Jin only huffed through his lips, seemingly annoyed at Reed. The pup shook his head, though his tale continued to wag. It seemed to him that his two humans, why yes, He did consider Reed HIS human in addition to Jialing now, were completely oblivious to eachother. He began to trot, diagonal legs moving togther at the same time and slowly lead the way. His nose was too the ground as he snuffed out the Turisias.. lizard creatures.. whatever they were. The gears in his 'little peabrain mind', as Jia liked to call his brain, were grinding away as this dog, of superior intelligence to these humans, worked out further ideas to make them see that they were destined to be mates. Ah Humans.. such stupid creatures.
Jialing, meanwhile plodded on behind Reed, grumbling under her breath about the stupidity of the male species. This is why the underground women's movement existed.. to place men where they belonged.. as underlings to the grand power of women! ..Of course, women let men believe that they were in control, working behind the scenes. Men were involved in their petty little 100 year war, while women slowly began to dominate. Yes, Jialing lived in a fantasy world sometimes, a world where she was Empress of the Earth Kingdom and no one could tame her hair and make her wear clean, nice clothes. She snorted in laughter at her own dream. Years ago, when she was a little girl, she used to dream that she was in reality a lost Princess of the Earth Kingdom, Daughter of the Emperor and her mother couldn't make her wear that nice dress. No way!

Great. . .Reed sighed / thought. Even the dog is sick of me. It was starting to get darker. the sun was just a faded line on the horizon. . My feet hurt. . . Reed thought looking back to Jialing. She was giggle-snortingas she thought. Whatever, we're almost there, he thought again. A few minutes passed as Reed continued to walk. His mind was just empty. He couldn' think of any ideas, the weather.. a twig? Why is it so hard for me to think? I didn't have a problem about ten minutes ago. Oh wait . . . I am thinking. I'm thinking about not thinking.. . . Reed you 're being really pathetic right now. They were no just on the out skirts of town on a dirt path leading towards the village. It was just about a three minute walk to enter the city, wich quickly passed. The Turasia's were still there. Reed wasglad no omne had taken them and turned them in to shoes or armor yet. But he was just joking around. These people were to nice to do some hing like that.

Jia plodded over to her Turasia, and untied the reins from the post. Her eyes were down, watching her clean hands. She stared at the strips of leather in her hands and then sighed heavily. Jialing lifted her head and glanced over her shoulder at Reed. Her brown eyes stared for a moment, lips parted somewhat. Her brows curved upward quizically at her own thoughts, eyes narrowing in a puzzling look of not quiet understanding. ..She didn't like the idea of leaving him? It felt like a ten-ton weight in her chest. "Reed..?" She spoke softly, her usally harsh voice softer in volume, but just as scratchy. "...I'm sorry..." She dropped her head, "For.. how mean I've been.." She then turned to her Turasia, her face hidden behind it's neck. She frowned at herself, feeling heat rise to her face. She was blushing.. and she didn't like it.

Reed had tied the reins of Zhen with an easy slip-knot. The reins soon fell in to his hands as the large lizard creature nudged him with his snout. "Reed..?" He heard some one speak. But, it was none other than Jialing. Reed's green eyes lifted from Zhen and over to Jialing, "Hmm?" He said as he tried to keep the Turisia from nibbling on his clothes and while looking over to Jialing : "...I'm sorry..."? Had Jialing just apologized to him? Then she continued to apologize for how mean she's been. Reed smiled and put his hand behind his head, " It's alright; don't worry about. . " He said leading Zhen behind him while standing still, "But, could I ask you some thing?" Reed started as he doubting wether it was a good idea or not. ". . .Why don't you want to stay with me?" ..Yep....He said it.

Her head poked out from behind the neck of her Turasia and she scowled. Jia rolled her eyes as if he was the stupidest male on the planet. No, her older brother Daichi was the stupidest male on the planet. "Reed, I just want to make a living.. If you haven;t notice.. I kinda don't have a home to go to." Yeah.. Her mother had made that a near impossible feat. She forbiddened Jialing from ever returning home when Jialing decided to leave. Only her father had been there to say goodbye.. not even Goro, her other brother whom she had been so close to. She frowned at those memories. Yeah.. she had no hopes of going home. She wanted to find her own home.. in a village.. or start a farm. Well she needed gold to do that. "..So.. if you can't give me work.. then well.. " She shrugged, though it was half heartedily.

