Sekar walked over to the Recovery hut to check on his new attendant. Rairii was working hard. "Good job, Keep up the good work," Sekar said with a smile. It was surprising to see that this girl was so much like his Fushigo, his Phoenix. "No...don't go there," murmured the healer. Sekar walked away shaking his head.
Later a woman walked around the compound looking lost and dazed. She wandered around the Recovery hut talking a babbling to herself, when she found Rairii scrubbing bed pans She ran up to her and grabbed hold of Rairii shaking her franticly. The womans eyes looked glazed over and out of focus and she smelt of ale. "Help Me! Miko is gonna die!! Find me Healer Man! FIND HIM!!" She screamed shaking Rairii franticly. "Whats going on?" Said Tomo looking worried.

Rairii jumped a bit, surprised at the sudden appearance of the woman and her move to shake the girl, but then layed a hand on her arm, trying to calm the arrival down. She said in the softest voice she could muster, "Try to calm down and tell us what happened." She turned to Tomo and whispered with a slight urgency in her voice, "I'm going to go look for Sekar. Stay here and watch over her." The worried firebender quickly ran out of the hut and looked around. A lot of people, but no Sekar in sight. She hugged her arms as a chilly breeze blew through and yelled, "Sekar! Someone really needs to see you in the recovery hut! Where are you?!" She frowned and looked around, once again ignoring the stares that came her way. They're never going to accept a... street rat, are they? Now where is he? Sekar...

The healer heard a voice calling him from the Recovory hut. "Nani? What is it?" Answered Sekar. The healer ran to hut and saw the crazed woman looking scared and upset. Sekar tried to calm her down but she kept screaming something about Miko. "It's ok madam show me where Miko is." The woman took Sekar to the foot of the hill were her thirteen year old son stood bleed profusly, barely conscious looking just as confused. Sekar blanched. "Dear Spirits of Sun and Fire! what has happend to you?" Miko's amber eyes searched Sekar. "We...where shopping, my Auntie was...getting fruit for lunch today when some thieves tried to rob us. I was...stabbed several times...Auntie was bashed on the head. We..barely arrived here." The boy faultered and fell, but Sekar caught him and carried him to the Emergancy hut shouting. "RAIRII! I NEED YOUR HELP!!" Tomo and Yuka came as well the woman kept stuttering over and over. "Don't worry Auntie Mai...I'll be fine." Sekar lit the lamp with a blast of fire and grabbed a needle and silk thread. "Watch, Rairii. This wow fire can heal."

Rairii quickly ran down the path, towards the Emergency Hut, when she heard Sekar calling for her. The girl slid to a stop, but lost her footing and fell to the ground once more. She quickly recovered and stood back up, saying to no one in particular, "I'm okay! Thank you for your concern." She inconspicuously made her way into the hut and watched quietly as Sekar worked. She frowned at the mentioning of fire. Here was a man who'd worked hard to make his firebending helpful to others and she was barely scraping by. She'd only learned how to use weapons from the boys to cover up her pathetic excuse for bending abilities. Nah, I can't be jealous. I've gotten along fine with just a katana. Rairii shook her head in an attempt to rid herself of the thought. She knew the truth though, she was a bit envious.

Sekar quickly examined Miko's gashes and cleaned them out. they were shallow thank the gods. Miko watched as the healer man lit the top of his needle and thread the silk thread in the eye and got to work. The boy bit his tongue as Sekar began to sow up the layers of tissue and fat. "Are you watching Rairii?" When he was done, the tips of his fingers glowed with a bit of fire. "Watch closely" Miko called out as Sekar seared the wounds closed. "I know it hurts young one, but it prevents it from getting infected and it heals faster. "But Master...can you ease the pain." groaned the boy.
Sekar was finished and rubbed some cooling balm on the now closed, yet swelling wound. "This will stop the pain." He wrapped him up and took him to the Recovery hut where Aunt Mai was waiting, bandaged and smiling at her nephew's healing wounds. "Thank you, great healer man! You saved Miko!" She payed Sekar handsomely and turned to Rairii. "And thank you healer child for helping Mai." She gave a few gold coins to Rairii. Sekar grinned as the two left the compound. "The technique is hard to master. It takes years to have the fire focused on your fingers and not your palm. Fushigo taught me how to do that and If you do well, I can teach you as well."

