Shona ran to the healing house first and got the attention of his daughter Kokomi. "Ko-Chan! There has been accident! You need to come to the Pakku's class now!" Kokomi blanched. Knowing full well that her twin was in serious trouble. "What trouble did you get into now." Kokomi whispered as the the duo left to the arena
Pakku saw the mess was glad that both were alive. Just. Yet alive never the less. He saw Shona and Kokomi running up the stair and into the arena. Shona ran towards Pakku doubling over and panting he asked: "Is he Kavik ok." But hearing Kokomi gasp, wasn't what he wanted to hear.
"Papa, Kav and Hoji don't look good at all. Kavik is torn to shreds and his leg and shoulder are all twised up. Hoji looks completely drained and his leg was a bloody mess. We need to get them to the healing house or they'll die" Shona didn't have time for worrying, he went over to carry Hoji since he was the least damage of the two and Kokomi got Kavik streatcher since he was too beat up to be carried by hand. Kokomi notice that she need another person to carry the stretcher. She saw Nyoko. "You chick! You saw the match. You help carry the stretcher too, Kavik will die if we don't get him and his friend to the healing house."

Nyoko was standing a few feet from the two boys. She was crying horrible as her mind raced. 'what should I do? I can't heal, I can't carry them by myself.' But before she could totally collapse several people came to them. She still stood there, frozen, watching the others rushing around trying to help. Finally someone spoke to her.
"You chick! You saw the match. You help carry the stretcher too, Kavik will die if we don't get him and his friend to the healing house." For a minute she just stared at him like he had three heads, but finally his words got past all her screaming thoughts and told her what she had to do. Tears still streaming down her face she ran to a stretcher. As she helped carry it several children, most older than her, huddled into the arena.
"Nyoko! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Tei screamed from the small crowd. She pushed her way to her and the stretcher. Tei didn't try and help her carry it she just walked, well more like trotted, alongside her. "I was so worried. What if you had gotten hurt?"
"But I didn't." That was Nyoko's normal answer.

Kokomi didn't say word as the young girl tried to carry the streatcher with Kavik's badly torn up body. "You! The girl next to the other girl..you're her sister right? She needs help. Help her carry Kavik.
They both reached the healing house and Nezumi was waiting grim faced. Shona took Hoji to a small room to be treated by a pair of experianced healers. While Nezumi and Kokomi handled Kavik. "My gods! It's a mircle that he lived." Stated Nezumi as she took off Kavik torn colors and began getting the other healers to adminster treatment.
Kokomi was in charge. She looked over Kavik's wounds, she had a lot of work to do. First she cleaned and banaged the shallow cuts and scrapes then, while Kavik was still unconscious she sewed up the deeper gashed and the other healer setted Kav's shoulder and bandage, by keeping it straight and wrapping the bandages around the arm and torso, overlapping the torso bandages with the arm and shoulder bandages. This prevented Kavik from sitting up and moving his shoulder. Next as the healers ready a splint and brace, Kokomi setted her brother broken leg. Fortunalty, the break was clean and will heal fine. But was separted at an odd angle that it will hurt when she does set it and splint it.
"Alright 1..2..3!" She set the bone quickly and the pain woke Kavik. "GODDAHHHH!" He tried to sit up, but Shona held him down as Kokomi splint his leg. "Damgit! That hurt!" Shouted the waterbender. "Well no duh, you had a nasty break, but ok now. Imma gonna check on Hoji ok?" Kavik nodded as he layed down on his cot. He was moved to the recovory rooms when Kokomi walked it Hoji's room. "Is he ok?" She asked with a tone of uncertianty.

