Kai shook his head at Jialing's smirks, " I wouldn't be laughing, Jialing. Reed had alot to taken in this morning. " Kai reached to pet Jin but snarled, so Kai pulled his hand back.. " The dog still doesn't like me.." Kai said giving a slight smile, but soon having the smile drift away back in to a frown. Kai continued exchanging words with Jialing. "Reed is an odd fellow. When ever he's angry, sad or discouraged he works and what ever he can releave stress on." Kai gave a slight chuckle. "I remember that's how I met him. ...Heh, I used to tease him and make fun of him, and he would always chop wood, or punch and kick logs. And when he had some upper body strength I made fun of him and he broke my nose. FIrst time I treated him as a friend." Kai sighed. "Just don't rag on him too much Jialing. Just as a favor..."

"Rag on him about what?!" She exclaimed towards Kai, shooting him a death glare raising a hand up swiftly to smack him across the head. Which she did. Jialing scowled and looked backed out to the yard where Reed stood chopping wood still. "What happened?" She lifted a brow in puzzlement, her eyes narrowing in the morning sun. It wasn't like Reed to be like this. She stepped out from the porch, down the steps and onto the grass, not waiting for Kai.
Jin raced ahead of Jia, dodging the flying wood chips with his head down low and back flat as he ran towards Reed. The dog circled around him and the chopping log, barking as he leapt to catch a wood chip or two as if they were bones.

Kai shrugged his shoulders, " Well I don't know. You kinda seemed like you always ragged on him." Kai said before recieving a wack on the head. Kai was about to tell what had happened when Jialing decided to approach the messed up pile of rage chopping wood. "Jialing! That's not the best idea, right now!" He said going after Jialing only to be stopped by Ying Ying. "Miss Ying Ying I--" She shook her head, " It's alright dear, I heard you two early this morning from my window she said pointing up. " Just leave them to talk, it's ok." Kai looked to Jin prancing around Reed, " I hope your right. . ." Kai muttered under his breath. He took his seat back on the porch and watched the two from a distance.

Jia strolled out to Reed, a mocking grin on her face. She stopped a few feet from him, folding her arms across her chest as he weight shifted to her back foot. Once again, her greyish-brown hair was a mess, half of it wind-whipped upwards, the other half brushed back. Her high collared, jade colored vest was clean, so much that the golden braids that held it fasten across her chest actually looked like gold instead of mud. It was weird for Jialing to dressed in her old clothes.. which for once weren't caked with mud.. or smelled of dog. Her mind snapped back to attention, as she opened her big mouth. "What's with all the firewood, boy? Trying to impress me?" She snickered, her voice laced with mock and shallow laughter.

Reed's axe flew through the air to a log as thoughts flew threw his mind. It was my fault! I should have been there! I could have helped! Look at you now! A worthless pile of BAD! trying to keep a girl with him! Look at yourself! Then Jialing spoke to him. What perfect timing. "Not in the mood, Jia." He said in a harsh voice between clenched teeth. Reed did a smack down on another two logs and reached for another. But to Reed's knowledge, he had chopped them all. "Damn it!" Reed cursed throwing the, now very dull, axe at the ground. Reed clenched his fists. Small driplets of blood ran down out of the sides of his hands and he gave a frustated growl before walking away in to the forest near Ying Ying's. Reed whiped the sweat off his face with his sleeve and continued to walk.

Jialing blinked.. and blinked again. Her smirk was wiped clean, her face blank for a moment, before those lines and creases appeared. Her brown eyes narrowed, and her nose wrinkled in disgust. She bit her lower lip, corners of her mouth curving downward. Her bandaged arms quickly fell away from her chest, swaying at her side as her long fingers curved into large fists. She lowered her head on a slight incline, muttering under her breath.. "How dare he walk off like that..." Jialing quickly motored after him at a gentle job, huffing as she caught up behind him. She stopped and yelled. "Don't you go and leave, Reed!" If he wasn't going to talk to her.. well she'd make him talk to her! Jin, still standing by the tree stumps.. looking back to Kai and whined.

Reed stopped as Jialing yelled at him. "Didn't I just say I wasn't in the mood!? Or is not being in the mood something to be beaten and killed over!!!" Reed wasn't paying attention to any thing that was coming out of his mouth. Kai could hear them from the porch yelling at each other. He got up and looked to the whining dog. "What'd you exspect? A tea party?" He said as he walked by and passed Jin. He was going to have to break up this little party....and it would be far from pretty. Reed stared at Jialing with narrowed eyes. He had never been so mad, or angry,sad: Whatever you want to call it, around Jialing before. But he couldn't help it. So much was going on and Reed was just so confused. Everything had been going down hill. Nothing had been like it should have been.

Jialing stopped in her tracks, her upper lip curling into a sneer. "Well EXCUSE ME for having the SLIGHTEST concern about you, you pompous pig!" She swung her fists back, canting her head to the side. "Forgive me for even THINKING about traveling with you JUST a little bit longer when we got back to the mainland!" As if, she would now! He couldn't beg his way back into her good graces like he did last night! Oh no, not anymore.. pulling an attitude with Jialing was not a wise thing to do. Never a wise thing.
Jin whined under his breath and trotted behind Kai. His tail was down between his legs as if he had been beated, and his head was low. Jin didn't have much hope at the moment for his two humans.

