head swiftly, indicating that Kavik should take a seat on the bare patch of hard ice next to him.
Hoji and Kavik had recently become friends and as the elder boys breath crystallized in front of him he thought about the unlikely pair that they had become. He, the snobby, upright, man of the house, and Kavik, the unruly, happy-go-lucky boy who was always up to mischief, even when he didn’t mean to be. Biting back a small smile he imagined what Pakku might be thinking about this whole thing. He smirked. Making friends was not easy for Hoji, strange that he should become close to Kavik.
The waterbender shrugged his shoulders, adjusting his broad shoulders inside his unfamiliar parka, a garment he didn’t normally wear. He frowned. Hoji hated wearing his blue-dyed fur. It was so itchy.

Kavik sat down to Hoji finnally finding the young bender's face. Kavik was very unlike the young waterbender boy he recently befriended. Kavik was loud bositerious and engeritic. He was also humble and had the attention span of a koi fish.
Still, all things need balance, Hoji was calm reserved and focused unlike the turbulent boy who was still panting from nearly getting into huge trouble again.
Pakku began class with a few warm up exerises and then some practice on yesterday's lesson on mist clouds and evasion tecqucies. Kavik kept turning the water he bended into the air into rain instead of cool, elusive mist. Pakku shook his head "Child! It amazes that you haven't drop out of the class like that ridicoulous excuse for your father!" The words stung Kavik like an piece of ice. "You're sister is better and she is woman!" Kavik bit his lower lip, he didn't need this to be compared to every one in his family. Shona was never a good bender himself and resorted to be a fisherman and his sister is hundred times better than he'll ever be. Kavik wish that he's disappear and never bother anyone again. With not even thinking on it, Kavik lifted his right arm and followed with his left, lifted all the water on the ground flinging it into the air and vaporising it into a thick cool cold of mist.
"Good, some progress at least." Pakku said as he non chalantly left Kavik unawears in his mist cloud. Kavik blinked his deep blue eyes. "I did it?" The young teen said befuddle by his bending. "Hoji? Are you there?" Kavik was a little confused. "Did I do this?" He asked pointing to his mist cloud.

The boy nodded at Kavik and then turned his attention back to Pakku. Today’s lesson was an exercise in changing the phases of Water, something slightly more difficult than the average bending. He watched Pakku’s movements carefully and then breathed deeply, quickly moving through the actions. He smirked as a fine layer of mist descended onto his parka, soaking him to the bone. His face narrowed slightly as he bended the water out of his clothes. Another reason he hated wearing parka’s.
Hoji looked over to see how Kavik was doing and rolled his eyes at the younger boy. He really should try harder, even if his talent was, well, still largely undiscovered.
As he watched Kavik suddenly bended the water nonchalantly as if he could do it all along. Hoji raised an eyebrow appreciatevely then let out a breath of displeasure once he realized that it had just been an accident.
"No Kavik, the turtle-seals made the mist." he said sarcastically still bending water out of his parka. "Of course you did it."

Kavik was quite confused until he heard the Hoji's remark. "No Kavik, the turtle-seals made the mist." Kavik grunted something unaudible, and then he replied in the same sarcastic tone. "Of course the turtle-seals made the mist. After all why would a child with no bending talent make this mist." Kavik concentrated and returned the mist into the atmosphere.
Kavik slumped down next to a ice statue of some water deity and breathed a sigh of frustration. "This shouldn't be hard I did it ok yesterday. Why can't I get it now?" Pakku gathered everyone's attention with a slap of a waterwhip. "Alright ladies I want to see some sparring with the mist cloud and the techquies we learned so far. I this spar match is mainly to see if you can elude your foe with mist and confuse him. So, what will be and interesting fight. Oh lets try our class dope with the rising star. Hoji! Kavik. Get in the ring."
Kavik sighed walked into the ring praying that some god will accually have some kindness and kill him on the spot.