Hoji was unconscious, his power completely gone. He knew he shouldn't have healed Kavik but he was literally given no choice. It was either his pride or his friend, and he wasn't that stuck up.
His hand grazed the ground as he was carried into the healers house. His eyes fluttered in his deadened state of mind. The ice spikes that where stuck into his blood covered leg had frozen inside his muscles, having a large chance of causing his skin tissue to develop frostbite.
The healer stood over Hoji and frowned, he face concentrated. It would take a little more skill than just melting the ice and healing the muscles. His tissue had already begun to deteriorate, meaning that although time was against them, this needed to be done slowly and carefully, making sure the natural systems of Hoji's body where left untouched.
She breathed and melted the ice one spike at a time, another trainee healer next to her, catching the water and bending into the floor. Afterwards they streamed water from a nearby water source and covered their arms, concentrating on the internal injuries, the muscles and tendons pierced by the ice spikes.
The younger healer broke off to answer Kokomi. "He'll be alright in a few days." she said, her teacher still working on Hoji. "It's lucky that his leg was the only hit by those ice needles, if anything else had been pierced he probably would have lost too much blood to even be able to move.
The woman glanced back at Hoji, whose breath had now steadied slightly. "The other boy is actually in better shape than he is. This one has mental trauma along with the physical pain of the other boys attack. I think he'll take a little longer to heal, and much longer to get better altogether. It will be at least a week before he's fully refreshed."

Kavik was all drugged up on pain killers by twilight. He was aware of his surroundings but not all the way there. Loud noises and bright lights bothered him as well as the strange smells and sounds of the healing house. He felt very unconfortable. Lying in a cot in a room all by himself. Kavik hated being alone in strange places..it often brought feelings of paranoia and unsecurity. He wanted to go home. Now.
Kokomi was talking to her superiors about the contion of Hoji and Kavik. "Hoji suffered some major tissue and muscle damage. Fortunatly we've repaired enough for full recovery. He'll be fine in a week at the least. Kavik...Hmmm, well the leg will take longer. A month of healing, the gashes on his right side were pretty deep. A few more inches..and his liver would be damaged. " Reported Kokomi grimly. "Kavik will take longer to recover, but compared to Hoji he's the lesser of the two evils. Hoji will be fine in the healing house where we can oversee his treatment. But can I take Kav home? He can't take sleeping strange places very well." The leading healer shook her head. "Absolutly not! I know you care for your twin, but we need to keep his condition stable, therefore, he stays here. What if your brother delevops gangreen? How do think he'll take to having his leg amputated?" Kokomi adverted her eyes. "He'll throw a fit, I can't...I can't do that to him." Said Kokomi blocking out the images of her brother screaming while she holds him down to amputate his leg. "Good you see my point, to be fair though, I'll move a cot in Kavik's room and have the other boy, Hoji, room with him. So he won't be lonely." The healer was about to leave when a young girl of fourteen ran out of Kavik's room and said: "Sensei! Kavik developed a fever!" The woman shook here head. "Must be the medication...today isn't a good day for the boy."
Meanwhile Nezumi and Shona were talking to Hoji's family about what happend at class today.

Once they had reached the healing house and everyone was safely inside Tei convinced Nyoko to make their way home. It took awhile seeing as Nyoko had wanted to stay and make sure they boys were okay, Tei insisted they would be fine and she could visite them later. In the end Tei carried her sister most of the way home, trying to control her sisters hystaric sobbing.
"It will be okay, Nyoko, the Healers will be able to patch them up, good as new." Tei smiled at her sister as her set her on the ground outside their house. She stroked Nyoko's frizzy hair and wiped away what tears she could.
"I was thinking such mean things when they got hurt. I'm sorry." Nyoko said between her lessening sobs. She hugged her sister tight and tried drying her face before they entered the house, both of them putting on a brave face for their grandfather.

Hoji breathed in deeply, his chest rising and falling at a steady pace. His breath misted slightly in front of him as he drifted in sleep. His leg wasn't bothering him, the only marks of the attack where small circular scars that had almost completely healed over. No, now his loss of consciousness was due almost entirely to fatigue rather than actual bodily pain, unlike Kavik.
Hoji turned over and slowly opened his eyes, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings of the infirmary where he was stationed. He stayed like that for a few minutes, his eyes half closed, observing the dim lighting in the icy structure.
He wasn't completely comfortable, still stiff from when his muscles had tensed after he blacked out. He sat up and was instantly racked with pain. He winced and quickly plopped back down on the heavily padded ice bed. He stared at the ceiling, attempting to breath, calming himself down, returning his heart rate to normal.
After a few more minutes he gritted his teeth and sat up again, not to be beaten by a few seconds of pain. Hoji wanted to check on Kavik, knowing that the younger boy was probably in a lot more pain that he was.
Hoji dragged himself over to the doorway, hurt inching itself over his entire body. He stopped and leaned against the icy frame then with his concentration revived pushed off the wall and headed down the corridor toward Kaviks room, only a few doors down from his former resting place.