Rairii raised an eyebrow at the coins her hand. It was official, she'd seen more money today than ever before in her life. Not like she actually hung out at the inn to watch stuck up rich men pour a pound of gold and silver on the counter. There was a reason her parents were so successful, their services weren't for the poor. When she heard Sekar's offer she couldn't help but laugh, "I can assure you that will never happen. I haven't even mastered my basics. If I've learned anything in the past few years, it's that I can't rely on something that will never be. I can't firebend very well and I'm okay with it." A small spark appeared in her palm and evolved into a minuscule flame. Almost as fast as it had appeared, it died out. Rairii closed her hand balling it up into a loose fist, "I don't even bother to consider myself a bender anymore. I've stopped dwelling on such trivial things."

"Have you? Well that can be changed. You need to have a little more faith in yourself. After work I'll help with your basics in Firebending as well as First Aid. You are the only other bender here besides me, and I want to see Fushigo's healing methods continued to be used." Sekar heard some shouting outside. "Come with me," Yuka was screaming at grungy child with a bad cough, "Unless you can pay for our services, I suggest you get the He-" "YUKA!" Yuka froze. She hear that angry voice before, "Ma-master Se-Se-Sekar! I didn't hear you coming." Sekar eyes burn with anger, one of these days he was going to break his Vow of Peace and burn the hair off of that witch's head. "What have I told you about your attitude to the poor!? We serve everyone, including those that can't pay. If I catch you yelling like that again...gods help me that I don't burn you alive. Keep on screaming and disrespecting the patiences here, I'll lose my reputation and you'll be out of a job..again!" said the healer with a deadly calm, Sekar saw that Tomo already helped the young boy out, the other patiences are going about there business. Yuka bowed and apologized profusely, and continued working. "I'm sorry you had to see that miss Rairii, Normally I'm a good natured man, but that woman is going to drive me insane. Gah! Worse part is I can't physically harm her, because of my vows. Agni help me." Well continue your work and when you're done you can sup with me and my attendant, before leaving for home.

Rairii nodded and looked at the ground, muttering under her breath as not to be heard, "You'd do well to respect your workers as much as they respect you." She quickly made her way back up the path towards the recovery hut to finish the work she'd started before Mai and Miko arrived. Once in the hut she glanced at the pile of bedpans that still lay there, neglected and waiting for her to clean them. The girl sighed and knelt down by them again, scrubbing her troubles away... or at least trying. She sat back on her heels and frowned as she worked. He'd said 'before leaving for home,' didn't he? What home? I haven't had a home for 2 years. Maybe I should go home at some point... see if my parents have decided to accept me for who I am. Visit my old friends... See Ryo again. She shook her head of the thought. Her parents weren't the kind that would accept her easily, especially after a two year disappearance. She looked down, surprised at the sight that met her. The work there was done so she stood and walked to the outside. A breeze came through and her hair that had come out of a braid with all the running brushed across her eyes. Sekar'd said to find Yuka when she was done... But where was Yuka?

Yuka to the adavange of Sekar anger to leave early again. Sekar had a point, she needed to stop getting short with patiences and Sekar can stop yelling at her. "Stupid man, he should been burned alive like his dear "Phoenix". Said the attendant in a huff as she left the hospital.
Motoko, Tomo and Sarumi were playing to go home, but on the last mintute Tomo changed her mind and deicide to stay and have dinner with Sekar for a change of pace. She notice Rairii was looking for Yuka. "Don't bother miss, that Fox, scampered home a while ago. She hates it when Master Sekar gets short with her. Though I don't blame him. Anyway are you going to join Sekar for supper? I'm staying, it's nice to eat with someone. Oh if you don't have place to sleep, you can board at the Attendant hut up the road. We sleep there when we have to work nights, But if you ask the master, you can board there for awhile." Tomo smiled and bowed. "See you at Sekar's hut miss." Tomo walked off as the sun began to set. Sarumi chuckled. "It's good that the Mouse is talking to you, she all most never talks to anyone." Sarumi shook her head, anyway, I think your done for the day, I suggest you take Tomo and the Master's offer and go eat with them, it better than eating alone."

Rairii frowned, if only slightly, and looked at Sarumi, eyebrow raised. As much as she'd love to take revenge on the soldier who'd gotten her into this mess, she preferred the thought of a real meal to being caught by that brute again. She almost couldn't remember the last time she'd had a full dinner. There'd been very few in the past 2 years and it was her own fault. To proud to take pity from anyone else, to ashamed to go back home. She felt her face grew warm at the memory of why she wasn't back home, showing up the village boys or pestering her mother to no end. Inclining her head slightly to Sarumi, as some sort of an informal half-bow, she made her way across the worn path to the hut, deep in thought all the way. Maybe she'd been too quick to judge these people. They'd been kind, offering her a job and a place to stay. Still she'd stuck with her sarcastic ways, always having some sort of comment to say. She shook her head and grimaced. What happened, Rairii? You used to be convinced that accepting help was for the weak. You'd survived all these years without anyone's help. The battle within her head raged on, Rairii's face was directed towards the ground, looking intently at the shadows the setting sun was throwing everywhere. It wasn't until pure instinct made her head shoot up that she realized she was about to run into the hut. She stopped and knocked on the wall next to the door, calling out in a rather monotone voice, masking the emotions provoked by her memories, "Hello? It's Rairii."