Hoji rolled his eyes and bended the last ounce of water out of his parka, melting it back onto the icy platform where he stood. "Stop feeling sorry for yourself, you did it right and thats all that matters," he said, glancing at Pakku. Hoji wasn't really paying attention to the water master, preoccupied as he was with making mist dance around his palms and fingertips.
The elder boy jumped at the man's water whip, coming instantly to attention. Mist? Eluding? Hoji frowned. They had just learned this technique, and although relatively easy, it would take a massive amount of concentration and power to put up enough mist to blind, or even obscure an enemies eye sight.
Hoji smirked as he though of an interesting way to put a twist on this new bending ability. His impertinent grin widened as he realized who his sparring partner was. He glanced over at Kavik and bit his lips.
"Don't worry Kav," Hoji said, walking towards the opposite end of the ring, his itchy parka already thrown on the ground. "I'll make sure the turtle-seals don't interfere with your bending any more."
Hoji smirked again and turned away from his friend he then faced the place where his opponent would be, settling into a deep stance he perfected for its stability. Class was turning out interesting.

Kavik saw the eager grin on Hoji face and feel like he could just piss himself. He hated sparing. He was good when he was motivated, when he isn't, he's atrocious. Kavik need to get his head in the game. He need to proove to Hoji that he wasn't a wimp. Kavik closed his eyes and gave a loud shout. "AROOOAHHHHH!" The class blinked and stared for a moment in a 'Whathafuk' haze. Pakku lifted his eyebrows. "Psycing yourself up I see. A tactic that many warriors uses to scare foes and muster up courage." He commented as Kavik got into stance, his eyes narrowed with detimination and the threw off his parka. "Alright then, lets see if I'm worthy oppoent Hoji." Kavik breathed in and let the flow and rhythm of water take hold of him, carry him downstream. Opening his eyes he rush at Hoji making the first move, he flinged a whip of water that solidify into a row of thin ice needles. Be like water, smooth and fluid, fly with liquid wings as you do on the ice Kav

Hoji's eyes widened and he shook his head as he heard Kavik roar. "Everyone I know is insane." he muttered as Pakku commented on Kavik's 'warrior cry'. Hoji's eyes narrowed, as the air in front of him misted slowly from his breath. He smirked. Lets see if I can put my plan in action, he thought, his eyes following Kavik as he made his way to the opposite end of the sparring arena.
Hoji took a deep breath as Kavik began his movements. The elder water bender knew that he wasn't very good with reactions, so before Kavik had even time to finish his bending Hoji pulled his body back, sliding his left foot farther behind him. Then he quickly raised his arms and turned, effectively blocking most of the needles. One of the icy spikes went on the outside of his wall and pierced the fleshy skin between Hoji's thumb and index finger.
The water bender gritted his teeth and bended the spike out of his hand quickly. He could see Kavik through his ice wall and retaliated swiftly, crossing his arms over his chest and melting the wall into water he then stamped forward and pushed the water toward Kavik, a large roiling wave of icy water.
He then turned and slowly moved his arms across his chest, behind his head and then across his chest again, forming a whirlwind of mist around him and inside a radius of five feet. A smirk found it's way onto Hoji's lips. This was going to be fun.

Teijo walked hand in hand with her sister past the training area. As they past the sparring arena she heard battle cries echoing through the cold air.
"Oh, is someone fighting there, sis?" Nyoko asked trying to pull her stead fast sister into the arena.
"Probably, but it's none of our business." Tei said simply trying to pull her tugging sister to wards home with little success. "Come on, Nyoko, grandpa will begin to worry if we stay out much later." She pulled harder, but her sister only resisted more.
"Tei" She whined. "I want to see please only a minute."
"No," Tei pulled again and Nyoko's hand slipped away from her. Tei feel strait on her butt in the cold snow. Nyoko stumbled nearly falling down, but then catching her balance and running into the arena. "NYOKO!" she screamed running after her sister. Just as she entered the arena's sidelines she was soaked by freezing water and lost in a world of confusion. where had that water come from?

Kavik noticed that the mist was thicker that normal, what he didn't notice that a little girl was now watching them from the sidelines. Kavik saw the rolling water and cursed sliently "GAH! Not now!" He barely evaded the blow by bending the wave of water around him. Then an idea came to him. "If I can see you very well, then maybe I can smell you. Lets even the odds Hoji-Sempai." Kavik pulled a bottle of tundra wildflower oil perfume from his satchel.
Palming it his hand, he moved the water into ice and slid on towards Hoji. Sliding behind him he open the bottle and poured the entire contents on him. "Now wherever you hide I will smell you out!" Kavik backed out of the way and thickend the mist into a dense fog. "Nah Nah! Looks like I got the upper hand." Kavik chuckled, now he just have to keep quite and follow his nose. Kokomi always wore that oil when she out flirting. How did Kavik have it. Well...he like the smell too.

