Rairii stole a quick glance at Tomo before scrambling up and rushing the doorway. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the faint outline of someone falling. She reached out to grab a nearby candle and lit it with a quick flick of a spark from her finger. Within seconds she found herself at the person's side, surprised that an old woman was climbing up a hill this late in the day. She sank down to her knees, urgently saying, "Are you alright, Miss?" She turned back to the hut where Tomo and Sekar were surely biting back laughter at her antics. She quickly set the candle down by her foot so it could still shed light as she yelled at the healer, "Sekar! It's an old woman the needs help so get out here before I burn you to a crisp!" She cringed at how empty the threat was. Oh yes, fry a master firebender with my pathetic little skills.

Sekar and Tomo walked outside and down to where Rairii was with the old woman. "I'm sorry, She seemed fit to me. C'mon I'll take you the Emergancey Hut. Tomo stay with this woman while I prepare the hut.
Sekar ran to the Emergancy hut and lit all the lanterns. He got his instraments and his medicine. I wonder who is this woman? Is she commoner or of the noble clans? Sekar walked back to the woman with a lantern. "Can you stand or do you need help and can you tell me you name and your infermery?" Tomo help the woman up. "Sensei do you know whats wrong with her?" Sekar scratched his goatee turning into a beard. "Probaly fatigue. Nothing major..but I want to examine you..is that alright?" Sekar looked at Rairii, "Thank you for warning me about her. I thought she was a wander or a vagabond. Those are quite frequent here." He turned back to the old woman. "So what is ailing you?"

Kasashin looked up, her amber eyes wide. She nodded incoherently and let Tomo help her up. She allowed herself to be dragged over to part of the hospice where she was laid on a straw palate in one of the rooms. Her face was slightly flushed and her iron ribbed fan was digging into her back uncomfortably. Her face was relaxed and she opened an eye to answer the young man who was talking to her.
"You may call me Senmitsuya." she said softly, smiling at the young man. "I am sorry for causing you trouble, but I have this horrible pressure in my chest and it keeps getting worse and worse as the days pass." she said, taking her time and pauses in between every sentence.
"Today it became unbearable and as I came to see you I had this sudden tension in my chest and throat and I collapsed." Kasashin stated, sitting up slowly, her hands folded in her lap.

Rairii watched from a bit aways, golden eyes narrowed subconciously. She watched the woman critically and muttered, just loud enough that she didn't doubt that she could be heard by those with good enough hearing, "Well, that'd be a good reason to not trek up hills so late at night. If Sekar had decided to just completely ignore you, things could've gotten worse." She shut her eyes in a small wince when what she'd just said registered. She took only a millisecond of hesitation before muttering, "Sorry, ma'am. I should be more respectful." Smooth, Rairii. Mouth of to a few more elders who just came to get treatment for their ailments. You must be so proud of yourself. She crossed her arms across her chest and turned her gaze downwards, trying to block-out the noise in her head, but also attempting to keep herself from saying anything else disrespectful.

Sekar ignored Rairii, he didn't need to be corrected by a street rat. Great Sekar...you have a patient with a breathing problem and you turn your back...Hikari and Toya must be rolling in their graves.
"Sounds like a respiratory disorder. I know an infusion that will ease the pressure, but you need to excuse me for a moment ma'am." Sekar motion to Tomo to come with him. Sekar had look of suspicion. something is not right The two where out of earshot of Senmitsuya. "I have a bad vibe from this woman. There is something that bothers me about her." Tomo nodded.
"I agree Sensei. There is something not right about this situation." Sensei glanced to where old woman was. "Why did she come alone? Why didn't she have a family member or some one she knows to come with her or more logical, to fetch me? It doesn't make sense, Why would she wait this long to contact me, when the pressure that bad?" Tomo closed her eyes
"I agree once more Sensei. Should we keep her over night, and watch her?" Sekar rubbed his goatee. "Yes, I'll keep her for observation and I'll giver her a placebo. If this ailment is real, nothing will happen, if her condition improves...then she needs to speak words of truth."
Sekar returned with a steaming bowl of rose hips and hibiscus flowers. "Breath in deeply and stay here for the night. I'll come back to see if you improve." Sekar stepped out of the hut, and look up to see the clouds move over the star shapes. "A storm is comming...not a good omen."