Kavik lifted his head. He saw someone coming down the hall, he hoped it was Kokomi or Papa with Nanuk his stuff bear, something to keep him company and from wigging out and spazzing. Instead he saw Hoji.
Oh by the gods! What is Hoji-sempai doing out of bed? Isn't he hurt? Or worse? Why on earth would he do this...just to see me?
Kavik had a problem he was bound up and semi-immobile..how on earth is he gonna walk over to Hoji and bop him on the head and send him back to bed. But his body said: laid down..you were nearly sashimi back there...get back in bed, but when have Kavik ever listent to common sense.
He took his left hand and pushed himself up and with a crutch he finally got out off bed. Not before he was washed over by an ocean of pain. Kavik became a little lighthead but still standing. He waddled for his bed shoutting. "Dang it! Get back to bed...I have a crutch and I'm heavly medicated...don't make me thwamp you!"

Hoji growled as another spasm of pain racked through his body, causing him to collapse and slide down the wall opposite Kavik's door. He was looking into the small space when he saw the younger boy get up and limp over to him, threatening him with the crutch he was now forced to rely on for movement.
His eyes narrowed and he tried to sit up straighter, as if to regain some sense of pride.
"Pah." Hoji said, glaring at Kavik after he relalized that attempting to make himself appear more dignified would only cause his body more harm. "You can hardly walk and you tell me to go to sleep? What are you doing awake anyway?" he growled, looking Kavik up and down.
"Besides," he said, crossing his arms and looking down the hall. "What makes you think that I came down here to see you? You seem to be under the impression that I care."
Hoji was glaring at the opposite end of the corridor, his eyes narrowed and averted away from Kavik. He did really care, he just wasn't going to show it. His pride had taken enough of a beating already, no way was he going to tell Kavik he was worried about him. Even if it cost him a few extra bruises due to Kavik's cane.

After a minute or two of stirring the stew after Nyoko had left Tei decided to follow her. Leaving her concoction with her grandfather she pulled on her own parka and left. She followed at a small distance all the way to the healing house. She watched for a minute as her sister stood at the door almost like she was contemplating withers to actually enter or not. Unable to watch Nyoko struggle like so she made her presence known. Putting a hand on her shoulder Nyoko jumped and turned to see her. Tears streamed down her face and Tei tried to wipe them away, but she simply whimpered pulling away. Dropping a small skin baggy on the ground she ran back the way she had come. Tei wanted to follow, to know what was wrong, put she just stood in the cold night air staring down at the baggy. After some time of just standing and staring she bent down and opened it. Inside sat two necklaces. She lifted them out carefully, examining them. One was a blue half circle with a white orb in on end and the other was the exact opposite. She fit them together in her hands making them a Yin Yang. She recognized them instantly; they had belonged to her mother. It was a gift shared between Tei and Nyoko when Nyoko was born; it had been a symbol of their differences and harmonies. When their mother had died they had put them away and now Nyoko wanted to give them to the two boys. Normally Tei would have brought them back and put them away, but standing in the snow outside the healing house she wanted to deliver them to the boys herself. And that's what she planed to do as she stepped over the threshold of the healing house after giving a small knock on the door.

Kavik hated Hoji's pride. When did pride ever heal your wounds or fix you weaknesses? Hoji really need some flipping humility, and Kavik was gonna give it to him.
"Why else would you move your skinny butt off the cot. Unless you had to piss and then you're going the wrong way. Infact, you piss in the room they have a basin for it and everything." Kavik pointed to his basin in the corner.
Kavik waddled over to Hoji until.."OWWW DAMN!" Kavik tripped over the crutch and slid right in front of Hoji. "Damn you Hoji! Why did you have to show off?! And furthermore..you still smell like wildflower..though for some odd reason. It fits you." Kavik pushed himself up and sat next to Hoji. "The gods must have hated me for something..."
Meanwhile Kokomi walked to the door and opend it to find Tei holding something, "Are those for the amazing duo?"