Reed listened to Jialing with a sadden heart. He really didn't want her to go. She had been his only good friend he had had in a while. Reed knew Jialing wanted work, but no home to go to? How could Reed keep her away from what he knew she had to do? Reed was much wealthier than he started out, but he couldn't keep paying Jialing ten gold pieces a day. It was too much. He would soon run out of money. And along with the money he sent /delivered to his parents to keep them by. Reed was running out of income. But he hoped she would stay for a much smaller price. "..So.. if you can't give me work.. then well.. " He heard Jialing say.. Reed really didn't want Jialing to leave. He wanted her to stay with him. "Well. . .I can't pay you 10 gold pieces a day any more...But maybe we could be partners? Split the profit 50/50?" Reed hoped this was enough to keep Jialing with him.

Jia sighed as she checked the Turasia's saddle, bowing her head and closing her eyes. She spoke softly, and.. sadly. "And What will you do Reed? What did you do before? You have no ship.. I have no money." Her voice was soft as her hand strung the leather through the belts and pulled tight. She then turned towards him and stepped up to the Turasia. She folded her arms over the creature's back and leaned forward, her weight on the saddle. Her head rested on her arms, tilted to the side as her brown eyes stared downward into the worn leather. "I don't like it here. Too many people.. too many crazy women." She chuckled, lifting her eyes up as a pair of fingers grabbed a strand of hair that was regaining it's crimp. She pulled it straight, and then let go, the curl boucing back. "Even my hair won't stay nice forever.."

"Well," Reed said, " I may not have a ship, but I could. . . I could. . ." Reed knew she had him trapped. She was right after all. His ship was gone. All his merchandise was gone. Most of the money on his ship was gone. Pretty much all he had left were his health and his home. Ah... His home on the farm. The horse-emu's, the barn, the house , the large prairie, Small turtle-ducks, and even his old tree house him and his father built with him. Even though he didn't have a normal childhood, for he didn't usually play about with friends such, there were so many good memories. His cousins would come over from all over for reunions. Reed wanted that back. He wanted to go back home and stop traveling. but he knew he couldn't. Jialing meant alot to him, even if he wouldn't let her know it , and now that she was leaving; he felt empty. "How 'bout you sleep on it? And make your finale decision. But right now we should get back to Ying Ying's." Reed said getting up on top of Zhen.

"Alright.. morning it is." Jia nodded and straightened. She whistled sharply for Jin, who was off sniffing some trees or something. His head rose, flopped over ears perking up at her whistle. The long haired dog came bounding over to the two, long hair flowing behind him. Jialing scowled.. why did his hair stay perfect and silky smooth while hers was reverting back to it's lightning struck phrase? Blasted dog. Jia would turn and swing herself up onto the Turasia. "..I'll be happy to get back on some Ostrich-horses.. I dun like these things as much." Jia would pull hard on the reins, bringing her lizard around to face Reed. "Do you think I can get my clothes back from Ying Ying?"

Reed nodded as Jialing agreed to wait until morning. Jialing had asked if she could get her clothes back from Ying Ying, " Of course, they've probably been cleaned more than ten times though. Ying Ying's a clean freak. If it isn't clean, she'll wash it 'til it is." Reed said as the Lizard started to move foward towards the house. Out side Ying Ying's Reed tied up Zhen he stretched one of his arms and rolled his shoulders. As the walked into the house Ying Ying ran up to the two," Where have you been!? I told you to get clothes not to run off like children! Do you know how much I've been worrying!?" Reed sheepishly smiled, " Sorry, Ying Ying, we didn't mean to worry you. " Reed apologized. He seemed to be doing alot of that. Ying Ying sighed, "It's alright, though I have to go get the little one to sleep. There is food on the counters and Jialing ou clothe are folded in the woven basket by the bck door, Good Night ou two." Ying Ying said walking up the stairs. "I'm going to go to bed," Reed said, "I'll see ou in the morning." As Reed layed in bed as many thoughts ran through his head. soon to be taken to sleep, Reed couldn't help but to leave the window open as an old habbit.

