Reed closed his eyes and fell back wards in to the grass. Reed once again sighed: He didn't like this scene. But ome to think of it, it was perfect: Grassy hills, amazingly tall ever -greens , the scarlet sunset and him.....sitting in a lone field...alone... no friends, no family , no Jialing or Jin.
"Reed, what's the matter?" Reed's mother asked bending down next to him. "Friends are stupid!" Six year old Reed grumpily replied stomping his foot down. " Reed's mother smiled, "With out friends, wouldn't you be sad?" Reed looked at his Mom, his angry tone gone, "What do you mean?" "well," His mother started, "Even when you're alone in the most amazing place on earth it'll make you lots happier whe you're with someone to spead the joy to."
Reed stood up and went to go find Jialing....To apologize.

To Jia, it would have been perfect. She scowled as she watched the dark haired boy fall back in the grass. Great here he was, ruining her peace, and quiet and SOLITUDE! Her hands closed around the rope tightly, as she wound it around and around her wrists and then unwound it. Jin's tail had begun to wag slowly as Reed sat up, seemingly thinking and then stood. Jia lifted a brow towards the dog, and gritted her teeth.
"No, Jin! Jin.. no! No barking!"
The dog barked. He lept to his feet, his balance impeccable on these tree branches as he turned around and trampled all over Jialing. Nearly vertical, the dog began to descend the tree, half running, half leaping down various branches, finally making a huge leap to the ground. The golden colored dog landed at a run, racing towards Reed with long, finally clean, golden fur streaking out behind him. Grumbling, Jia tore after the dog, lowering herself a bit more slowly than the kamikaze dog from the tree. She landed with a oof, on her bare feet as she had lost the slippers lord know where.
"JIN! Get back here!" With her arms swinging through the air, she raced after the pup, who was galloping towards Reed.

Reed heard distant barking. He knew only one dog that barked like that.... Which ment..."Jin and Jialing." He thought out loud to him self. Reed heard as the barking came closer. Reed stared to walk down the hill, and soon quickening his pace to a sprint. Reed ran in to the forest, looking for Jialing and Jin trying to make out which direction the barks were coming from. Reed tried to memuver through leaves and branches, and rotten tree trunks and brushes. The barking got even louder, and now he could here some one calling "Jin!" "Jialing." he said once again thought out loud. "Jin!" Reed called. "Here Boy!" But then , reed tripped on a rock and stumbled down a large slant. Reed cursed as he hit a tree branch. Reed decded to call for Jin again, but with out thinking a differnet work flew out of his mouth: Jialing.

Jin leapt over the fallen body of Reed, proceeding to circle around the young man, barking his head off as he ran at full speed. His tail curved out behind him, acting like a rudder. Jialing came into view, her feet stomping the leaf covered ground in anger. "JIN!" She howled, her fists swinging at her side. "Get your fur covered butt away from him!" She stopped short, her brown eyes looking down her ski-jump nose at the pathetic sight before her. "You. are. an. idiot." She said slowly, puncuating every word and nearly spitting at the last word. She rolled her amber eyes away, running a hand through her hair. As her fingers left it, some of it's orginal volume came poofing back. The tame-ness wouldn't last the night.. great. At least it was clean.. for now. She pursed her lips, glaring at her pup who danced circles around Reed and her. "Jin. I'm going to count to three..."

Reed sat up and staggered to his feet. Okay, I either apologize and hopefully she's foregive me... Or... i don't say any thing and have her hate me forever. Reed didn't know what he was suppose to say, but he knew he had done some thing wrong and had to make it right. Reed gulped, "Wait, Jialing. I wanted to . . . . . apologize. I didn't mean to be so harsh over the last few days." Reed said completely ignoring the idiot insult. "I'm . . sorry."
It was silent between the two. Jin was still prancing, and the the wind blew the leaves from the ground around the trees. Reed knew gettin Jialing to foregive him would be much more difficult. But he thought he would at least try.

She stared at him, her brown eyes narrow at the taller Reed. Her lower lip was thrusted out in defiance as she shifted her weight to one foot. She listened to him.. in silence then exploded. She jabbed him in the chest with two fingers, tilting her head up. "You freaking promise me a job, ship me out of some coastal town, ship wreck us on a island full of crazy people! That.. I could handle! But when you throw me like a bone to crazy women who want nothing more than to doll me up like some - some.. emperor's daughter! That's the last of it, Reed.. Reed.. whatever your family name is!!" She threw her hands up into the air at this point, scowling at him but her eyes were caught by Jin's wild bounding. "Jin! Knock that off!" But the silly pup would not listening, circling wildly around the two, each time getting closer to Jialing. Then all of a sudden, the dog turned swiftly and lowered his head. He headbutted Jialing's rear end. Now Jin was a large dog.. over close to or over 100 pounds. Needless to say, the force of his charge sent Jialing stumbling forward.

Reed listened to Jialing. She was actually making sence. He had hired her for going to work on his ship, not to go bouncin' around the foress. Reed tried to squeeze in a few works while Jialing was yelling, "I know, I know. And that's why I'm--" Jialing just kept going on. Reed shifted eyes to Jin who was happilly prancing around them. "Not a good time, Bud." Reed said/ told , though no words would get through. Then when she finally stopped Reed closed his eyes for a minute then opened them. It was no use trying to get through to her. Then she started to yell at Jin though he didn't have a care in the world. Reed looked down for a seond then back up to see Jialing stumbling forard towards him. Reed, with out thinking of what would happen after, caught Jialing in his arms. Reed stared. . And stared. . And stared. . .