Hoji snorted and looked the other way, pointedly ignoring Kavik. "Shut up. If you really weren't such a hypocrite you wouldn't even have gotten out of bed." he said, glaring at the opposite wall.
Kavik tripped and Hoji started, backing himself against the wall even more. He relaxed as Kavik started throwing around insults and stared at the younger boy through cool eyes. "I wasn't showing off." he muttered.
"And wildflower doesn't suit me!" Hoji said, raising his voice and glaring at Kavik, who had seated himself next to him. It was true, although Hoji would never admit it, the scent was growing on him slightly, if at the same time giving him a massive headache.
Hoji rolled his eyes at Kavik's new complaint. It was always, the gods hate me, I'm so terrible, why does everything I do screw up, why can't I be better? Sometimes Hoji would greatly like to slap Kavik for being so sown on himself all the time.
"Deep breath Kavik." Hoji muttered, slumping farther against the wall. "Even if the gods do hate you, a fact I wouldn't doubt, it's not the end of the world."

Tei just nodded as she looked at the two on the floor. She didn't really know what to do, seeing them sitting on the floor after what had happened didn't seem right, but she was afraid to try and help them up of somthing. She found she couldn't talk and she didn't know why, she shouldn't have been afraid of these boys in anyway, but there she was, unable to move or speak. They probably thought she was stupid, just standing there like an idiot, but what could she do say, "here's our most preciaous possesion ihope you enjoy it." or better yet lecture them on the danger they put themselves in earlier and how they could have hurt her sister. But they didn't need that they had probably heard it a million times that day already, well maybe not the sister part.
"Can I see the boys that came in here earlier?," she finally asked in a whispered, reffering to the boys that she planned to give the Yin and Yang too. She rubbed one watering eye telling herself not to cry, because that would only give them more reason to think she was stupid.

Kokomi took the items. "Thank you very much. I'll give it to them ok? You need to get home..They boys are better off alone right now."
Kavik eyes grew doubtful. "Right. Like you know what being a "family curse". I everywhere I go I hear my father say. 'I expect great things from you cub...' Or 'Why do act like such a fool all the time! I know you can do better. I want better from you...' It's been his mantra I want better from you I hate dissappointing him my sister and my mother. I constantly screw up. Hurting myself, or others that I care for. You're right when you said you only prolonged my life on this world, when you saved me from drowning. I'm on borrow time. Thats a fact."
Kavik pulled his good leg up and looked at window across from him. The auroas were dancing in the heavens. A good luck sign, but it ment nothing to the young teen. Slience pentrated his room with an ironic loundness.
He bowed his head and said hiding his tears: "I'm a curse, that all there is too it. I should have died in my cradle, instead I cheated death and live, and now I'm a bane to my family. Why must I cause anguish to everone I come in contact with. Hate this painfull existiance. I should have died. Instead I live and cause havok! It's my fault...It's fault for everything...damnit..it's fault." Kavik turned harshly and looked at Hoji with tearful eyes.
"Why must I cause everyone to suffer?"

"Hmm, Thank you, but I will just come back later. It's important that I give these to them myself." Tei smiled bowing to the lady as she left the healing house only moments after entering. Nyoko was going to love this, but it was probably better that she wait. She made her way home, hopefully they had saved her some dinner. those poor boys, she thought, they must have been hurt really bad. Why did she have to worry so much about people she didn't even know. She tried to push them to the back of her mind, but she was super worried for them and couldn't help it. "They'll be okay." she said to herself out loud trying to ease her mind. She felt almost helpless because they were hurt and there was nothing she could do for them. She made her way home a light falling snow painting her hair white as she walked. I'll make them soup. she thought smiling. Yes that thought helped, when she brought them the necklaces she would make them an extra special soup.
