I know that in the past, the rule of thumb was that canons and non-canons were not to have much in the way of interactions...but does it have to be that way? Why not take a step in the other direction, and let the activities of the non-canon characters shape what happens with our canon cast? This might mean that the Feng Shui's story will move in a different direction than the show might take, but I think that would really do well to make FS stand out among other Korra based RP forums out there.
I know this happened to some extent with the previous storyline (such as Toph meeting up with Aang and the gang in Omashu, Ozai's Angels pwning some of our non-canons). Could take a step further in that direction this time around, and really see where the story takes our cast of crazy characters.
Also, by shifting the plot focus more on the noncanons than the canons, it might be easier to keep the plot moving. There were times where things sort of seemed to crawl along slow as hell because canon posts weren't being made for one reason or another. The noncanon threads always seemed to move a bit faster.
Just food for thought there. Whatever direction you plan to go, highly advise you have the plot in mind before doing anything, or at least have the goal you want the story to hit in mind. It makes it a lot easier to sort of corral things when the story goes off in weird directions.

Random question occurred to me. I know that descendents of canon characters are offlimits. What about descendents of previous Feng Shui original characters? Like if I wanted to RP say like...Auina or Pika's grandson or something like that?

I'm not against canon and non-canon interaction.. never really was except in the case of the fangirls swarming. That's what I've always wanted to avoid.. or that super heroic character that comes in and over powers everybody! or takes away the role of the 'hero'. ZUMOTO ANYONE?! As for playing the descendants of non-canons. GO FOR IT. Time to make Jialing's grand child. MWHAHAH. OO.. OO.. *FLAIL* THE GRAND CHILD OF LI WU AND AUINA.  He'd be so suave. |

Looks like you ladies have been havin fun here and in the choi... I know little about snooki the person, but I understand clearly I'll need to break the glass case and slap the DO NOT WANT button if Jialing III pops up. *eyes Jia*
So I guess sometime after next week, after the season finale, we'll actually start up the engine once more? Any sorta cleaning and prep work we need to do in the meantime?
Goddess help us if we end up with a Jialing III x Ikeru III team up.

Yeah, I'd definitely wait until the season finale airs before going into overdrive. It gives a good long break before new episodes start again, so folks can get caught up on the action.
Also, I MIGHT have something to add to the character help deal. I have to dig through my files, but there's an awesome podcast I listen to off and on when making new characters. 10 questions to ask your characters to make them more dynamic and believable. While the podcast itself is aimed at visual artists (comic creators for instance), the questions still apply even for written stuff I've found.