Jia followed Reed, not really paying much attention.. she was more concerned about what condition her clothes would be in. She never thought they'd survive a washing.. The tired girl merely nodded to Ying Ying, mumuring her thanks. Jin stood at her side. As Yin Ying left them, Jia gave a weak smile and lifted a hand in a silent 'Night' to Reed. She then turned and trudged towards the guest room Ying Ying had showed her earlier. She wondered how Reed knew this eccentric woman.. who obviously was very well to do living in a manor home like this. Jia shook her head, undressing layer by layer as she walked into her room. Her heel closed the door behind her, as jin raced forward and lept onto the bed. The dog did three circles and flopped, leaving Jialing to stare at him "Just how am I suppose to fit in there now dog?"

Reed sat in bed as he watched the sun slowly rose. Finally, it's circular form was shown and Reed slid his legs to the side of the bed and got up out of it. Reed had woken up a little earlier but really couldn't do much while it was still dark so he decided to wait; another habit of living on a farm. Reed put on a ever green long sleeve with a dark green border. He also had white clothe raps on his arms from the middle of his fore arm to his wrists. Plain brown pants ,his belt around his waist and his boots. Reed walked to he kitchen and drank a cup of water. His saw a figure approach the house and knock on the door. Reed set down his glass and opened the door. It was...Kai..?.. "Kai? What are you doing here?" Reed asked looking at the old friend. Kai was wearing his normal attire: White shirt, black pants, large brown trench coat, and his signature hat. Though his hat was in his hand not on his head. . . .And a frown on his face.
Kai sat on the porch as he watched Reed slice logs with an Axe. Hat beside him a sigh escaping his lips.

Light streamed through the window, awakening the girl and the dog who, sometime during the night, had managed to become a tangled mass with blankets and pillows. Jia wasn't exactly used to sleeping in a bed, traditionally sleeping inhay lofts or tree limbs. She groaned, rolling out of the bedd and landing on the floor with a thud. She pushed herself up, untangling herself from the blankets, rising to her feet. Jialing's arms stretched out above her as she turned on her heel and snagged the ratty old clothing off the bed. "Glad it survived a washing, Eh Jin?.." The pup merely rolled over onto his back, tongue rolling out of his mouth. He was far to comfortable to care.
With Jin at her heels, Jialing strolled out to the porch after poking around the first floor of the manor trying to locate Reed. She poked her head out onto the porch, sliding the door open all the way. She lifted an eyebrow, staring out at Reed with a puzzling look. Jin barked and ran to the side, staring at Kai from a distance and growling softly. She turned and Jialing exclaimed, "Captain Kai! What are you doing here?"

Reed grunted as he let the axe fly through the air landing upon the wood slicing it into two. Bits of wood frayed off as Reed harshly kicked the aside into the very large pile he had started since dawn. He grabbed another log and continued to chop the wood. He whiped the sweat off his brow with the back sleeve off his shirt. Reed looked as his hands. They were cut and scraped, and had had small beads of blood running down his hand.
Kai watched as his best friend blamed him self. He heard someone behind him and looked back to Jialing. Yes, you would have thought he would have foregotten. . .Of course he had remembered her!. . . She's the only woman to make a fool of him on his own ship. Kai just ran his hand through his hair, " I just can back to. . . report some newly discovered news." He sadly stated to Jialing.

"News?" She chided, lifting a brow at Kai before she turned back to watching Reed with her warm brown eyes. A faint smile crossed her lips as her hands came to rest on her hips. She leaned back, lips curling into a smirk. "What kind of news could have Reed chopping all that firewood for Ying Ying?" Exclaimed Jialing, while continuing to smirk, oblvious to all that had happened while she slept. She lifted a hand to brush aside a strand of hair, grinning at Kai. "Seriously.. Reed's so lazy and laid back.. Hah! Never thought I'd see him swing an axe. " Again, she laughed at her own wit, her forearms, rebandaged in clean, new strips of linen crossing. Jin lifted a lip in a quiet snarl at Kai.. having sniffed the man's shoes enough times to know where he had been for the past year. The pup slowly moved back over to Jia's side, his tail thumping agianst her.