Kasashin was about to snap back a smart reply at Rairii before she stopped and smiled gracefully. "Thank you dear." she said, smiling slightly at the much younger girl. She watched as the doctor and his assistant left the room.
There was a tenseness in their voices, something in the way they talked that hinted to insecurity. Kasashin clicked her tongue. She hated smart peasants. They always seemed to be able to figure things out quicker than the nobles who thought they where above such things as spies and spy-masters.
The woman observed the two carefully as they walked out of her accommodations. They where walking as if expecting a deathblow to the back. Very nervous and unsure. She smiled to herself letting her eyes wander about the comely room.
She really hated smart commoners. They could always deduce what others looked over. Kasashin stared at the tea kettle in the corner and thought to herself, putting herself in Sekars shoes.
She wouldn't trust herself. Not a bit. She looked at the ceiling, running over the possible outcomes in her head. What would she do if a stranger with a questionable alibi came to her in the near middle of the night?
The door slid open and distracted Kasashin's strain of thought. She turned to see Sekar walk in with a medicinal bowl full to the brim with herbs and plants. She smiled at the young man.
"Thank you doctor." she said, nodding as he placed the infusion at the side of her pallet.

Sekar watched the heat lighting dance on the horizion, The gods must be testing me... He notice Tomo was staring at the ground looking worried and frustrated. "Go home Tomo, I can handle this woman on my own. Go home and sleep we need you at work tommarrow." Tomo looked up and bowed, "Thank you Sekar Sensei." Tomo lefted the compound and proceeded down hill. Tomo lives with her Grandmother and Uncle who work at a rice shop.
Sekar looked at his worker "I have a task for you, that woman wreeks of bad intentions. I want you to keep an eye on her. I don't trust her one bit. I'll know what she's up too in the morning though, that infusion was placebo, a false cure. It will do nothing, if she telling the truth. But if she's well..then I will figure out her plan. You and I will take turns watching her. Come and get me when the storm has pass. I'm going to do some research in my journals." He was still out of range of the old woman. "Can I trust with this task?"

Rairii looked at where the woman was lying and paused before nodding slowly as she spoke in a remotely hushed voice, "I believe I can be trusted with this. I wish you luck with your research, sir." With another small nod she disappeared back into the hut to begin watching over the woman. Back inside, she sank down in a cross-legged position near the pallet. She sat with a blank look on her face before pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her chin on them. "Hello again, ma'am. Sekar'll be back in awhile." She tilted her head slightly, studying the figure before her. Why is Sekar so suspicious? She seems perfectly harmless to me. Sure, it doesn't make much sense that she was climbing up a hill so late... but it doesn't make much sense for an inn-keeper's daughter to be stealing from a fruit cart either. She hesitated before speaking, "Ma'am, how are you feeling so far?"

Kasashin stared at the ceiling and watched through the corner of her eye as Sekar left her alone with Rairii. She breathed in deeply, still unsure of how to approach this situation.
She really did have a minor respiratory problem, something perfectly normal in her older age, so if this medicine was supposed to cure a major problem it should at least clear her sinuses and chest.
It had only been a few minutes but Kasashin knew that most medication took almost instant effect, especially those breathed in.
Her eyes widened slightly, barely noticeable to anyone looking at her, this must be a fake cure! A placebo, a false imitation of a medication that would help people only if they believed that it would cure them. She suddenly noticed the younger woman talking to her.
She smiled at Rairii. "I still have an even amount of stress on my chest, but I've only been here about ten minutes," Kasashin said, still smiling innocently at Raiiri. "I'm sure I'll be relieved in the morning."

With Rairii watching Senmitsuya. Sekar knew that things will be fine.
The healer was in his hut with scrolls, books, journals and charts all spread out on his floor. A pair of spectiacals lay at his feet and on his left was a small bottle of sake. Sekar drank a little before looking over some of his medical journals. The woman by the sound of her voice sound like a small sinus infection. Sekar will add some peppermint leaves in the placebo. That will sorta defeat the purpose, but it will keep the woman from knowing his out right supicion. Plus if the woman was lying about a heavy pressure, the placebo will make the result. The menthol in the peppermint, will get rid of small infections but it will take a heavy infusion of chamomile, spearmint and rare herbs, to cure the big ones "Bah...I hope this woman isn't pulling a fast one on me. I better add those leaves to keep her stop sniffing around my hut." Thunder boomed above and heavy rain dance on the roof. Twenty minutes has passed since Sekar began to pull books from the shelves and read them. He stood up and when to his private stores and grabbed a few peppermint leaves and walked out. Barely daunted by the heavy ran.
"I'm sorry ma'am I had to check on a few of my predessor's jounals. I'm sorry if the medicine is taking so slow. Peppermint will speed it along." He crushed the leaves in the infusion and looked at Rairii and whispered. ". Peppermint will cure minor colds, and headaches...and keep supicious old ladies quiet." Sekar hated feeling so aloof but the woman was not like most. She was hiding something. "Rairii you are excuse. I would like to exaimine the paitent and keep on eye on her myself."