Reed just yelled back as Jialing yelled at him. " How could you HAVE THE slightest concern about ME!?! You just asked me if I was trying to IMPRESS YOU! Not a 'Reed, what's the matter?' !!" Reed just clenched his teeth, he'd been doing alot of that lately, and threw his hands by his side, "Well you know what, Jialing!? Even if I wanted to, which I DID, I can't travel with any more any ways!" Kai raised his hands up, "Whoa now, Reed. Don't do anything you're going to regret. We're going to leave port in an hour. So go get your things and take care of whatever business you need." Kai said as Reed walked past Jialing and Jin and said, "I'll go get your precious money". Kai looked over to Jialing, "Don't hold this against him. He just found out his dad died. He was really close to his dad...It's not something he can just shove in to the far corners of his mind." Kai started to walk back but then stopped.. "If you want a lift back to the main land you can join me and Reed." Kai said leaving Jialing to think.

But Jialing was no where to see for Kai to leave her think. The stubborn Earth Kingdom Girl from the sleepy, village of Lochan was not about to be spoken to that way. Jialing once again raced after Reed, her heels kicking up dirt as her feet fought for ground. Her long legs carried her past him, where she whipped around to face him, planting her feet. She leaned her body forward, shoulders up to her ears as her fists stayed at her side.
Sneering, her nose wrinkled, and her foreward was creased. Strands of hair fell into her face. "I don't want your money anymore, Reed!" The young woman screeched at the top of her lungs, her voice as hoarse as ever.
Her brows softened, arching upward, and she lifted her head as the anger faded from her face. Jialing's fingers loosened, leaving tiny nail marks in her palms. Her body relaxed and Jia diverted her gaze away from Reed. "..I don't want money."

As Reed walked his boots crushed leaves and twigs as his broad steps came down one by one. But soon he came to a sudden stop as the young woman halted to a stop in front of him. Reed tried as hard as he could not to yell, but to keep calm. He was still frusterated but he was able to keep calm for at least one question. " Then what do you want? If not money, a trip to the main land? What?" Reed stared at Jialing though she was not keeping eye contact at the moment. What was he to do? Storm off again? He didn't want to cause Jialing any more trouble or hurt her if he even did. He let out a long sigh and tried to let go of his tention. He tried to meet eyes with Jialing moving his head to the side.

Jialing didn't answer. She didn't have an answer. What did she want? It wasn't money.. hell she could get money so easily without working. How else had she survived for the past two years? Oh her mother would be so disappointed in her little girl, the little girl who was so skilled in textile weavings. Her mind wandered over the thought.. Could her dirty, calloused hands still work a loom and produce the wonderful tapestries she had when she was younger? That would be something to see.
She shook her head, a smile cracking her face and she sighed, stuffing her thumbs in the fishing net that was tied around her waist.
Jin sat off to the side.. watching the two. His tail thuded lightly against the ground, and he pawed the ground anxious. oh these two humans are oblivious to eachother..

Kai walked past the two and turned a sharp left and watched the two 'calmly' bickered. Kai looked to Jin. "I probably shouldn't invade their privacy, should I?" Now Reed officially had a problem. He couldn't stay mad a Jialing. He saw a smile appear on her face. But it didn't look like a smirk or any of the expressions she usually wears. Reed folded his ams, " I have to go pack ," He started, " You should too... Well, if you want to come with us.... ?" Reed slightly asked, " Despite my horrible episode a minute ago..." He finished off looking down ward. He was pretty much positive that Jialing would not say yes. He blew it, and for what? A few good screams, bloody scraped up hands, and a bunch of fire would. He deserved to be shunned..

She nodded, and spoke softly. "Yeah.. sure." She then snickered and tossed her head, rolling her bright brown eyes at him. "Who else is going to take care of you two idiots? Make sure you stay out of trouble.. " Jialing started, regaining her composure with a return to her sarcasm. She turned and started to walk back towards the house, hands swinging at her sides.
Jin whined and blew air out of his lips, making them flap before he turned and looked up at Kai. The pup stood, his skin twitching a wave through his long golden coat before he started trotting. He trotted over to Jialing, catching up beside her. One of her hands reached down and brushed his head lightly, scratching him behind an ear.

Reed smiled at Jiaing's nod along with her soft voice. Reed must have liked the softer voice better than her normal voice. But he thought to soon... Yet the sarcasm comes back. But that's what made Jialing, Jialing. And here comes the rude remark Reed thought right then as : "Who else is going to take care of you two idiots? Make sure you stay out of trouble.. " Jialing said. Yep.... This was jialing. Reed wouldn't want to have it any other way. Reed sighed, " It's a shame, but I can't argue with that, Jialing. " Reed said putting his hands in his pockets and following ,the already half way to the house, Jialing. Kai looked to Jialing and Reed. "Aww... Two wittle love birwds.." He said in a mocking tone. "I can hear you, Kai." Reed said looking back to him. "Hehe......Well it's true." He muttered.