Jialing yelped as she fell forward, caught totally off guard by her pup. Her long arms flailed forward, bracing to catch herself as she fell into the dirt. She squeezed her eyes shut for the impending impact. Which never came..? She opened her eyes quickly, and blinked a few times, finding her head pressed against the rough fabric of Reed's vest and shirt. Her palms were pressed against him, his rough hands holding her up. Jialing's head shot up as soon as she realized, and she took a step back away from him. Her hands fell away and to her sides as she hooked one thumb into the cloth belt she wore. "...Thanks" She mumbled in a low voice, eyes dropping away from him.
Jin now stood beside her, his dark brown eyes staring up at Reed. His eyebrows were curled up, tail wagging slowly as his ears perked, de-perked, and re-perked. He gave a low whine.. looking to Jialing and then back to Reed with a single bark.

Reed, soon realizing what he was doing, also took a step back. Though with Jialing's suprising "Thanks" Reed looked to the ground and said, "Um. . Yeah, No problem. . ."
A few silent moments passed as Reed started to talk again. "You were right, ya know. I did hire you work on the ship. So I should do my part and pay you for your time." Reed said not meeting eyes with her. Reed still remembered she was probably still mad at him. Reed stuck his hands in his pockets and stood silently.
You really are an idiot Reed. You know that as soon as you pay her, she and Jin are gone. She was just in it for the money. . . That was the agreement you made. . .

"Ha!" She scoffed, her lips curling into a teasting and spiteful grin. "Like you can.." Jialing folded her arms across her chest, that momentary smile fading. "You owe me a lot more than a handful of gold coins now, Reed." Jialing's voice dropped in pitch, obtaining a cold seriousness. She then was quiet, her weight shifted to a back foot as she stared him down.
Jin whined again, his mouth opening and then closing. His tail drooped, the wagging halted. His brown eyes continue to shift between the two, to Reed who seemed sad and lost, to Jia who was full of anger like usual. She seemed oblvious in the dog's eyes. Jin gave another soft bark, pawing the ground with his front foot.

Reed sighed sorting trough what their deal was. Calculating all the little aspecks he knew of, and / or could think of. He remembered them getting on deck, departing, his boat exploding: the works. First they departed, then sailed for a day or so then his hip exploded. It exploded.. . .
A smile crept on to Reed's lips. He soon shrugged as Jialing had gotten serious, "Well, I happen to remember our deal perfectly." reed bosted, " We weren't on the ship for long.. So from my calculations. . .You should find your self around. . . 40 , maybe , 50 gold peices tops. And trust me. . . I have that much."
Reed exhaled shifting his wieght then standing still , "Loop holes are fun, aren't they?"

Jialing's brows rose, her eye lighting up at the idea of 40 to 60 gold.. well that was more than she expected! Would it be mean of her to say she expected nothing from him? "Well then.." She mumbled under her breath, casting her eyes away quickly then looking back up at the mention of "Loop holes? What do you mean by loop holes?" Sharply, she narrowed her eyes again, shooting daggers at him as she began to tap her foot. Jialing didn't like these so called.. 'loop holes' and she didn't even know what they were.. Blasted boys. Course.. maybe this would explain how he could have that much. He lost everything on that ship! ...Well maybe he has connections.. like Ying Ying. That woman must be loaded..

Reed looked at Jialing strangly, "You didn't catch the loop hole? " Reed began to laugh. At least now she won't get all angry over me pulling this off. Reed stretched his arm out around Jialing's shoulders and ruffled her hair, " And this is why i love ya," Reed playfully taunted backing off before being smacked off. "So when we get back to the town I'll get you your money."
A sight breeze swept across his face. His hair once again fraying in to his eyes. The leaves and branches of the trees swayed back and forth making russeling noises. Reed was still standing there with Jia and jin. " How about we go now before the sun completely sets. We still need to get our Turisias." Reed said stuffing his hands in his pockets and starting to walk.

Jialing scowled, her hands indeed smacking him away before he could even touch her hair. "Don't you dare, Reed!" Jia hissed, making sure he did not get a single hair out of place. Granted, as soon as her hands left her own head, her hair puffed out more.. Lovely. The straightening that one of the crazy women used was so not going to last past the evening. She rolled her eyes as Reed walked ahead, blabbling on. Jin was at his heels, still not compeltely satisfied. What was up with that dog, Jia thought, lifting an eyebrow as she followed. "Give me an ostrich-horse any day over those lizards." Jia hadn't been a fan of them since day one, but goodnaturedly.. put up with the lizards. Just like she put up with Reed.

Reed looked ahead as Jin pranced beside him. Reed looked down to the happy hound, "Say, Jin. . .Why'd you go pushing Jialing in to me? You suddenly want Jialing to attack me?" Reed chuckled to him self. "I think it'd only be right to say this is the last walk we'll be on together, Jin." Reed said stroking the dogs head. "Heh. . . Now I'm talking to a dog," He told him self. As Reed walked the snapping of sticks under his feet were like rain drops. Always constant. The wind blew harder now. The trees shook and Reed's clothes fluttered to one side. Once again glansing to the dog beside him Reed patted his head. The sky was getting darker but they were almost at the place their rides were so they walked on.