Rairii tilted her head a small degree and smiled, even if only slightly. She stood up, brushing off her skirt absentmindedly, and made a barely noticeable bow as she uttered a quick sentence, "I bid you well, ma'am." As she passed by Sekar, she added under her breath, "Good luck, sir." She slipped out of the hut and and bit back a squeal as she was almost instantaneously soaked by the freezing cold rain. She trudged her way back to the recovery hut to pick up her things before dragging her tired body over to the attendant's hut where Sarumi had promised she could stay the night. Once inside, she dropped her sopping pack onto the floor and shed the uniform she'd been wearing over her regular clothes so that they fell over the bag. She wrung out her water-y hair and blew a damp strand out of her eyes before collapsing on a pallet and letting sleep consume her.

Kasashin raised an eyebrow as the young doctor came in. She smiled and kept up her almost-perfect facade, nodding in understanding as Sekar apologized.
She listened carefully as Sekar whispered at Rairii, hearing enough to determine what the doctor had added to her 'medication.' Kasashin looked at Rairii innocently, her long lashes covering her amber eyes in amusement.
"Good bye young lady," she said, waving slightly as Rairii left. Kasashin then looked at Sekar, still thinking over what he was trying to pull. He wasn't a traitor, they normally acted much more nervous when strangers came strangely, He probably didn't smuggle drugs, dealers where more high strung and normally as addicted as the patients they dealt with.
She sighed and layed down on her palate carefully disguising her true intentions with innocent actions, seemingly commonplace. In reality she was loosening the sheaths of her ankle and wrist guards, making the knives easier to slip out in a pinch. Kasashin wasn't particularly worried about an attack.
Innocent people didn't try to hurt old ladies.

Sekar watch the womans movement carefully. She didn't seem threating. Sekar leaned back and let the rain soothe his wary nerves, but he was getting sleeply. Sekar didn't have time to sleep. With some quick thinking, the fire healer pulled out one of his sabons, long, thin acupunture needles. These worked very well. Acting as anthethics durning surgery or as painkiller and in Sekar's case, as a simulant, by hitting the right nerve. Sekar stabbed his right wrist with one of them, it wasn't the shock of pain that woke him up, but the sensation that the needle cause when he hit the right nerve.
Thunder boomed in the distance and lighting flashed. "The Ten Longs or Heaven's Dragons are roaring again." Remark Sekar looking up. "That what my foster father, Toya always told me when I was little, durning thunder storms." Sekar golden eyes seem shine in the low light. "So Senmitsuya, Have you any children or grandchildren?" Sekar dicided that a conversation would work a little better than the placebo. It's amazing what people would say when their guard is down.

Kasashin was staring at the ceiling, listening to the soft pitter-patter of the rain on the roof. She always liked rain. It covered her tracks, buried trails, left no stone untouched. Rain left a clear, clean, fresh, smell behind. It washed away everything.
And the lightning! Natural fireworks. She smiled and then turned to Sekar. "It is always good to know that someone still carries with them the knowledge of our ancestors," she said, commenting while the thunder rolled over her words.
"I have no children. No grandchildren. I was never married, I'm afraid. My parents weren't wealthy enough to afford a dowry, not to mention that the geisha I worked under never allowed me any romantic relationships." she said, sitting up and breathing in deeply.
"What about you?" Kasashin asked, the wrinkles under her eyes deepening. "You seem very well off, and those two girls who help you are very pretty; are either of them your betrothed?"

Sekar narrowed his eyes. what is that woman getting at? The healer turned his head to look at the trails of lighting and replied. "No, Motoko, Tomo, Yuka, Sarumi and our newest assitiant Rairii are simply my attendants. They have been working here for several years or were just hired. I don't have time for romance, I have a hospital to run. Though my attendants have tried to find me some company on those cold lonely nights. Bah." Sekar leaned back.
"You say you lived as a geisha? Don't hear of them much, what was it like?" Sekar need to stay clear out of his love life, talking about that was like pouring idione on a wound. The needle in his arm glinted in the low light. "I heared that they are women in the arts, but thats all I know, I'm into some of them, mainly singing, my foster mother taught how, but what did you preform. Did you sing? Or dance?"
