OK, soooo... "The Promise" is the "official" canon comic for after the series (the one that isn't a "side quest" during the show), and "The Search" will follow it? Freakin' spectacular.

So then.. it sounds to me like the majority of folks want to start the season from the start. Alrighty, I think it's settled then.
We'll have spots for the Canons, but if they aren't filled, we can move the timeline along as needed as admins.

Great, oiling engines and such... need help, do ask... otherwise we're waiting anxiously for a green sign to start rolling... we'll try to be the players of your dreams as so you won't have to be the admins and mods of our nightmares, deal?

Teiu, Roren we can either schedule a time on skype or handle it here: hashing out the details of our probender team.
Thus far we've currently decided on Teiu (earth), me (water), and Roren (fire). Now we just need to brainstorm things like team name, ages, game experience, relationship with one another, etc.
EDIT What we've noted so far.
Teiu: earth, "Woman in her early twenties, student in Ba Sing Se's University with a sports scholarship. Her good performance at ProBending matches earned her a contract to play overland, at Republic City, in a team being gathered by people/organization and means yet to be decided (aye?)"
Roren: fire, early twenties, rookie?
Chamir: water, late twenties or early thirties (suggestions welcome), novice/first real team?

A man in his mid-twenties (likely twenty-five, just to split the difference between Cham and Teiu). Has always been a true fan and student of the game. Has spent an inordinate amount of time studying strategy, reading up on players, and truly understanding the game. While he does not have an incredible amount of natural talent in the same way Teiu’s younger character has (something he may resent her for), he has quite a bit of skill due to his experience as a fan and student of the game. Tends to focus his play around the speed of fire-bending, looking to target slower players on the other team and take advantage of the situation right off the bat. As a result of this, he can often get carried away and take unnecessary risks, such as leaving himself open after lunging forward to exploit what he perceives as a weakness.
I envision him as having always wanted to bend professionally, yet never having been given the opportunity, whether because of a lack of competent teammates or simply because he never really considered himself good enough to hang with the pros. I imagine he played a lot of amateur games, though not in any sort of collegiate or organized forum (think what stickball was to baseball way back when). He prides himself on being a true fan, and will probably be overwhelmed with the opportunity he’s being given.
I don’t have anything set in stone in regards to his overall personality, and ANYTHING written above is entirely subject to change (especially if anyone doesn’t like it or thinks it sounds stupid). What I’m going for is that he’s not so much the prototypical rising bender, but rather a hard worker with a true love for the game that, in spite of his pride, feels threatened by younger or more natural talents.
Hope that sounds good. Lemme know what you think thus far.

Roren, he sounds really cool. XD He'd probably overwhelm my character when he told him the news he got onto a team.

Just a lot of loose definites.
And I'll likely take up a spot around early thirties or so. Currently some sort of tea merchant outside the arena, but probably had a different job altogether before becoming a probender.
Maybe became a probender after being inspired by a certain waterbender (... Tahno?), and was drawn in by the more martial aspect of the sport or waterbending. A newcomer to the sport, starting between one to two years ago at least with no prior knowledge of the sport until after meeting Tahno.
Maybe already she already knows Roren's character as an aquaintence in the amateur games, maybe even leaning on him as a de facto mentor, and followed him onto Teiu's team brought him along as a favour returned.
Hebirei, perhaps our characters could be related to one another if you wanna try and hash something out. Relative? Sibling? (ex)Wife? xD

Well I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to this thread, but I'd be open for anything you guys have in mind. I know Nanuq was going to be acquainted with hibi and roro's characters beforehand, somehow, we just haven't hashed it out yet.

I believe the plan was for the three of them to be friends, or at the very least acquaintances. The idea was that they provide the antithesis to Amon's portrait of the "evil bender". As a non-bender, Hibi's character would be unsure about his place, because he knows decent people who are benders, yet at the same time sees the corruption Amon preaches about.
So at the very least, they'd be close enough that Hibi would feel he knew them.

Something like what Roren said, though I'd prefer friends at least. Friends in the sense that if you crossed paths today, randomly, you'd immediately sit down, and talk about stuff that had happened since you last saw each other. "Old Friends". Like Simon and Garfunkel. (Except for not that old.) I was imagining my guy being mid 20s, unless your ages were vastly different.

Chamir, Roren, just something that pops up in mind. What about this: a small manufacturer of Probending Gear who has to come up with a team for the championship, on means it'll be his advertising. However, his low budget could only afford us, two amateurs and a player who has some talent yet not much experience. Together our chars would be in need to pull resources together and find their own playstyle. Roren's char got the knowledge and analytical prowess, mine got the feeling of the game and Chamir's got the power and experience in bending... A cross-section of skills that could give our team an unexpected yet possibly successful style... -maybe, who knows- Just a sketch of idea Edit: haha, half-baked from here it sounds like one of those cheap movies from the 90's and 80's that air on the afternoon here and there... But well, what about it, right? The Breakfast Club rocks, for example!