Sekar turned around with a bright smile "Ahh Rairii! Good that you joined us. I thought it was just going to be Tomo and I." Tomo smile and waved her hand to welcome her in. "You can come in Rai-chan. Sensei is making yakisoba with ginger and mushrooms."
Sekar's hut was small on the outside but quite spacious inside. He had a eating area with a small stone oven and shelves with ingrediants on top. Far on the other side was a partion with a print of cherry blossoms and cranes. Behind it was Sekar's foton. Yet the most notice able feature was the phoenix staute and altar with incense and a mortuary tablet on top. A mat layed in front of it, looking very worned.
Sekar pored the noodled in the bowls and served them to the girls. He made a third bowl and poured some sake to drink. "Now shall we give thanks for these meal?" Sekar bowed his head and chanted a small mantra of thanks. He raised his head and took his chopsticks and said: "Now we can dine."

The small night breeze ruffled the white hair that hung down from Kasashin's bun. Her posture spoke of grace and majesty even if her poor travelers clothes did not. She took a deep breath and smiled, enjoying the many sights of the forest outside the large city. Kasashin sighed and continued on down the road, her tough leather boots not making a sound on the beaten path.
She wasn't looking for anyone in particular, a surprise considering her profession. Tonight was a pleasure night. She had given her spies the day off and she herself was looking forward to a nice hot cup of tea in the rich inn at the center of Hokage. Kasashin stopped at the start of a large hill, looking up it's length wearily.
Shaking her head she began the climb, noticing the hut on top of the mound of earth.
"One hill is all that separates me from a beautiful cup of white blossom tea." she muttered, annoyed. "Stupid hill, can't even get a decent drink without having to climb over something."

Rairii winced at the nickname Tomo had used. Rai? When's the last time someone's called me that? It's got to have been 6 or years. She turned her gaze to the ground and hesitated before shrugging her way into the hut. T'was bigger than she had expected, but still felt cramped. Though, she had been living outdoors for two years. She reluctantly took a bowl from Sekar and bowed her head for the mantra, but her mind stayed on other things. Her family, her old friends, and what her life had become. Ryu had always made dinner and ate with her if she wasn't ready to face her parents, but it changed when the dysfunctional part of her family's relationship reached an all-time high. Rairii had to blink back tears as she slid down onto on of the floor cushions. Just as she'd picked up a pair of chopsticks, her ears picked up the faint sound of footsteps and a muffled muttering. She turned her eyes slightly upward and mumbled, "Sekar, I think there's someone outside."

Sekar walked outside and notice some one down the hill. Gah, to late for patiences "I'll be back" Sekar called out He headed down the hill with his hand in the air, hold a small flame. "Sorry, We're closed for the night, unless this an emergency. I suggest you go back down the hill. The hospital is closed." Sekar walked back to his hut and sat down. "Thats happens once in while. People don't know that when the main lamps are gone...it's closed. We handle emergencies but thats it. Doctors need sleep too." He slurped his noodles loudly. Tomo giggled "You're soooo noisy Sensei." Sekar closed one of his eyes. "I'm only noisy when, I'm wounded and Yuka is doing the stiching. Or I say something crude and Motoko rams her knee up my crotch. Those women have no respect for me." Tomo giggled once more. "Sensei. They care...they do. It's just hard to show respect some times."

Kasashin stopped at the sound of a voice and as she listened harder she realized that this man though she was here for help. Of course! This was the hospital that was run by the young man and his sisters, they had been suspected for treason a few years ago. She shook her head, unable to recall the details of the old rumor. It was probably nothing, but not knowing something irked Kasashin.
She smiled and continued up the hill, thinking quickly. She could pass off easily for a commoner, being old and wearing her clothes as she did. Kasashin smirked. The guise of an old lady that couldn't do harm to a fly would work very well.
She stumbled and fell, landing heavily on her palms. Her breath came in shorts gasps as she tried to regain her balance, her body lying only a few meters away from the hospice. She clawed at the ground noisily, dislodging rocks and dirt around her as she scrambled to get up, her hair falling loose from its bun.