Hoji instantly stopped bending the water into mist, turning towards the distressed call. He growled and shoved Kavik out of the way with a large wall of ice, still getting himself drenched in flowery perfume. "Crap." he muttered, seeing the younger girl lying on the portion of ice where Kavik had been standing. The wave the younger boy had bent out of his way also knocked the small girls frame onto the hard ice.
He lifted the girl head up slightly, checking for consciousness and injuries. Glancing around he saw Pakku and the other members of his class busy sparring. Hoji himself was so busy he didn't even notice the overpowering stench of flowers now on his outer tunic.
A small girl ran over to Hoji. "Tei! Tei! Big sis!" The tear-stained face of a seven-year old girl turned to Hoji, water streaming down her cheeks. "Is she ok?"
The elder boy was slightly taken aback at the child's audacity. "I think she'll be alright." he said, Tei's head lying in his lap. He looked over the younger sister. "Are you alright?" The girl nodded.
"Good." Hoji glanced over at Kavik. "Get over here!" he called, his face slightly creased. "This is your fault, you had better be here to at least help!"

Kavik got out from his fighting stance and heard the child's cry. "Aww come on! I was winning for once!" Kavik thined out the mist and put back the empty bottle in his satchel. "It's not my fault that the kind got into a fight. Some one should have kept and eye on her." He walked over to where Hoji was with girl and gagged.
"GEHAH! WHOOO! Look like my techique would have worked pretty well. You smell like you came out of a brothel Hoji!" Kavik went into a fit of laughter. "By Ocean, you smell like like a sister! Only think that you're lacking is pair breasts." Kavik was beside himself. Hoji, who prided himself to be far above women..now smelled like his twin sister. "Ok. I'm done." Snorted Kavik and as he was doubled over in laughter and amusment. "He kid are you ok? You should have stayed out of battle. Little girls like you and for that matter...Hoji-Chan, could have gotten hurt," Kavik had tears coming from his eyes both out of sheer amusment, and the heavy stench of wildflowers.

Tei blinked trying to grasp what was going on around her, but her head spun and after a few minutes she realized she was very cold... and wet. She squinted her eyes trying to make her horrible headache go away, but the throbbing pain was still there when she looked up to see her sister and a strange boy looking down at her.
"Tei! you're alright." Nyoko squealed happily, but stopped suddenly kneeling next to her. "I'm really sorry this is my fault." Tears continued down her little face, fallowing a path of tears that she had already shed.
"I... It's okay, you didn't mean to." Tei said trying to smile. Her head still throbbed and the light that reflected off the white snow just made it worse. Tei felt silly just laying there trying to make her headache go away, so she tried to get up. It took a minute, but she eventually got to her feet. "See just fine." She said to Nyoko just as her legs gave out from under her.

Hoji's face narrowed as he glared at Kavik, Tei still lying in his lap. "Shut up. Look at this girl! No matter that she shouldn't have been in the fight the point is that she got in it." he growled, now glancing back at the small girl.
Hoji allowed Tei to stand up and was there to catch her when she fell again. He held her steadily, still kneeling on the ice. The elder boy took a deep breath and controlled his temper, effectively blocking out Kavik.
"You probably have a concussion." he said softly, talking slowly and clearly. "I think that you should go see a healer - right away." he sighed, now noticing that he smelled like rotten flowers. Like an entire fields worth of rotten flowers.
He stood up, still supporting Tei. "I'll take you to my mother."he said. "I can carry you pretty easily, and your sister can follow behind." Hoji glared at Kavik. "And he'll come too, it's his fault your hurt." he growled, the ice back in his voice.
"So just give me the ok and I'll take you to a healer, alright?"

Kavik was still shaking with inner laughter. "Ko-Chan, is out of class right now. We can go to her instead. She can help and beside it's best if I take her it's my fault as you said Hoji, plus...I think she has something to take out the scent. You really smell gods awful. So you should come as well," Kavik grinned abit, but still carrying serious tone, but then he went back to his mirthful glee when he had a silly image of sour old Hoji in a tub getting a washing with one of Kokomi scent removers. "heheheh *snort* My apologies, I had a rather amusing image." Kavik gave one of his brighest smiles to Tei and offer his hand, "I terrible sorry that I wasn't careful, you'll like my twin sister, she's nice..and a good healer." He turned to Hoji, "So lets get you both clean up."
